Raama raajyam

Sree Raama performed Poundareekamu,Aswamedhamu and many other yajnaas many times.He performed Aswamedha yaagam hundred times.He ruled Ayodhya with the help of Lakshmana.civilians never had any problem during his rule.Then never knew diseases,fear and widowhood.There were no thieves,no calamities and no unusual deaths.Every one was happy.There was no enemity among individuals,because they were Following Raamaas ideals.They never harmed one another.Every one lead a righteous life.Rains occured at the right time.There was greenery every where.There never was drought.Every one lived simple and purposeful lives without any animosity and jealosy.He rules for eleven thousand years. Phala sruthi If we read this Raamaayanam,we will be free of all the sins.If we want children we can have them.If we want wealth,we can have wealth.If women read it or hear it,they would have long life and good husbands. Coronation ceremony of Sree Raama

Vasishta,who has clean soul and is aged made Raama and Seetha sit on diamond studded seats.Just as Ashtavasuvulu performed Abhishekam to Indra,great sages Vasishtudu,Vaamadevudu,Jaabaali,Kaasyapudu,Kaathyaayanudu,Suyajnudu,Gouthamudu and Vijayudu performed Abhishekam with sacred waters.Then,Ruthviks,Brahmins,maids,ministers,civilians,warriors performed Abhishekam.OnVasishtaas request all the deities performed Abhishekam with the extractof all the medicinal plants from the sky.Sathrughna held white umbrella to Raama.Sugreeva and Vibheeshana were cooling him with fans.Devendra sent garland made of hundred golden lotus flowers.God of Air,Vaayudevudu brought it and presented it to Raama.Indra sent another chain made of pearls,diamonds and rubies to Raama.Apsarasaas danced.All the trees bore ripe fruits,All the flowers released faint scent into the air.Sree Raama donated one lakh horses,one lakh cows hundred oxen,thirty crore golden coins,clothes and ornaments to Brahmins.Raama gifted Diamond studded golden chain to Sugreeva and diamond studded ornament to be worn on shoulder to Angadudu.Sree Raama prsented a pearl chain to Seetha.Seetha looked at Raama and taking his consent gave clothes and ornaments to Hanumantha.She took out her chain and started lookingt Raama and vaanaraas again and again.Raama understood her intentionnd told her to give to such a person who has bravery,valor and intelligence.Hearing this,Seetha gave it to Hanumantha.Hanumantha wore it and glowed like a mountain with white clouds passing through it.Raama gifted Dvividudu,Maindudu,Neeludu and other warriors appropriately.Ecery one accepted the gifts given by Raama and returned to their homes happily. Coronation ceremony was completed succesfully.Raama requested Lakshmana to become the prince of Ayodhya.But Lakshmana vehemently opposed it.He is content with serving Raama.What more does he want?So,Bharatha was made the prince.Like this,Kaikeyis wish that Bharatha should be made the prince has been fulfilled.

Sree Raama comes to Ayodhya

Bharatha saluted Raama and started telling him.Raamaa!out of respect towards my mother,to whom you are devoted,you gave this kingdom to me.I am now handing over it to you.I do not have the strength to rule this kingdom.A calf can not carry the burden which a bull carries.So,you get enthroned.Please rule this kingdom till eternity.Sree Raama accepted Bharathaas quest.Sathrughna called for barbers and made Bharatha and Lakshmana clean their hair and got them bathed.Then,Sugreeva and Vibheeshana were also made to bathe and wear new clothes and ornaments.Then,Raama got his hair cleared and cleaned and bathed.They all were decorated b Sathrughna.Palatial maids dcorated Seetha.Kousalya saw to it that all vaanara women were also decorated appropriately.Sumanthrdmade the chariot ready for Raama.Raama alighted it and started for Ayodhya.Every one folloed him.Other ministers came to welcome Raama.Bharatha was the charioteer for Raamaas chariot.Sathrughna held umbrella for Raama.Lakshmana and Vibheeshana were fanning him.Deities and sages praised Raama from the sky.Sugreeva came on an elephant ,named Sathrunjayamu.Vaanara warriors were in human form and decorated and came on nine thousand elephants.Sounds emanating from drums and trumpets filled the entire universe.Brahmins walked before Raama with Akshinthalu,sacred rice.Cows and maids also walked before Raama. When Raama explained friendship of Sugreeva,Efficiency of Hanumantha,valor of vaanara warriors and Vibheeshanas dedication,all the ministers were astonished.Sree Raama entered Ayodhya with his friends.Civilians flew flags in their homes as a mark of happiness.Sree Raama saluted his mothers and entered the imperial palace. Raama told Bharatha.Bharathaa!you allot my palace to Sugreeva.Bharatha took Sugreeva by hand and made him rest in Raamaas room.Sathrughna decorated it beautifully and made Sugreeva happy.Bharatha rquested Sugreeva to see that pure waters from four seas be brought for Raamaas enthroning function.Sugreeva directed four of his warriors to take four golden vessels and bring waters from four seas by next day early morning.Jaamabavanthudu,Hanumanthudu,Vegadarsi and Rushabhudu brought religious and pure waters from five hundred rivers.Sushenudu brought waters from eastern sea.Rushabhudu brought waters from southern sea.Gavayudu brought sacred waters from western sea.Naludu brought sacred waters from northern sea.Sathrughna informed Sage Vasishta that sacred waters have been brought by vaanaraas.

Bharatha welcomes Raama,Lakshmana and Seetha

Bharatha turned towards Shathrughna and addressed him.Shathrughna!decorate the city.Decorate temples in thecity with flowers and sandalwood paste.Arrange for musical instruments.Everything should be ready before early morning.Shathrughna took to task many aides to smoothen the road from Nandigraamam to Ayodhya.He sprinkled water on the roads and decorated with flowers.Many flags were put.Civilians were told to decorate their houses.Kings wives,ministers,army,their family mambers,Kousalya,Sumithra and Kaikeyi started to come to Nandigraamam to see Raama.Thousands of elephants and Horses were decorated and taken to Nandigraamam.Practically entire Ayodhya walked to wards Nandigraamam. Bharatha,the great soul,held Raama paadukaas on his head,took white umbrella and hand fans and startedon his journey to welcome Raama,along with his ministers.He waited for a while and spoke yo Hanumantha.Hanumanthaa!why is Raama not coming yet?Where is the vaanara army,which you spoke of?Is it that you p,ayed mischief with me? To these allegations,Hanumantha replied.Bharadhwaaja and Indra gave boons so that all the tress would have ripe fruits and nectar all along the way.So,may be our vaanaraas might be coming slowly.Hear!are you hearing the noise?Vaanara army is crossing the river Gomathi.Dust is raising near River Vaaluki.May be they might have crossed that river.May be they are enjoying in Saalavanam. Can you see Pushpaka vimaanam there?It is in the distance.Seetha Raama Lakshmana,Sugreeva,Vibheeshana and others are coming by it.Civilians expressed their happiness seeing that Pushpaka vimaanam.They saluted Raama.Bharatha gave warm welcome to Sree Raama.The plane landed on Raamaas orders.Raama made Bharatha sit in the plane.Bharatha saluted him.Raama made him sit on his lapnd hugged him with affection.Bharatha welcomed Lakshmana.He saluted Seetha.He embraced Sugreeva,Jaambavantha,Angada,Maindudu,Dvividudu,Neeludu,Rushabhudu,Sushenudu,Naludu,Gavaakshudu,Gandhamaadanudu,Sarabhudu,Panasudu and other vaanara warriors.They were all in human forms.They all enquired his welfare.Bharatha hugged Sugreeva again and said that he was their fifth brother.He praised Vibheeshana for his immense help.Sathrughna saluted Raama,Lakshmana and Seetha.Raama saluted Kousalya,Sumithra,Kaikeyi and sage Vasishta.Civilians saluted Raama and gave him a hearty welcome.Raama reciprocated their guesture.Bharatha brought and made Raama wear his shoes.He saluted Raama and said with reverence.Raama!I am handing over your kingdom to you.I could see you come bavk and become the king of Ayodhya.My wish has been fulfilled.You can verify your currency chest,your city,your army and godowns of food grains.Now everything has improved ten fold. Hearing Bharathaas words and seeing his devotion towards his brother,Sugreeva and Vibheeshana wept.May be because they did not have such good relationship with their brothers.More over,they planned to kill and eliminate their brothers from this world. Raama mad Bharatha sit in his lap.They flew to Bharathaas abode.They got down from the plane.Raama ,then,prdered Pushpaka vimaanam to go back to Kubera,its original owner.It took Raamaas permission and went back to Kubera immediately.Raama did not take Vibheeshanaas consent before taking this decision.Because he thought that Vaanaraas and Vibheeshana could fly and reach their abodes without any problem.

Hanumantha explains every thing to Bharatha

Hanumantha explained Bharatha in detail.I think you know what happened till Raama was in Chithrakoota.After sending you back to Ayodhya,Raama left that place and went to Dandakaaranyam.There Raama and Lakshmana killed a demon,named Viraadha.After that,they stayed at few places with sages but finally reached Janasdhaanam.There came Soorpanakha and desired Raama.Lakshmana cut off her nose and ears.As aresult,fourteen thousand demons came to attack Raama.Raama killed all pf them in three ghadiyalu.Then,Maareecha,Raavanaas aide,came in the form of a golden deer.Seetha was besotted by its beauty and requested Raama to bring it for her.Raama went for it and killd it when he suspected that it was demons mesmerism.When the deer shouted Lakshmana!Seetha!feigning Raamaas voice,Seetha was afraid that Raama was in trouble.On her insistance,Lakshmana was forced to leave her and go in search of Raama.In their absence,Raavana came and kidnapped her.Jataayuvu tried to protect Seetha but died in the ensuing fight between it and Raavana.Raavana flew away with her from that place.Some vaanaraas saw this incident from atop a mountain.Raavana took her to Lanka and many a time to seduce her.But,she refused and stopped his advances.He kept her in Ashokavanam under strict supervision. Raama and Lakshmana returned back and found that Seetha was missing.While they were searching for her,they came across Jataayuvu,dead.He was your fathers friend.Raama performed last rites to Jataayuvu.Raama and Lakshmana were searching for Seetha through hills,rivers and forests.There they saw Kabandhudu and killed him.Before dying he told them to go to Rushyamooka parvatham and meet Sugreeva.Hanumantha found them wandering near by and enquired them.Then,being satisfied took them to Dugreeva.They became friends and promised to help each other.Raama killed Vaali,Sugreevaas brother,and made Sugreeva the king of Kishkindha.Sugreeva promised to find Seetha and sent his people in all directions.Ten crores vaanara warriors went in search of Seetha.While we were searching in Vindhya mountains,time limit set was over.We could not find Seetha.We were worrying.Then,we met Jataayuvus elder brother,Sampaathi.He gave us information that Raavana took Seetha to Lanka and she was their captive.Then I lounged and flew in the sky.I crossed the sea and met Seetha.I saw her in Ashokavanam and gave her the ring which Raama gave me to give her ,when I find her.She took that ring and gave me her reply and her mark of identity to Raama.Then I returned to Raama and conveyed Seethaasmessage to him.Then,Raama determined to kill Raavana and started with vaanara warriors.We reached sea and constructed a bridge over the sea.We all crossed the sea and fought with the demons.Neeludu killed Prahasthudu.Lakshmana killed Indrajith,Raavanaas son.Sree Raama killed Kumbhakarna and Raavana.Then all the deities,Indra,Varunudu,Sivudu,Brahma,Dasaradhudu appeared before us.They gave boons to Raama and blessed them.We flew by Pushpaka vimaanam via Kishkindha and now reached Bharadhwaajaasramam.Raama would reach here tomorrow morning,during Pushyami nakshthram. Bharatha was very happy to learn about this news.Giving this news to Bharatha was very important.Because if Raama does not appear before next day day,Bharatha would have done Agnipravesam.

Hanumantha meets Bharatha

Hanumantha took the form of human being.He flew through the sky and reached Srungiberipuram.He met Guhudu and talked to him.Guhaa!your friend,Raama is safe and happy with his brother,Lakshmana and wife,Seetha.He sent me tell you about hs welfare.Today is Panchami.They would stay tonight at Bharadhwaajaasramam and start tomorrow morning for this place.Then ,Hanumanthaflew through sky and came across Parasuraamatheerdham Vaaluki river,River Gomathi,Paalakavanam and many villages and reached Nandigraamam.It was few miles away from Ayodhya. Bharatha was living like a sage.His face was glowing though his body was weak.He was ruling keeping his brothers shoes as his high command.Ministers,purohiths and aides were assisting in sages attire,kaashaaya vasthraalu.When their king was wearing cotton dress,how can civilians be different?Hanumantha saluted Bharatha and said.Hey righteousman!your brother sent me to inform you about his welfare.You need not worry about your brother any more.You can leave your sorrow.You can meet your brother immdiately.He killed Raavana and brought Seetha.He is coming along with his friends and aides to meet you.Bharatha fainted hearing these sweet words.He hugged Hanumantha and spoke in trembling voice.His eyes were filled with tears of joy.Io not know whether you are a deity or a human being.You made me happy by telling the happiest news.I will give you one lakh cows,hundred villages,sixteen maids as gift.After so many years I am hearing about my brother.the idiom that if one lives even after hundred years he can be happy...is proved to be correct.How did the friendship between Raama and vaanaraas become possible? Then Hanumantha replied in detail.

Raama sends Hanumantha to Bharatha

Raama thought for a while and addressed Hanumantha.Hanumanthaa!now you have to go to Ayodhya.On the way,there is Srungiberapuram.There,you meet my friend,Guhugu.Tell him about our welfare.He would feel happy knowing about my news.He would show you the way to Ayodhya.You go and learn about the welfare of my mothers.You contact Bharatha and tell him that after completion of my term in the forest,I came with Lakshmana and Seetha.Tell everything about me in detail to him.Tell him about how Raavana kidnapped Seetha,friendship between Sugreeva and me,demise of Vaali,search for Seetha,the way you crossed the sea,seeing Seetha,constructing the bridge,killing of Raavana,seeing deities,receiving boons,meeting Dasaradha and how we all came here. While telling all these things,observe him keenly.See how he is reacting to all these informations.Percive from his facial expressions regarding what he is thinking,how he is talking,his looks,color of his face,his voice and other minor details and come to a conclusion.It is very difficult for any person to forego the kingdom he is enjoing since long time.If he is interesed in the kingdom,we will leve it to him only.You assess his intentions and tell me correct and fast.If he interested in the kingdom,there is no need for us to go to Ayodhya,We can return back from here itself.

Raama meets sage Bharadhwaaja

Fourteen years of living in the forest have been completed succesfully.On Panchami day,Raama reached Bharadhwaajaasramam and saluted him.He enquired the sage.Hey wamy!is Ayodhya prospering?How is Bharathaas rule?Are our mothers happy?Bharadhwaaja smiled and replied.Raamaa!Bharatha is ruling Ayodhya with your shoes.He is eagerly waiting for your arrival.Every thing and every one is happy.I was very happy then when you left for the woods like a sage.But today I am very happy to note that you have succesfully completed your term,killed your enemies and arriving to Ayidhya with family and friends.I know about all the hardships you passed through during this period.I learnt about killing demons in Janasdhaanam,kidnap of Seetha,friendship with Sugreeva,killing of Vaali,Hanumantha crossing the sea,seeing Seetha,construction of the bridge over the. Sea,killing Raavana,seeing all the deities and their boons to you with the power of my penance.You ask for. Any wish.I will definitely fulfill it.Stay here for a day,be my guest.you can leave for Ayodhya tomorrow. Raama accepted his immediately.He requested the sage.Hey sage!please permit me one boon.though it is not the right time,see that all the trees which are on the way to Ayodhya have ripened and sweet fruits and nectar.Bharadhwaaja sanctioned his wish.As soon as he granted the boon,immediately along the radius of thirty yojanaas,all the trees bore ripened and sweet fruits and nectar.Vaanaraas were very happy.

Raama reaches Bharadhwaajaasramam

Sree Raama ordered the plane to land.He told Sugreeva about Seethaas wish.So,he told every one of them to go into the city and bring their wives fast so that they could continue their journey.There is a good reason behind this request.Vaanaraas left their family members since long time and were fighting for their cause.It is minimum courtesy to let them see their family members first.Next thing is that Seetha gave them a great chance to fly in the Pushpaka vimaanam along with them.Vaanaraas would feel very happy because this guesture of Seetha made their family members feel respected and loved.The main reeason is that Raama had so many attendants and friends,so she too must have her friends to accompany her. Pushpaka vimaanam landed at Kishkindha.Sugreeva and vaanaraas went into the city and told Thaara about Seethaas wish.He told them to get ready fast so that they can go to Ayodhya and see Raama pattaabhishekam.They decorated themselves and came and the journey started again.Raama started explaining and showing all the important places to Seetha. Seethaa!here is Rushya mooka parvatham.This is the place whe Sugreeva and I became friends.This is Pampaa sarassu,lake.Near this lake only I used to feel for you and your absence.On the shores of Pampaasarassu only I met Sabari.Look here!this is the place where I killed Kabandhudu.Look this way!This is the place where Jayaayuvu fought with Raavana.This is the place where I killed Khara,Dooshana and other dmons.Seethaa!look at our Parnasaala.From here only Raavana snatched you and took you away to Lanka.See the river Godaavari.This is Agasthyaasramam.This is the abode of Sutheekshna maharshi.There lies the abode of Sarabhangudu,the sage.Do you remember that Indra came here when we were nearing this place?This is where Iput an end to cruel Viraadha.There is the abode of the great sage,Athri.This is where we met Anasooya devi.Look at Chithrakoota parvatham.Bharatha came here to request me to come back to Ayodhya.Can you see the river Yamuna flowing in full swing?There lies Bharadhwaajaasramam..we can see river Ganges and Srungiberapuram.See this beautiful Sarayoo river.There is Ayodhya.At last,we are able to see our native place.Seetha!salute Ayodhya. Hearing this,vaanaraas,Vibheeshana and others stood up to look at Ayodhya.

Raama bent on pleasing Seetha

Sree Raama made Seetha sit in his lap.He was trying to please her.He was saying again and again that he did all this only to please her and for her sake only.He was showng all the important places from the plane to Seetha.Seethaa!are you seeing the city of Lanka?Viswakarma constructed it beautifully on the mountain top of Thrikoota.Look!this is the battle field.Ths is the place where innumerable demons and vaanaraas lost their lives.Are you seeing that point?That is where I killed Raavana.I killed Raavana because of you only.I killed Kumbhakarna at this point.Prahasthudu fell down at this place.Hanumantha killed Dhoomraakshudu at that zone.Look!Lakshmana killed Indrajith at this point.This is the place where Mandodari along with thousand wives of Raavana lamented the loss of Raavana. See!we can see the sea shore.This is the place where webrested after crossing the sea.Look!this is that bridge which Naludu constructed.Constructing bridge of this dimension is not an easy task.But,all this I did for your sake only.Seethaa!see how this sea is roaring.Are you seeing the Mainaaka hill which came out from the sea to enable Hanumantha to take rest for a while.Look here!This is called Sethubandha theerdham.Earlier,Shiva gifted this place.Look there!Vibheeshana came to me for the first time for protection.There!that is Kishkindha.Capital of Sugreevaas kingdom.See here!This is the place where I killed Vaali. Seetha requested Raama to stop their journey for a while.She requested Raama that she wanted to take Thaara,Sugreevaas wife and other women of vaanara warriors along with her to Ayodhya.

Vibheeshana arranges Pushpaka vimaanam

Raama replied Vibheeshana.Vibheeshanaa!the way you helped me in war itself proves your devotion and dedication towards me.Do not feel bad that I am rejcting your offer.I am eager to meet my brother,Bharatha.He came to Chithrakootam to request me o return back to Ayodhya.He fell on me feet and begged me.But I did not accept hs offer then.He was hurt very much.I should meet him immediately.I am eager to meet my mothers,friends,teachers and civilians.Vibheeshanaa!please permit me to move on my journey.It s not right to over stay here even after completion of my term of fourteen years in the forest.Bharatha would be waiting for me.Please make arrangements to bring Pushpaka vimaanam here.It would mean that you have served me and prayed me. Vibheeshana brought Pushpaka vimaanam before Raama and came to Raama and rquested for his orders.Raama replied hm.Vibheeshana!Vaanara warriors are the back bone behind this huge victory.They made this possible by their sacrifice.So,gift them with clothes,diamons and ornaments to all.We have to respect those who were ready to sacrifice their lives even to bring victory to me.By doing this,your fame would increase many fold. Vibheeshana did as was told by Raama. Seetha,Raama and Lakshmana alighted Pushpaka vimaanam.Sree Raama made Seetha,who was shy,sit in hs lap.Then Sree Raama addressed Vibheeshana,Sugreeva and vaanara warriors like this.Friends!you helped me a lot.I am givng you permission to leave.All of you can to your homes and be happy and prosperous.Sugreevaa!you did what all a friend is expected to do.Go to Kishkindha with your army and be happy.Vibheeshana!rule Lanka,which I gifted you in rightful manner.Settle at Lanka only.If you behave like that,even Indra can not defeat you.Do nt be greedy to usurp other kingdoms. Hey friends!I am going to Ayodhya,capital of our kingdom.Please permit me. Hearing these words they put forth their request.Vaanaraas requested him.Hey lord Raamaa!we too want to come and visit Ayodhya.We will not do any mischief.We would be cautious anf good mannered.We would see your coronation.We want to salute your mother,Kousalya.Then we would return to our homes.Please,do not say no to our request.Permit us to come along with you. Raama happily agreed to their request.He said.I too like to see you come with me .Sugreevaa!come ino the plane along with your vaanara warriors.Vibheeshana!you too come with your ministers.Every one sat in Pushpaka vimaanam.Taking Raamaas permission,Pushpaka vimaanam took off into th sky.

Indra sanctions boons to Raama

Indra addressed Raama.Raamaa!just as our appearance made you happy,we are also pleased to see you.Ask for anything.I will sanction you happily.Then,Raama asked.Devendraa!please hear my wish.Make all pf them alive who fought for me and lost their lives.See that all of them are alive again and meet their families,because they left their families to serve me.Make them hale and healthy and regain their former stature.See that wherever vaanaraas live,their is no shortage of fruits and tubers at all the times.To this,Indra replied.Raamaa!the boons you asked are not small ones.Even then,I will sanction them because I gave word to you.May your wishes materialise.All the dead vaanaraas got up as if from sleep.There were no wounds on their bodies and no pains.They were all astonished and happy.They met their relations and friends.They saluted Raama.Deities praised Raama and told him.Raamaa!start your journey to Ayodhya.Accept Seetha.Make your mothers ,Bharatha and Sathrughna happy.Get throned and make your people happy.Saying this,they left to their abodes. Next day,Vibheeshana went to Raama and told him.Hey lord Raamaa!these women have come to bathe you and adorn you in royal dress.Please accept those services.To that Raama replied.Vibheeshanaa!first see that Sugreeva and other vaanaraa warriors have bathed.Bharatha is waiting for my arrival since long.My mind is not inclined to bathe and adorn without meeting Bharatha.Please do not think otherwise.I have to reach Ayodhya at any cost very fast.Vibheeshana was happy to reply.Hey lord Raama!do not worry.I can make you reach Ayodhya in a single day.I have Pushpaka vimaanam.You do not have to worry.Please accept my offer.Stay for one day and accept my offerings to you.I am wishing to serve you,Lakshmana and Seetha and make you happy.Be my guests for one day.I made all the arrangements and I am ready.Stay here for one day with your wife,brother,friends and vaanara warriors,accept my offerings and relax.I am your servant and I am requesting you sincerely.

Dasaradha blesses Seetha and Lakshmana

Then,Dasaradha hugged Lakshmana and said.Lakshmanaa!you served Seetha and Raama and made me happy.You releived fruits of your devotion towards your brother.If Raama is happy,it is deemed that you have gained righteousness,fame,heaven and glory.There is no doubt about it.Raama is a person who does good to the entire universe.Plase serve your brother.All will be well for you.See how Indra,other deities and great sages are praying Raama.Lakshmanaa!Raama is the essence of Vedaas.Raama is nothing other than Brahmam.You attained and achieved great fame by serving Raama.Lakshmana saluted his father. Dasradha ,then came to Seetha and advised her.Seetha!do not be angry with Raama because he hurledharsh words at you and doubted your character and told you that he was not accepting you.His sole intention was to prove your purity to the entire world.Nothing more than that.No one need tell you regarding how you should serve your husband.Even then I am telling you.Raama is the ultimate God to you. Like thos Dasaradha blessed them and left for Indralokam.

Dasaradha meets Raama

Maheswara then told Raama.Raamaa!due to our luck,you could kill Raavana.Entire universe is now free of the fear of Raavana.Now ,you can go back to Ayodhya and live with Bharatha,Kousalya,Kaikeyi and Sumithra.Make your friends happy.Be throned as Ikshvaaku king and prosper.You perform Aswamedhayaagam and receive fame and accolades.Then come back to Vaikuntam.Raamaa!your father,Dasaradha has come to meet you.Because of you he is saved from saying lies and achieved Indralokam.Both the brothers,salute your father.Raama and Lakshmana saluted their father.Dasaradha hugged Raama with affection and made him sit in his lap.He said.Raamaa!pleasures in Swargam and treatment by Deities are not greater than the happiness I am finding in seeing you.You filfilled your oath of livng in the forest for fourteen years like a hermit.You have killed your enemy.I am very happy about it.Iam still hurt by the way Kaikeyi talked to you at the time of your leaving Ayodhya for the woods.But now ,by hugging you and embracing you,all my sadness is gone and I am relieved of the pain of your loss.I recently came to know that deities have planned all this so that Raavana could be killed.Those ,who see you being throned and live under your leadership are really blessed.Meet Bharatha,who adores you.He is a good charactered person.You did a great feat by killing Raavana and all deities are happy about your achievement.Reach Ayodhya soon,get throned as king and live a long,prosperous life along with your brothers. Then,Raama saluted his father and made a request.Father!forgive Kaikeyi and Bharatha.You,then,said,I am foregoing you and your son.Please take back those words.See that your curse does not adversely affect them.Dasaradha agreed to forgive them.

Seetha comes out of the fire unblemished

After hearing the words of Brahma,God of Fire brought Seetha from the fire. And handed her over to Raama.Seetha was glowing like morning Sun.God of Fire handed over Seetha,who wore red saree,with black hair,fresh floral garland,ornaments and natural beauty and youth and clean heart,to Raama.He said,Raamaa!her is Seetha.She is unblemished.She never crossed you either by words,intentions,looks or by mind and heart.Accept your clean hearted wife.Do not argue with me and say No.This is my order.Raama was happy hearing The words of God of Fire.He wept for his unfamous act.He told the God of Fire.It is true that Seetha has not commited any sin.She had been in Raavanaas palace for a long time.If I had accepted her without putting her to test,this world would have made fun of me.It would have said that Raama is a fool and lustful man.It is not as if I do not know Seethaas character and she has not done anything wrong.But I wanted to prove her innocence and character to the entire world.There was no other reason other than this behind my silence while she was entering the fire.Seetha can protect herself by her character.Just as how sea does not cross the shore,Raavana can never pollute her mind.Just as sun rays can not stay away from Sun,Seetha can never be separated from me.Even I can not live without her.Hey deities!how can I not follow your orders.I will definitely accept Seetha.Raama ,thus,accepted Seetha and they lived happily here after.

Seethaas agnipravesam

Seetha devi turned down her face and circumscribed Raamalowly.Then she went near the fire lit by Lakshmana and saluted deities and Brahmins.She said these words.If my heart was loving Raama and never wavered even for a second,this fire would protect me.If I am good charactereed and Raamaas accusations and allegations regarding me were wrong,may this Fire protect me.If at any time,I had never crossed Raamaa by action,mind and heart and words,may this fire protect me.If Sun,Moon,Air,Directions,Days and Nights,Dawn and Dusk Earth,all five primary elements agree that I am good charactered,may this fire protect me. Seetha said these words and did pradakshinam to the fire and entered the burning fire.All the people,deities and sages of three universes were looking stunned.Demons and vaanaraas were crying aloud.Hearing these laments,Raama was sad.He wept.In the mean time,Kuberudu,Yamudu,Indra,Varunudu,Sivudu,Brahma came in their respective chariots .Sree Raama saluted them. Deities addressed him.Raamaa!you are intelligent.You are the creator.While Seetha is entering the fire why are you just looking at and delaying?You are a great soul.Why are you unable to realise your self.Raamaa!you are Ruthudhaama,prajaapathi among Ashtavasuvulu.You are the creator of these three universes.Among Rudrass,you are Mahaadeva,eighth Rudra.You are the fifth among Saadhyulu.Aswini devathalu are your ears.Sun and Monn are your eyes.Before creation and after exinguision,you can only be seen.Why are you looking dumb ,like a common man when Seetha is entering fire. Raama replied.I am under the impression that I am an ordinary man.I am the son of Dasaradha.I am Raama.What are you talking about me? I am unable to understand.If Brahma tells me as to who I am and why I was born,I want to hear.To this,Brahma replied.Raamaa!You are Naaraayana.You are Lord Vishnu.Seetha is Lakshmi.To kill Raavana,you are born as a human being.

Raama hurts Seetha with his words

Raama addressed Seetha.Seetha!I won the war,defeated my enemy and proved my valor.The insult I felt when Unworthy demon kidnapped my wife and my enemy were erased at the same instant and I fulfilled my oath.The shame I felt which was caused by fate was cleared by me by my strength and determination.Hanumantha crossed the sea and burnt Lanka.He had done many great acts.Sugreeva and Vibheeshana helped me a lot.All their help bore fruit now.Seetha was astonished to hear these harsh words from Raama.She wept uncontrollably.Seeing her weep made Raama angrier still.He was still more harsh. seetha! Realize the fact that I did not fight for you.I did all this to restore my reputation and my respect of our clan.That is all!I am doubting your character.Just as a person with troubled eyes is hurt by bright lights,I am doubting your character.Simile is appropriate here because the problem is in perception of Raama but not Seetha.If you can not see bright light,problem is with your eyes but not with the lights. Seetha!I do not want you!You can go wherever you want to go,I am giving you permission.No person from established and renouned family background would accept a woman,who has stayed in another mans house for long.You came down from his lap.Characterless Raavana might have looked at you with desire and lust.How can I,who was born in a great dynasty,accept you?Seetha!I am not interested in you.You can go wherever you feel like going.I have thought about this aspect a lot and then only came to this conclusion.That is why I am advising like this.You can stay at Lakshmana,Bharathudu,Sugreevudu or Vibheeshanudu.That is your choice.You are so beautiful.Would Raavana have been not tempted by your nearness?you were in his place andwithin his reach. Seetha was shocked to hear these words.She was devastated by the way,he was accusing her celibacy.He was hurling abuses,one after another before so many people.He was humiliating her by his low opinion about her character.She shrinked and shriveled by shame.She was weeping.She cleansed her face with her veil and talked in low and sad voice.Hey warrior!why are you talking like an ordinary man to an ordinary woman?The words you uttered should never have been said by you.I should never have heard those words from you. I am not tainted.I am taking oath on my character and telling you this.May be there might have been women like as you said.By just one or two incidents,you can not blame entire womanhood.Is it appropriate?You need not have any doubts about my character.Raavana touched me when I was unconscious.It is not my mistake.It is the mistake of fate.My heart,on which I have full control,is always with you.When I was unconscious,my body was not in my control.What could I do?How can I be blamed for it?We have been together for a long time.Even after that,if you fail to read and assess my character correctly,what is there to hope for me?It is as good as if I am killed.If you sent this message that you want to disown me through Hanumantha,I would have died then itself.You and your friends might have been relieved of this meaningless procedure and delay.Out of anger,you talked like a cheap,mannerless man.Though I have been recognised as daughter of Janaka,in reality I was born from Earth,Ayonija.I am not ordinary.I was not born from mothers womb.You never considered my birth,my character,your love towards me and my respect and adoration towards you before speaking.You hurled so many abuses against me.You married me at a tender age and solemnly took oath before Agni.Where have all those words of cOmmitment gone? Seetha addressed Lakshmana.Lakshmanaa!prepare funeral pyre.That is the only medicine for my grief.I do not like to live amidst all these accusations.In view of such great congregation,my husband accused me unnecessarily and declared his disinterest in me and left me for my fate.I have no other option but to die in fire. See how cunning is Raama.He never mentioned Agnipravesam to Seetha,but made her resort to take that ultimate step.When Seetha accused Lakshmana of bad intentions in Panchavati,Lakshmana said in anger,You should be burnt alive!May be that is becoming reality now.Because Lakshmana mhimself is preparing funeral pyre.He lokied at Raamaas face after Seethaas declaration that she would burn herself.He understood that Raamaas consent was there and that was what he was asking for.

Seetha stands before Raama

Raama called Vibheeshana. And told him to bring Seetha to his presence.To see her,there was stampede among vaanaraas and demons.to disburse them,Vibheeshanaas men were giving rders and whipping the unruly crowd.Hearing this noise,Raama got angry and told Vibheeshana.Vibheeshanaa!why are you arding them off?put an end to it!realise that all are our people.Good character is the only protection to a woman.temples,clothes,fences and curtains and respect given by the palace staff are not necessary.There is no nevessity for veils.There is nothing for a woman to be seen during sad times,danger,war fields,choosing husband ie swayamvaram,yanjnaas and marriage places.Now,Seetha is in the war field.She has the experience of difficulties.There is no need for a veil before me.People around me are my friends.She can come here without any hesitation. Vibheeshana felt for the way Raama talked about Seetha.But,silently he left the place to bring Seetha to Raamaas presence.Lakshmana,Sugreeva,Hanumantha also were very sad hearing the harsh note in Raamaas voice and words.They were afraid that the love might have been lost from Raamaas end due to the gap of time they were separated.But,Seetha was totally unaware of these developments.Vibheeshana was bringing Seetha to Raamaas presence.She as feeling shy to come amidst masses and she wore veil and walked with uncertainty.She addressed Raama,Aaryaputhraa! And cried silently.Raama was God to her.She was looking at his face with love,affection,happiness and wonder.She was under the impression that Raama was the same one with lots of love towards her as she had known earlier.She came out of her anguish and was happy to look into his face with contentment.

Raama hears Seethaas reply

Hanumantha returned to Raama and told him.Hey Lord Raamaa!you have to see Seetha for whose sake you did all this.She is sad with desperation.She is happy about your victory and she wants to see you.Tears ran down Raamaas cheeks hearing that reply.He thought for a second,sighed and looked down.He addressed Vibheeshana.Vibheeshana!see that Seetha is bathed,decorated with valuable dress and ornaments and bring her here. Vibheeshana went to Seetha along with his palace lady servants and requested her.Hey mother!you should bathe and decorate.you should reach Raamaas presence on a palaquin.Seetha replied that she did not want to decorate herself.She wanted to meet him as she was till then.But Vibheeshana convinced her that she had to according to the wish of her husband and it was his wish that she should come to him clean and neat and fully decorated.Seetha agreed.Servant maids of the palace bathed her and decorated her richly.Vibheeshana made her sit in the palanquin and took her to Raama. Raamaas mind was full of various thoughts.Thinking about Seetha,he was happy,sad and angry all at the same time.

Ruksha geetha

Ruksha geetha is the story which Seetha mentioned to Hanumantha.The story goes like this.One day,one archer went to forest.When a tiger tried to attack him,he climbed a tree to save himself.One bear was living on that tree.Tiger called that bear and told it to throw the man from the tree because he was their enemy and he came ti kill them.But,the bear refused to do like that.It replied the tiger.Let him be our enemy.He came to this tree seeking protction on which I live.So,I would not put him to any harm. After some time,Bear slept.Tiger called the archer and told him.Hey archer!throw that bear down to earth.If you do so,I will leave you and would not kill you.Archer was happy that hs life would be saved if he did as to the bidding of tiger.He tried to throw the bear from the tree.But bear did not fall down.Hwne he tried to throw it down,it woke up and latched on to another branch and saved itself. Then,tiger addressed the bear.See!I laready told yoy that this man is our enemy.That fact is proved now.He is a sinner.Though you helped him,he tried to harm you.So,at least now,you hear my words and throw him down.Bear refused to do so even now.It replied the tiger in this fashion.Even if he did try to harm me,I would not harm him.He came to this tree on which I live for protection,it is my bound duty to help him and protect him. It is the nature of good natured people to help those also who try to harm them or really harm them too. Tiger learnt that its words are not having any impact on the. Bear and left that place.Archer slowly got down from the tree and went away alive.

Raama sends Hanumantha to Seetha

Raama then turned towards Hanumantha and told him in harsh tone.Hanumanthaa!take Vibheeshanaas permission and enter Lanka.Tell Seetha that myself,Lakshmana,Sugreeva and other warriors are safe and that Raavana is no more.Bring her answer to me.Hanumantha went and saw Seetha in pathetic position.She was not clean,she was dusted,she was sad and sitting under a tree.Demon women were surrounding her.Hanumantha went near her,saluted her and told his name.She saw him with blank looks for a second,then remembered him and was happy. Hanumantha was relieved that she recognised him.He told her.Mother!Sree Raama is safe and happy.Lakshmana,Sugreeva,Vibheeshana,vaanara army are all safe and happy.With the help of Vibheeshana and Lakshmanaas righteousness,Raama won this war.Raama asked me to pass on this information to you.Devi!I am going to tell you a happy news.It would definitely make you happy.You are alive only because I am lucky.We achieved victory in this war.You need not be sad any more,be happy.Our enemy,Raavana ,is dead.Lanka is in our hands.To relieve you from enemys grip,I took oath.I fulfilled it by full determination,spending sleepless nights,constructing bridge over the sea,coming to Lanka and killing Raavana.You need not be afraid that you are in Raavanaas abode.I handed over thiskingdom to Vibheeshana.Be content that you are in your house only.Vibheeshana would come now to see you. Seetha heard the message sent by Raama and was silent for some time.Hanumantha was tensed up to hear her reply.Hey mother!why are you not replying any thing?what are you thinking?,he enquired. Seetha was overwhelmed with happiness.she replied.Hanumanthaa!hearing you telling me about Raamaas safety made me stunned for a little while.I am thinking of what I should gift you.Nothing would equal the happiness you brought me with your news.Hanumantha was relieved.He said.Mother!hearing you talk in a pleasant manner itself is enough for me me.That is the greatest gift you could give me.It is more than acquiring greatest kingdom.I am blessed because I could see Raamaas happy and contented face after wining the war.That is the ultimate happiness to me.Seetha replied him.Hanumaa!you are the only right person who can speak so nicely and beautifully.Your parents should be praised for having such a great son.There is no doubt that strength,enthusiasm,scholastic skills,bravery,ferociousness and calm nature ....all these traits are shining in you. Hanumantha was very happy to hear these words.He said to her.Mother !I have a small wish.I want to kill these demons who troubled you till now.I want to thrash them till death.Please permit me to do so.Seetha replied.Hanuman!son!these are mere servants of Raavana.On his orders only,they troubled me.We should not be angry with them.Even other wise,I suffered because of my bad times.Where is their fault in this?Raavana is dead.Here afterwards!they would not hurt me.I want to give you another advice.A knowledgeable person would not harm even his enemy.This is said in Ruksha geetha.Hanumaa!I would not permit you to punish them even if they had harmed me earlier.There is no one in this universe who was never wrong in his life.We should be kind towards all.Hanumantha praised her great character.Seetha put forth her wish that she wants to see Raama.Hanumatha told her that she would definitely be seeing Raama in full glory at the earliest and took leave of her and reached Raama.

Vibheeshana throned as king of Lanka

Raama was happy like Indra,when he killed Vruthraasura.Every one was happy.Deities,Gandhavaas and sages ,who came to see Raama Raavana war,praised Raamaas valor,daring acts of Hanumantha and other vaanara warriors,Sugreevaas intelligence,Lakshmanaas affection and valor.They returned to their abodes.Sree raama thanked Maathali and sent him back to Indra with the chariot.Sree Raama hugged Sugreeva.Every one returned to their tents. Raama called Lakshmana and told him.Lakshmanaa!Vibheeshana proved his friendship and helped me.He has great regard for me.Make him the king of Lanka.This is my most important wish.Lakshmana called for golden vessels to be brought to bring sea waters and sent vaanaraas to bring them.He made Vibheeshana sit on a throne and did Abhishekam with those waters and made Vibheeshana ,the king of Lanka,chanting veda manthraas.Vibheeshanaas ministers and his men were happy.Vibheeshana pacified his people and came back to Raama.He brought flowers,eatables and spices to give to Raama.Though he had no need for them,Raama accepted them to make Vibheeshana happy.

Vibheeshana performs last rites to Raavana

Raama advised Vibheeshana to send women into the city and perform last rites to Raavana.Vibheeshana replied him.Hey lord!would it be apt if I perform last rites to the sinner.Raavana is an enemy to me in the form of a brother.Even if the people blameme that I am a bad brother for not having performed last rites,they would realise I am right.Because they would remeber the atrocities done by my brother and side me.Raama felt happy hearing Vibheeshanaas words.He answered him?King of demons!Iwon this war with your help.I will give you a good advice.hear it.It is true that Raavana has committed sins and crimes.But we should not also forget that he is a great warrior.We should not continue our enmity once the enemy is dead.So,he is eligible for last rites.So perform last rites to Raavana.With this your fame would increase. With Raamaas permission,Vibheeshana prepared for the procedure.Ruthviks prepared sandal wood bed and covered it with the skin of a white deer.They set threthaagnulu.They mixed curd and ghee and kept in a vessel.They decorated the dead body of Raavana and kept it on this pyre.Vibheeshana burnt it chanting manthraas appropriate for the occasion.He bathed and gave udakadaanam to raavana and saluted it.He sent the ladies into the city and came and stood before Raama.

Mandodari laments Raavanaas death

After knowing about Raavanaas death,all the women in the palace came to the battle field to see their husband.They wept and few hugged his body.Few held his feet and wept.Few fainted.Few kept his head in their lap and wept.They remembered his greatness.All of them thought that if Raavana had heeded Vibheeshanaas advice,this stage would not have come. Mandodari is Raavanaas queen.She is the mother of Indrajith.She is the daughter of Mayudu.She was a great Pathivratha.She lamented in this fashion.Hey lord!even Indra was afraid of you.I am wondering how a mere mortal could kill you.I doubt very much that Raama is not a mortal.Way back,when Raama killed so many dmons in Janasdhaanam,then itself I knew that he was not a mortal.He could come to Lanka,where in even Deities could not enter.We were worried the day when Hanumantha entered Lanka and created so much havoc.Vaanaraas built a bidge on the sea.Is it possible for a mortal?Then itself I realised that he was above humans.Yama himself might have come in the form of Raama ,to kill you.Or,may be Indra might have come in this form.Oh!I am a fool.Can Indra and Yama defeat you in war?Definitely,he might have been Lord Vishnu with Sankham and Chakram.Vishnu has come in person to put an end to you. Earlier you had control over your senses and could defeat deities.But now you succumbed to physical pleasures and they got control over you and killed you.I told you many times not to develop enmity with Raama.did you hear?Unnecessarily,you desired Seetha and brought problem for all of us.It is such a sin to kidnap a great pathivratha,Seetha.Because of that only you were burned to ashes.You should have burnt o d eath the very moment you touched her.But at that time,good effect of your earlier penance helped you.Every one reaps the fruits of his doings,whether good or bad.Vibheeshana wasgood at heart.So,he is happy now.You did sins and they have showed their effect now.You were blind in your lust for Seetha.In reality,she is not as beautiful as me.For every one,there should be a reason to die.For you,it came in the form of Seetha.Seetha and Raama would be happy from now on wards.But,I should lead a life of widow.Riches are unpredictable.I never dreamed that I would become a widow one day.I was very proud at one time that I am the wife of Raavana,who defeated even Indra.But I have no more pride now.Your body is full of arrows.I am unable to hug you also properly.Can anyone really kill you?may be I am dreaming!No!it is not a dream.It is reality.The fact that I am still alive even after losing you proves that I have no emotions like a rock.I was half dead on the day of Indrajiths death.Now I am completely lost.Take me to yamapuri along with you.All your wives have discarded their veils and come here.Why are you not angry with them?Earlier you molested good women,killed their husbands and made them widows.Their curses made you die in the hands of a mortal.Tears of women never go waste.You claimed three universes with your valor.But you kidnapped a pathivratha like a small thief and proved your cowardice.Your valor has gone to dogs the day you kidnapped Seetha like a thief.Your fear was the signal of your down fall.Whatever you did,whether bad or good,you left this world.But how should I bear this tragedy and live?All this showdown resulted just because you would not hear the good advice given by Vubheeshana,Maareechudu,Kumbhakarnudu and my father. Weeping like this,Mandodari fainted over Raavanaas body.His other wives attended her.

Vibheeshana

Vibheeshana saw his elder brother lying dead in the war field and wept.He was saying to his dead brother.Hey brother!you are such a warripr.You are supposed to lie on a bed of roses and in wealth but you are lying on the ground dead.I told you about the consequences then itself.But you were clouded by desire and lust and paid a deaf ear to my advice.You knew law,you were righteous,and you were valiant and famous.We should not speak ill of the dead.So,Vibheeshana was praising the good qualities of Raavana.Raavana was daring,kind hearted,patient,valiant and was doing penance.But such a great demon tree succumbed to the whirl wind,Raama and fell down. Raama pacified Vibheeshana.Vibheeshana!Raavana was agreat warrior.He fought in the war and died like a true warrior.We should not feel sorry for him.Think about what should be done next.Vibheeshana replied Raama.Hey lord Raama!Raavana was a great soul.He lead a majestic life.He spent many years in penance.He was a great scholar,Aahithaagni and Karmatudu.If you permit me I want to do last rites to him in proper manner.Raama answered him.Vibheeshana!do all the procedures as per prescribed mode.Once he is dead,our enmity also comes to an end.

Raavana killed at last!

The battle took place for seven days and nights without any gap.Maathali advised Raama.Hey lord Raama!why are you simply following Raavana like an innocent and ignorant man?You are just defending his attack.That is all you are doing.Raavanaas down fall has started.You release Brahmaasthram on Raavana and kill him.With this advice,Raama remembered.Sage Agasthya had given him the arrow,which Brahma had made for Indra.Sree Raama took the arrow,chanted the manthraas and made it effective.He released it onto Raavanaas chest.It reached its target and grabbed the life of Raavana.It fell on the ground and returned back to its original place in Akshayathuneeram.Raavanaas body fell from the chariot on to the ground.Remaining demons ran into the city.Vaanaraas were happy roared like lions.Deities sounded trumpets to mark the victory.They rained flowers on Raama.Deities and sages praised Raama.Troubles of dieties has ended at last.Sky became clear.Lakshmana,Sugreeva,Vibheeshana,Hanumantha and all the other vaanara warriors prayed Raama.Raama fulfilled his oath and he was surrounded by his friends and glowed like Devendra in Heaven. Raavanaas head cropped up one hundred and one times inspite of being beheading successively.At last,he died by Brahmaasthram which went into his heart directly.If we hear anything hood,we forget it thenext moment.Inspite of hearing it many a time,we do not take it seriously.We give weight to it only when we take it to our heart.So,there is no use taking Brahmajnaanam to our head.We should take it to our hearts.Then only knowledge is imbibed.

Raavanaas might diminishes

Raama and Raavana fought a fierce battle.Deities,Gandharvaas,Siddhulu and sages came to view it.There were many omens to be seen which confirmed the victory of Raama and defeat of Raavana.Raavanaas horses wept.Raama observed these signs and fought with enthusiasm.Both the armies stopped fighting and stood silent viewing the fight of Raama and Raavana.Raavana tried to break the Raamaas flagpost but his arrows could not come near it.Raama released one arrow which sharply broke down Raavanaas flag post.Raavana released arrows on to Raamaas horses but they did not affect them.Desperate that his arrows did not trouble Raamaas horses,Raavana rained arrows on Raama.He used maces,spears and wheels besdes arrows to attack Raama.He used his magical powers and rained arrows also.But Raama warded all of them efficiently.They released nnumerable number of arrows and they covered the entire sky.It was as if they constructed another sky with arrows.Their chariots were moving in many intricate directions to trouble the enemy.Earth shuddered.Sun dimmed.Air did not move.Deities were afraid.All the deities and sages. Who came there said in unision,may all the Brahmins and cows be blessed!may Raama win this war!viewing their war,they said ths.There is nothing to equal this fight.Sky is the limit for sky.Sea is the limit for sea.For Raama Raavana war,Raama Raavana war is the limit. Raama got angry and released a particular arrow and cut off Raavanaas head.But,immediately another head cropped up.Sree Raama cut off that head also.Still,another head popped up.Like that it happened one hundred and one times.Till then,Raavana did not die.Sree Raama started thinking within himself.I killed Maareecha.I killed Khara,Dooshana,Viraadha,Kabandha and many demons.The arrows which I sed on them did not show their effect on Raavana.Why?What might be the reason for all of them becoming uneffective?Thinking like this,Raama released arrows on Raavana continuously.Raavana also threw Maces,spears and many other weapons at Raama.War continued for seven days and nights.

Agasthya preaches Aadithya hrudayam to Raama

Sage Agasthya also came to see the war.To encourage Raama and to pass on energy to kill the enemy,Agasthya preached Aadithya hrudayam.He told Raama.Raamaa!when one is in difficulties,afraid of anything,If we read Aadithya hrudayam,our unhappiness and sorrow go away.Do Pooja to God Sun with concentration and sincerity and chant this Aadithya hrudayam three times.You would definitely win.You can kill Raavana even this very second.Sage Agasthya advised Raama and went away.Raama was no more unhappy.He did Aachamanam,purifid himself and did pooja to Sun God.He chanted Aadithya hrudayam thrice with devotion and concentration.Sun God stood before him and blessed him saying ,Raavana would die.be quick. Raama determined to kill Raavana.Raavana came well prepared to do war with Raama.Sree Raama saw Raavana and told Maathali like this.Maathali!have you observed?Raavana is coming in the anti clock wise direction.He would definitely die.Take our chariot opposite Raavana.Be clear headed and drive without any fear.You are great and drove this chariot even for Indra.There is no necessity to tell you all this particularly.I am just reminding you because this is war.Do not think that I am teaching you anything. Maathali drove the chariot.He made Raavanaas chariot move in anti clockwise direction and hastened his chariot.Dust that blew due to the increased speed of Raamaas chariot unsettled Raavana.Raavana got angry and released arrows at Raama.Raama took the bow and arrows given by Maathali to him.

Raavana scolds charioteer

Raavana revived after sometime.He saw where he was and got angry with the charioteer.Fool!you made me ashamed of my self.Without telling me,why did you take me away from my enemy?In reality,you harmed me.You destroyed my fame,valiancy and my guts which I built since long time.I love wars.You humiliatd me before my greatest enemy.I doubt that you have taken bribe from our enemy side and did this nasty job.Would any friend do such an act?If you still remeber the good I have done to you earlier,turn the chariot and take me to war field before my enemy comes here searching for me. Charioteer replied him humbly.Hey lord!I am not a fool.I was neither afraid nor took any bribe from the enemy.I did not forget the good you have done to me in the past.I did this for your safety only.You were tired in the war.There was no enthusiasm in you.Even horses tied to the chariot were dull and depleted.Charioteer should always be alert and observe all the minor facts also.He should observe the circumstances,traits,helplessness,happiness,unhappiness,strength and weakness and many other factors of the person who alights it and does war from the chariot.If it is apt to go forward he should do so.If he has to back out,he should do that,too.I strongly felt that it would be good if I give some rest to the horses and you.That is the only reason for my backing out.Out of respect and love towards you only,I did this.I am ready to do as per your bidding now. Raavana told him to take the chariot facing Raama.He would not return unless he kills the enemy.Saying so,Raavana gave his bracelet to the charioteer as a gift.He entered the war field again.

Raavana becomes blank while fighting

Sree Raama took his bow to start fighting again.Raavana also alighted another chariot and came back.Both attacked with arrows.Seeing Raavana on a chariot and Raama fighting from the ground,Indra sent his chariot and his charioteer Maathali to Raama.Maathali came and addressed Raama.Hey lord!wishing your victory,Indra has sent this chariot to you.He sent this bow,arrows,armor,and power for your use.Please accept them.Please get on to the chariot.I will be your charioteer.Devendra won many battles and killed many demons using this chariot.You too kill Raavana now.Raama circumscribed the chariot,saluted it and alighted on to it. Both have good knowledge about various weapons and their usage.They used Gaandharvaasthram against Gaandharvaasthram and Daivaasthram against Daivaasthram.Raavana released Raakshasaathram.Innumerable serpants came t from that.Raama released Garudaasthram and nullified its effect.Raavana rained arrows on Raama.He attcked Maathali also.He broke the flag post.He release arrows on the horses also.Seeing Raama in trouble,Deities and sages were very sad.Vibheeshana and vaanara warriors also were worried.With ten heads and twenty arms,Raavana looked like Mainaaka parvatham.He was releasing arrows with all the twenty hands.Raama could not even use his bow and arrows properly. Raama got angry with this situation.He was fearful to see.Even Raavana was afraid to look at him.To see this war,deities and sages came.Demons encouraged Raavana.Sages and deities encouraged Raama to win.Raavana took a spear and told Raama that he would kill him then itself.Raavana threw the spear at Raama.Raama released many arrows to stop it but failed miserably,Raama got angry and released the Sakthi given by Maathali.It broke the spear released by Raavana.Raama released arrows on horses of the chariot.He released arrows onto Raavanaas chest and three arrows on his forehead.Blood oozed from Raavanaas body and he became dull.But he too rained thousand of arrows on Raama.Raamaas body was full of arrows released by Raavana but he did not waver.Raavana released arrows still.Raamaas body was full of injuries and blood oozed from his body. Raama scolded Raavana.Hey Raavana!you are evil minded.When I was not present,you kidnapped my wife like a thief.Death will engulf you definitely.Do you really think you are a warrior once you do cheap acts?Are you not ashamed of your acts?If you had tried to take my wife in my presence,I would definitely have killed you then itself like I killed Khara.I will kill you and throw your dead body to jackals.Raama rained arrows on Raavana.His enthusiasm increased.He remembered all his weapons and their usage.His efficiency in releasing them also increased remarkably.Undersatnding this good sign,he released arrows sharply hiting the target.Vaanaraas also rained Boulders on Raavana. Raavana was confused.His mind became blank.His mind lost its grip.He stopped aiming and releasing arrows on the enemy.He was immobile mentally and physically.It was as if he was about to die.Observing all these signs and symptoms,hischarioteer took him away from the war field.

Hanumantha brings Sanjeevini mountain

Raavana told Sushenudu like his.Sushena!Lakshmana is bleeding like this.How can I fight properly when my brothers condition is like this?I am ashamed.Bow is slipping from my hands.My arrows are becoming weak.Because of tears in my eyes my sight is dim.There is no strength in my limbs.I am not firm.I am sorry seeing my brother like this being injured by Raavana.I am not feeling like living any more.If my brother dies what use os it if I am alive or dead?I do not care for the result of this war,kingdom,my life or even Seetha.If we want we can have many wives,relations.But we can not find our brothers any where. To this,Sushenudu pacified Raama.Hey lord Raama!Lakshmana is alive.His aura did not diminish.His face is not distorted.His face has not become pale.For those alone who live longer,faces would be shining like this.If one is dead,his face would not be like this.Do not worry.Lakshmana is alive.His heart is beating.He is asleep.There is nothing else to worry.Sushenudu turned towards Hanumantha and directed him.Hanumantha!go and get those medicinal herbs from Sanjeevini mountain,which you brought last time on Jaambavanthaas request.Be fast!There are Visalyakarani,Suvarnakarani,Sanjeevani and Sandhaanakarani herbs on that mountain.To make Lakshmana revive to normalcy,you should bring them immediately. Hanumantha went to that mountain with medicinal herbs.He could not identify them.He did not know what to do.He thought within himslf.It is better to take this mountain itself.I am unable to identify Visalya karani.Otherwise,it might be too late.He ,then,rocked the mountain three times,distanced it from the earth and lifted it.He then brought it and told Sushenudu.I was unable to identify the herbs.So,I brought the mountain itself.Every one was astonished seeing Hanumantha do such a magnificient act.Sushenudu took the herbs that he wanted,crushed them and dripped the extract into Lakshmanaas nostrils.Lakshmana revived immediately.By inhaling the herbs,he was relieved of his pain also.Lakshmana sat up.Raama wept with happiness.He hugged his brother lovingly. Raama told his brother.hey brother!you revived because I am lucky.If not,why do I need this life,Seetha or victory in this war?Lakshmana replied him in weak voice.Raamaa!why are you talking like this?These are the words to be spoken by weaklings.You should not utter them.Great people should complete their mission,whatever the circumstances be.Forget about my condition and kill Raavana and complete the oath you have taken.I wish that you would kill by todays evening at any cost.Fulfill my wish and kill Raavana by evening.

Raavana attacks Vibheeshana and Lakshmana

Lakshmana got angry and released seven arrows which broke Raavanaas flag post.Raavanaas flag has the emblem of mans head.Lakshmana killed his charioteer with a single arrow.Releasing five arrows he broke Raavanaas bow.In the mean time,Vibheeshaa killed chariot horses with his mace. Raavana got very angry with his brother.He got down from the chariot and released powerful Sakthi towards Vibheeshana.Before it touched Vibheeshana,Lakshmana released three arrows and nullified the Sakthi.Seeing Sakthi crumbling into pieces,Raavana released Mahaasakthi to kill Vibheeshana.Seeing this,Lakshmana stood before Vibheeshana and rained arrows at Raavana.seeing Vibheeshana protected by Lakshmana,Raavana told Lakshmana.Lakshmana!you saved Vibheeshana from my Mahaasakthi.So,I would release this Mahaasakthi against you only.It will kill you definitely. Saying so,Raavana released Mahaasakthi,which was made by Mayuduusing all his magical powers,towards Lakshmana.After releasing Mahaasakthi he roared like a lion.Sree raama saw it and blessed Lakshmana that everything good would happen to his brother.He addressed the Mahaasakthi.Mahaasakthi!your attempt to kill my brother would be futile.You would fail in your mission.Mahaasakthi went through Lakshmanaas heart and he fell down.Sree Raama wept for his brother.But sensing that it was not the right time to lament or repent,he fought with Raavana,observing his brother all along.It was a severe fight.Lakshmanaas body was oozing blood.HE FELL LIKE A HUGE MOUNTAIN BOUND BY A SERPANT.vaanaraas tried to take away that Sakthi but it was impossible for them to accomplish.Sree Raama broke that Mahaasakthi into two pieces with his hands. While Raama was attending to his brother,Raavana released another set of arrows.Raama did not mind them,but hugged his brother.He told Sugreeva and Hanumantha.Be alert and protect Lakshmana all the time.Hey vaanara warriors!time has come for me to show my valour.I have been waiting for this moment since long time.I will kill this sinner and come.See!I am taking oath before you.Either me or Raavana would be on this earth.I will definitely kill Raavana.I have been sorrowful because of losing my kingdom,living in the forest like sage,roaming in Dandakaaranyam,my Seetha being touched by another male and interacting with demons.I will leave my entire sorrow and acquire anger and kill Raavana.Raavana is before my eyes and he can never escape from me.Be cool headed and see our fight.Now,deities and sages would see this war.People will talk about this war till eternity.Raama got so angry because he saw Lakshmana in pain and pathetic condition.Sying so,he started releasing arrows at Raavana.

Raama and Raavana fight

Raavana entered war field.He is addressing his charioteer.Our demons are all killed.I will kill Raama and Lakshmana and make them happy.I will destroy the tree named Raama,which has Sugreevudu,Jaambavanthudu,Kumududu,Naludu,Maindudu,Dvividudu,Angadudu,Gandhamaadanudu,Hanumanthudu,Sushenudu and others as branches and flower ,Seetha. Raavana released Thaamasaasthram,first.Vaanaraas got burnt and fell in heaps.Raama got ready to war and made sounds with the string of his bow.But Lakshmana was near by and he felt like fighting with Raavana.So,he released arrows on to Raavana.Raavana warded off all those arrows.Raavana crossed Lakshmana and went to Raama and released arrows on him.Raama also rained arrows on Raavana.So many arrows were released by both of them that sky looked as if it had been fixed by many windows.Darkness engulfed the area with the arrows released by Raavana.Both are great warriors.Raavana planted many arrows on Raamaas forehead.But Raama was not pained by them.He got angry and released Roudraasthram.It touched unbreakable armour of Raavana but did not harm him.Raavana released Asuraasthram.Due to its effect,many arrows with the faces of lions,tigers,five headed serpants and many wild animals came.Then Raama released Aagneyaasthram.From it,many arrows with the faces of fire,sun,moon,planets and stars came andthey appeared like lightning and nullified the arrows released by Asuraasthram.Raavana ,then,released Roudraasthram,which was given to him by Mayudu.Raama nullified its effect by Gaandharvaasthram.Raavana released Souraasthram.From it many magnificient wheels came.Raama released celestial arrows and cancelled them.Seeing that his powerful arrows had no effect on Raama,Raavana released ten arrows which pained Raama.But Raama did not deter and rained arrows on Raavana.

Mahodarudu and Mahaapaarsvudu killed

Raavana came out through northern entrance and entered battle field.His left eye trembled.His face necame pale.His voice was in low key.Raavana did not care for these bad omens but proceded.Vaanaraas were also ready to fight.Fierce fight ensued.Many vaanaraas died due to Raavanaas arrows.Sugreeva observed this and fought back.He killed many demons.Viroopaakshidu ataacked Sugreeva.They fought a firce duel.Viroopaaksha broke Sugreevaas armour.Sugreeva hit his chest with his flattened palm and blood oozed from all openings in his body,navarandhramulu.He died.Many warriors died on both the sides.Armies on both sides became weak.Raavana felt tension.He instigated Mahodarudu and Mahaapaarsvudu to fight on his behalf.He told them to fight to the best of their ability.They had benefitted from him in the past.Time has come for them to show their gratitude for his help. Mahodarudu killed many vaanaraas and showed his mettle.Sugreeva observed this and attacked him.Sugreeva took a spear and Mahodarudu took a mace and fought.Bothe the weapons broke.They took swords and fought.During that fight,Sugreeva beheaded Mahodarudu.Demons were afraid and ran away.Vaanaraas were happy and praised Sugreeva. Mahaapaarsvudu fought relentlessly and killed many vaanaraas.Angada could not withstand that onslaught and attacked him.Angada took a spear and threw it and it broke the bow of Mahaapaarsvudu.Angada hit his chest with his fist.With that,Mahaapaarsvudu died.

Demon women lament the loss of their kith and kin

Women in Lanka learnt about the death of their men in war in huge numbers.They realised that they lost their husbands,fathers,sons,brothers and relatives in this ghastly war.They lamented in groups consoling each other.They talked like this.Soorpanakha is ugly.But she lusted for Handsome Raama and brought this calamity on us.Because of Soorpanakha only,Raavana indulged in rivalry with Raama.In the end,Raavana failed to turn Seetha towards him.He failed miserably.He brought Seetha just for his death only.Will there be any such fool in this world who makes Raama his enemy?Does he not know The effect of Raama?Does he not know the plight of Viraadha,who kidnapped Seetha earlier? Raama killed fourteen thousand demons in Janasdhaanam,along with Kharudu,Dooshanudu and Thrisirudu.He killed Kabandhudu,who had huge shoulders.He killed a great warrior like Vaali and made Sugreeva the king of Kishkindha.Are all these not examples of his valour?Raavana is a great fool!Vibheeshana pleaded him many a time not to continue enmity with Raama.But he leant a deaf ear to Vibheeshanaas pleas.If he had taken good advice of righteousman,Vibheeshana,Lanka would not have become a burial ground now.Even when Kumbhakarna,Athikaayudu,Indrajith and many other warriors died,Raavana could not think properly.In Lanka ,in every house,you can hear wailings that their son has died,their father has died or their brother has died. Women continued weeping.All our men died in the war.We have no one to look up to.What is the use of our living when once we become destitutes?Raavana is brainless person.Even he too would die soon.He did not ask for a boon to protect him from death in the hands of man.To kill Raavana only,Deities might have sent Seetha to Lanka.Because of his wrong doings only,we are put to so much trouble today.Can any one the person whom Raama determines to kill?Vibheeshana went to Raama and saved his life. Lanka reverberated with these wailings.It could be heard even in the palace.Raavana felt very much.He became angry and grit his teeth again.He told the demons around him.Tell the armies that it is my order.Tell them to go to the warfield and fight.I would come and destroy Raama,Lakshmana and vaanara army.Get ready my chariot.Collect all the demons who are still alive to the army.Army was collected.Raavana aloghted his chariot and went to the warfield along with Mahaapaarsvudu,Mahodarudu and Viroopaakshudu.

Raavana sends his army to the war

Raavana sent his own army to the field.Great fight ensued between vaanaraas and demons.Demons killed vaanaraas in large numbers.Remaining vaanaraas ran to Raama for protection.Raavana took his bow and entered the war field.Demons started falling down in large numbers.Chariots were breaking down.Demons were afraid and running away.Sree Raama was not to be seen by any pf them.It was as if gusty winds were blowing through the forest and destroying all the trees.Raamaas acts were only seen but not his frame of body.Sree Raama released Gaandharvaasthram.All demons fell down due to its effect.Wherever they turned demons were seeing Raama and they were seeing thousands of Raama,but not actual person.Raama is turning his bow in circles and releasing arrows in all the directions.Demons were being hit by his arrows but they could not see him.Raama broke seven crores twenty nine chariots.He killed thirteen crores twelve lakhs and twenty thousand elephants,ten crores twenty lakhs sixty thousand horses with their masters,one hundred and forty five crores eighty lakhs cavalry.He completed all this devastation in just one and half an hour just with his arrows.Battlefield looked like the play ground of God Rudra.Raavanaas entire personal army vanquished.Deities and sages were very very happy.They praised Raama.Raama turned towards Sugreeva,Vibheeshana,Hanumantha and other vaanara warriors and told them that this celestial weaponry is present only with God Shiva and himself.

Raavana goes to Seetha

Raavanaas aides went to Raavana and told him.Hey lord!Indrajith fought a magnificientbattle with Lakshmana.But with Vibheeshanaas help,Lakshmana could kill Indrajith.Raavana fainted hearing this news.He started crying after getting up for a long time.He lamented his sons death.Hey son!You defeated even Indra.Was your efficency not enough to kill Lakshmana?Just because you are with Yama now,Yama is dear to me also.You died like a true warrior and went to heaven.Now,deities,sages and other celestial groups would have a happy sleep without any fear from us,dmons.Without Indrajith,entire universe is appearing blank and meaningless to me. Hey Indrajith!did you leave your princehood,Lanka,demons,your mother,me,your wife and every one else and go away?You had to do last rites to me but now I am forced to do your last rites.You are making m do them to you.Even now,Sugreeva Raama and Lakshmana are still alive.You had gone away without clearing my pain and my problem. From his sorrow was born anger.he grit his teeth and made such noise like machines make when they are turned on.He turned to his aides and told them.I did a great penance and obtained many boons from Brahma.Brahma gave me unbreakable armour,bow and arrows.No one can stand before me in battle.I would go and kill Raama and Lakshmana.I would behead Seetha,who is the root cause of this entire calamity.My son killed illusionary Seetha.I would kill real Seetha.Saying so,Raavana took his sword and went to Seetha.Many tried to curtail him but he proceded to where Seetha was sitting. Seetha began to weep seeing Raavana.Though I have a husband,this demon is killing me as if I were a destitute.Would he have killed even Raama and Lakshmana?That would never happen.He is unable to kill my husband and his brother.He is lamenting the loss of his son.So,he has come to take revenge on me.If I had gone with Hanumantha that day,when he told me to sit on his back and he would take me to Raama,this day would not have come to me. In the mean time,Mahaapaarsvudu,Raavanaas minister stopped him.Hey lord!you are not supposed to indulge in such an act.You are a great scholar.You learnt all the fields of efucation.All along you have been doing good things.Can a great man like you kill a woman?Safe guard her and her beauty.Show your anger on Raama.If you kill him,Seetha would automatically be yours.Go to the war.Today is Chathurdasi.Tomorrow is Amaavaasya.Make all the arrangements today and start to the war field tomorrow and fight.You will win dfinitely. Raavana heeded his ministers words and returned to his assembly to make war arrangements.He was sad,pathetic and shrivelled. He saluted his army chieves and told them.one,who made the entire universe tremble with fear,now is saluting his army chieves.hey army chiefs!take your armies along with you to war field and attack Raama.Even if you can not kill him,injure him and make him suffer his wounds.I would come tomorrow and will easily kill Raama ,who is already in pain and not full fledged because of wounds inflicted by you.

Lakshmana kills Indrajith

Lakshmana released Vaarunaasthram.Indrajith released Roudraasthram and nullifed its effect.Indrajith released Aagneyaasthram and Lakshmana nullified it by Souraasthram.Indrajith released Aasuraasthram.Lakshmana warded it by releasing Maaheswaraasthram.To view this magnificient battle,Deities,sages,Garudulu,Uragulu and many others came along with Devendra.They all protected Lakshmana from suffering with pain.Lakshmana took an arrow and chanted Aindraasthra manthram and created a magnificient celestial arrow.Lakshmana addressed that arrow.Hey arrow!if Dasaradhaas son,Raama,is roghteousman,truthful person,great warrior who can not be defeated by anyone,go and kill Indrajith.Saying so Lakshmana released the arrow.That arrow went cut off Indrajiths head.His head rolled on to the ground.Indrajith died.Vaanaraas and Vibheeshana were merry with happiness.Sages,Deities,Gandharvas and all others were happy.They rained flowers on Lakshmana.Vaanaraas shouted Lakshmano jayathi!hail Lakshmana!This war took place for three entire nights and days.Lakshmana was happy to kill a warrior who defeated even Indra. Lakshmanas body was filled with blood.Lakshmana went along with Hanumantha,Vibheeshana and other vaanara warriors to Raama.He circumscribed Raama,saluted him and simply said,Indrajith is dead.Vibheeshana said,Indrajiths head rolled down to earth by great Lakshmana. Sree Raama made Lakshmana sit on his thigh and hugged his brother and was looking at him with love and affection again and again.Lakshmana was shy before his brother. Raama told his brother.Naayanaa!you did a wonderful task by killing Indrajith.You brought me happiness.If Indrajith dies,it is as if Raavana himself died.It is as if we have already won the war.In this war,Vibheeshana,Hanumantha and many other vaanara warriors fought for three ahoraathrulu ie three full days and nights.Hey brother!you killed Indrajith.From now onwards,it would be a cake for me to acquireeither Seetha or this whole earth. Raama then called Sushenudu and told him.Sushena!Lakshmanaas body is filled with many arrows.You take off those arrows and treat him.You treat all those whose bodies are implanted with arrows and make them hale and healthy.Sushena brought one medicinal herb and made Lakshmana inhale it.Lakshmana immediately became strong and all his wounds and injuries disappeared.Sushena treated other warriors also and every one revived to normalcy.

Vibheeshana and Indrajith fight

On one side vaanaraas and demons were fighting.Then Indrajith addressed them.Hey demons!You fight with vaanaraas fiercely.I will go and get another chariot.If they realise that I am going to bring another chariot they would not allow me to go.So,you have to fight so vigorously that they should forget about me.Indrajith escaped into Lanka cunningly and came on a chariot.He started to fight again.Every one was astonished as how Indrajith could accomplish such an act in such a hort duration without any ones knowledge.Indrajith rained arrows on vaanaraarmy.Vaanaraas came to Lakshmana for their protection. Lakshmana displayed his talent and broke Indrajiths bow.Indrajith took another bow.Lakshmana released three arrows and broke that bow alao.He released five more arrows targeting Indrajiths armpit.Blood oozed from his body.His armour broke.Indrajith took another strong bow and released innumerable number of arrows on Lakshmana.Lakshmana warded all those arrows and used a pear and killed his charioteer.Even without charioteer,Indrajiths horses started turning the chariot in circles and helping Indrajith fight agilely.Every one astonished to see that scene. Both started attacking each other.Indrajith tried to break Lakshmanaas armour,but failed to do so.Sensing that Lakshmanaas armour s unbreakable,he released three arrows on to his forehead.Lakshmana planted five arrows on Indrajiths face.Blood flowed from the bodies of both warriors.Indrajith got angry on Vibheeshana and released three arrows on him.Vibheeshana too got angry and hit his horses with his mace and killed them.Indrajith got down from his chariot and released the power of his charioton toVibheeshana.Lakshmana released arrows and nullified its effect in the middle only.Vibheeshana hurt Indrajith by planting five arrows on his chest.Indrajith took took out arrow given by Yama released onto Vibheeshana.Lakshmana observed this released an arrow which was guven to him by Kubera,while he was dreaming.Both the arrows hit each other and nullified each others effect.

Indrajith shows his mettle in fighting

Vibheeshana is giving reason to vaanaraas for not killing Indrajith,himself.I,myself ,might have killed Indrajith for the sake of Raama.But it is not right to kill ones son.So,I am calm.When I am ready to kill him,my eyes are being blinded by tears.So,Lakshmana would kill him.Vaanaraas!you kill demon army.Encouraged by Vibheeshanaas words,Vaanaraas fought ferociously.Jaambavantha sent his army of bears to fight.Demons fought with them.Hanumantha also started fighting with demons. Fierce battle ensued between Lakshmana and Indrajith.Both were so efficient that no one could actually see them taking out the arrows,directing them and releasing them at the opponent.But arrows were falling in heaps.Entire sky was filled with them and darkness engulfed the battle field.Blood flowed in rivulets.Deities and sages came to view this magnificient fight.They were trembling even to see it.War did not stop.Lakshmana hurt Indrajith chariot horses and killed his charioteer with five arrows.Indrajith was managing his chariot himself and fighting simultaneously ina wonderfumanner.Every one was awestruck by his magnificient talent.But,how can he fight non stop.His opponent,Lakshmana ,is not an ordinary warrior.Lakshmana is finding Indrajiths weaknesses and targeting them.Indrajiths enthusiam dipped to low levels.His face became dull.Vaanaraas became strong and enthusiastic.Vaanara warriors,Pramaadhi,Sarabhudu,Rabhasudu and Gandhamaadanudu went together and hit the horses of Indrajiths chariot and killed them.They broke his chariot also.They came back and stood beside Lakshmana.Indrajith got down from his chariot and started fighting again.

Vibheeshana encourages Lakshmana

Indrajith addressed Lakshmana.Lakshmana!no one amongst you can kill me.Did you already forget that I bound you and your brother by naagapaasam in nisaayuddham?I would kill you now itself.Lakshmana aptly replied him.The acts which can not be completed,can they be completed by mere talk?The war you indulged that night and disapparing into th sky is not an act of warrior.It is done usually by culprits and thieves,not by brave people.If you are valiant,show your braverynow. Indrajith released arrows and they harmed Lakshmana and blood oozed from the injuries.Indrajith instigated that Lakshmana can not live for a long time.Lakshmana released five arrows on to Indrajiths chest.They indulged in fierce fight.Lakshmana released a celestial arrow on Indrajith.As soon as Indrajith heard the vibration of the bow string,his face became pale and colorless.Vibheeshana observed and cautioned Lakshmana.Lakshmana!aura of Indrajith is decreasing.Seeing his condition,I can assess that he lost concentration and confidence in himself.There is no doubt about it.Be faster and complete the mission you are assigned with.Lakshmana released fire ball like arrows and Indrajith fainted.But he revived soon and released seven arrows on Lakshmana.He released ten arrows on Hanumantha andhundrd arrows on Vibheeshana. Lakshmana humiliated Indrajith that his arrows were too short to reach their goal.He should taste his arrows now.To the arrows released by lakshmana Indrajiths armour broke into pieces.Indrajith got angry and rained arrows on Lakshmana.Like this they fought for a long time.Entire earh was filled with the arrows released by both of them.To encourage Lakshmana,Vibheeshana came near him and he too fought.He killed many demons by releasing powerful arrows.His ministers too fought.He encouraged vaanara warriors and vaanara army also.Hey vaanara warriors!only Indrajith is remaining.He is only source of hope for Raavana.If Indrajith dies,it amounts to loss of entire strength of Raavana.Only Raavana would be remaining.So do not delay.Leap into action and kill enemys army completely. Prahasthudu,Nikumbhudu,Kumbhakarnudu,Kumbhudu,Dhoomraakshdu,Jambumaali,Mahaamaali,Theekshnavegudu,Asaniprabhudu,Supthaghnudu,Yajnakopudu,Vajradanshtrudu,Samhaadri,VikatudumNighnudu,Thapanudu,Damudu,Praghaasudu,Praghanudu,Prajanghudu,Janghudu,and other dmon warriors died in your hands.You also killed Agnikethud,Rasmikethud,Vidyujjihvudu,Dvijihvudu,Sooryasathrudu,Kampanudu,Supaarsvudu,Chakramaali,Kampanudu and many other demon warriors.You put an end to Devaanthakudu and Naraanthakudu also.So,putting an end to remaining army is not a big dealfor you.

Indrajith scolds Vibheeshana

Indrajith saw Vibheeshana near Lakshmana.He got and angry and scolded his uncle.Raakshasaadhamaa!You were born here.You were brought up here.You are the younger brother of my father.But you planned to kill your son!Bad guy!you are not caring relationship friendship,clan,righteousness and other important factors.You left your people and family and became a servant to our enemy.You are such a fool and dull head that you are unable to differentiate between friendship with your own people and friendship with the enemy.Learn that even though our own people are wrong and the enemy is right,it is always better to stand with our own people.Outsider is always an outsider.He can never become our family person.A person who leaves his own people would never prosper in his life.As soon as his own people get depleted,enemy would definitely kill him too.You are a loafer.No other person would do such a nasty thing.You are a traitor. Vibheeshana replid his son.Dushtaathmaa! Why are you blabbering like that?Do you not know that even if I were born in demon clan,I am good charactered?I never liked bad deeds and wrong doings.That was the sole reason behind my leaving Raavanaas side.Wrong is wrong whether it is done by the enemy or your own people.So,righteous man never cares for relationships.We have to leave the person who leaves righteousness and hugs unrightfulness.Harming people,grabbing other peoples money,lusting for others wife are all very bad things.If a house is on fire,we have to leave it.Similarly,we have to leave a person who is bad charactered.Grabbing others money,kidnapping other peoples wives and not believing your friends are three bad traits which can destroy you. Raavana was proud and he humiliated and harmed sages.He went to war against deities.Raavana has all those bad characters which would deplete wealth and life.That was the main reason for discarding my brother. You,too,are a bad soul.Very soon,you,Raavana and all demons in Lanka are going to be killed.Just because your end is nearing,you are talking like this.Whatever you may do,but today you can not go near that tree.One,who has humiliated Raama and Lakshmana ,has no right to live.Lakshmana has come to war with you and kill you.You and your army can not return to Lanka alive today. Indrajith lost his temper.He took his bow and came for Vibheeshana aggressively.Lakshmana observed that indrajith was fighting from his chariot.So,he called Hanumantha and sat on his shoulders to fight with Indrajith.

Lakshmana stops Indrajith from completing homam

Lakshmana wore his armour,took his bow and arrows,sword and saluted Raama and touched his feet ith reverence.He circumscribed Raama ,took his blessings and started to go to Indrajith to kill him.Hanumantha and other vaanara warriors,Vibheeshana amd his ministers also accompanied him.He travelled long distance and saw army of demons.He enetered into enemys army.Vibheeshana told him.Lakshmanaa!see that side.If vaanara army attackes those enemy armies which are looking dark,you can see Indrajith.Demons were standing in a particular formation.You have to break that formation to see Indrajith.You too attack the army.Kill Indrajith.Lakshmana released severe arrows on the demon army.Vaanaraas attacked demons with full enthusiasm.Fierce fight ensued between both the parties.Demons were killed in large numbers. Indrajith heard this news and became very angry.Indrajith did not complete the homam.He got up from the dark area and came out.He alighted his chariot which was kept there earlier.He took his bow and arrows and looked ghastly.He came to fight with the enemy.Hanumatha increased his stature many times and killing demons in large numbers.Indrajith turned his chariot towards Hanumantha and released many arrows at him. Hanumantha dared Indrajith to fight with him.He even asked him for a duel.Vibheeshana understood that Indrajith was ready to kill Hanumantha.He alerted Lakshmana to that fact.Lakshmana!there is no time for us to wait and watch.Tou have to use powerful arrows and kill indrajith.Saying so,Vibheeshana took Lakshmana nearer to Indrajith.Vibheeshana showed Lakshmana the huge tree where Indrajith was doing yajnam.Lakshmana!are you seeing that black cloud like huge tree with roots growing from the branches and reaching into the earth.That is the place where Indrajith sacrifices ghosts to complete the homam.After sacrificing ghosts,he would come to the war field and kills the enemy by disappearing into the sky.You should not let Indrajith go near that tree at any cost.You have to kill him before he reaches this spot. Lakshmana kept his bow ready and stood near that tree to stop Indrajith.Indrajithwore his armour,took his bow,alighted his chariot and came there.He was seen by Lakshmana.Lakshmana called Indrajith to fight with him.

Vibheeshana reveals the secret of Indrajith

In the mean time,Vibheeshana retained the vaanara armies in their respective places and came over to Raama.Sree Raama was lying in Lakshmanaas lap and weeping.All other vaanara warriors were also sad.Vibheeshana also worried for some time along with them and then asked the reason for their sadness.Tears flowing down his cheeks,Lakshmana started telling him the reason.Vibheeshana!Hanumantha told us that Indrajith killed Seetha.Hearing that news,Raama fainted.Vibheeshana told them not to worry if that was the reason for their greif.Hanumantha was tricked.Would Raavana allow Seetha to be killed?It is not even possible to see her.In that case,bringing her into the war zone and killing her are impossible.Indrajith killed illusionary Seetha.Indrajith planned this tactics,so that vaanaraas would not be alert because of this reason and at the same time he can comfortably go to Nikumbhila temple and do homam without any problem.There is no other reason for this type of action. If Indrajith completes that Yajnam succesfully,no one can defeat him.So,we have to see that it is not completed,performed succesfully.So,we should now go there along with our armies to stop him from completing the yanjnam.Hey lord Raama! There is no valid reason for your greif.It is all just an illusion of the eyes.Encourage the armies.Be confident and happy.Send Lakshmana along with army.We have to kill Indrajith before completion of the yajnam.If not,he would disappear again and harm us immensely. Raama heard what all Vibheeshana told him.He could not grasp the correct meaning as he was sorrowful.He asked him to repeat his words again.Vibheeshana told him again.Lord Raama!there is no valid reason for your sadness.Indrajith killed Illusionary Seetha only.Leave aside your sorrow,which would encourage the happiness of our enemies.prepare for the war with enthusiasm.If you want to kill demons and secure Seetha,hear my words.Send Lakshmana to Nikumbhila along with large army.Lakshmana is sure to kill Indrajith.If the yajnam is completed succesfully,it would be very difficult for us to be alive. Listen!Brahma gave boon to Indrajith.when you try to do homam,and if it is not completed and you do not reach Nikumbhila in time,when you are going there with your weapons,the enemy who attacks you would kill you.Brahma said this to Indrajith.Lord Raama!now that time has come.All the signs are convenient.So we have to start trying to stop Indrajith from his mission.Consider that Raavana is dead if Indrajith dies. Raama replied.Vibheeshana!I know the magical powers of Indrajith.I will send Lakshmana to Nikumbhila as per your directions.Raama turned towards Lakshmana and told him.Lakshmana!take Hanumantha and other vaanara warriors and vaanara army along with you and kill that Indrajith.Vibheeshana would accompany you along with his ministers as he is familiar with that place and to be of help to you.

Lakshmanaas soliloquy

Lakshmana was very sad and unhappy with all these developments.He started talking.Hey brother!you belief in righteousness and came to this stage.Your belief in righteousness could not protect you from dangers and difficulties.So,I believe that there is no righteousness in this world.Right and wrong are two useless words.If not,Raavana should have been troubled.You,who always moves in right path,should lead a happy life.But in actual reality,you are suffering and Raavana is happy and enjoying his life.Wealth of wrong persons is increasing.Good people are becoming poorer by day.So,talking and debating regarding right and wrong are utterly useless acts. Righteousness has no strength really.Only with the help of bravery,it can exist.Otherwise,it has no existance.So,we need not abide by the rules of righteousness.It is better to rely on bravery rather than this trait. Hey Raama!should one not stand on his words?Our father told that he would make you the crown prince but he went back on his words.Why did you not jail him for that?Financial soundness is the only basis for righteousness.But you did not pay heed to my advice.You discarded kingdom and came to forest. Financially sound person alone can attain anything and every thing.Poor person has no aura and he can not do anything right.Entire world revolves around finance.Only wealthy people have friends.Even relatives concentrate around wealthy persons.World praises those who have money and wealth.They praise those as scholars ,who have money with them.Wealthy person is praised as valiant,intelligent,lucky,good charactered and good natured.If we distance ourselves from wealth and materialistic assets,people would find fault in our every move.EVEN TODAY,I fail to understand why you have foregone your kingdom?Everything favors those who have money.Every thing goes wrong,if you are poor. Raama!happiness,lust,pride,righteousness,anger,kindness,helping nature...all these work out well and appear pronounced if you wealthy.A poor man,however righteous he might be,is not respected in this society. Raamaa!you respected your fathers words and came to the forest.What did you achieve by it?You lost your beautiful wife,whom you love to the utmost extent,to a demon.Raavan kidnapped her and Indrajith did major damage to you by killing Seetha.Hey brother!get up.I will wipe off your unhappiness with my valor.Get up!get up!!you are a great soul.You are unable to realise it.Raamaa!forgive me.I talked rubbish being in the grip of unhappiness over Seethaas death.I talked like that only to revive you and encourage you.nothing else!I know that you are unblemished.I would go now itself and kill Raavana and all his aides. Lakshmana ,seekng his brothers pardon for his talk,is apt.Because,sometimes we might feel that trying to walk in the path of righteousness is a mere waste.We might also feel that those who are walking in the wrong path are enjoying their life to the fullest extent.But,we should never forget that righteousness alone wins in the end.

Raama hears about Seethaas death

Hanumantha requested the vaanaraas not to run away.Vaanaraas!why are you running away?Show your valor!Running away from war sight is not an important trait of a brave soldier.Come back.I will walk in the front.Come along with me and fight your best ability.Conceding Hanumanthaas request,vaanaraas returned and started fighting again.Hanumantha smashed the dmon army forces like Kaalaanthaka.He threw a great boulder on to the Indrajiths chariot.Before that boulder fell on the chariot,Indrjith moved it awa and the boulder fell on the demons who died on the spot in large numbers.Vaanaraas started throwing large boulders and tees on Indrajith.Indrajith warded off their on slaught and killed many vaanaraas with h arrows.Hanumantha threw many boulders and trees and did a great fight.After some time ,he told his colleagues.Hey vaanaraas!let us turn back.Our mission is not to kill demons.We came to take back Seetha from Lanka.But she is no more.She has been killed by Indrajith before our eyes.W will informThis ghastly fact to Raama and Sugreeva and act as per their advice. As per Indrajiths plan,things turned out.Hanumantha saw Seethadevi recently.So,unless Hanumantha confirms death of Seetha,Raama would not believe it.So,Indrajith came towards western entrance and did this cruel game.We can imagine how strong was the illusion,if Hanumantha himself could not differentiate between actual Seetha and illusionary Seetha.Seeing Hanumantha return back,Indrajith went Nikumbhila sakthi temple to do Homam as per procedure. Hearing the moise of war at western entrance,Raama sent Jaambavantha to help Hanumantha.Jaambavantha started with his army of bears.Hanumantha sent them back and came to Raama fast to tell him about the news of Seethaas death. Hanumantha told Raama with much sadness.Hey lord Raama!while we were fighting war,Indrajith killed Setha before our ees only.I did not know what to do.So,I came to tell you about it.Hearing this news,Raama fainted and fell onthe ground.Vaanara warriors surrounded him and tried to revive him.They sprinkled cool water on his face.They fanned him.They sprinkled scented water on him.Lakshmana was very sad.He held his brothers head on his lap and wept.

Indrajith kills illusionary Seetha

Though indrajith entered the palac,his desire to kill Raama and Lakshmana did not die.He entered warfild fromwestern gate.He saw Raama and Lakshmana ready for the fight.Till he completed performing Nikumbhilaa homam,he anted them to be sad and depressed.For this to attain,he thought of a plan.He had acunning plan.He wanted vaanaraas to view him while he killed illusionary Seetha.He turned his chariot facing Vaanaraas.As vaanaraas saw Indrajith come owards them,they attacked him with boulders.Hanumantha was at the western gate.He took a great mountain top and went towards Indrajith.He saw illusionary figure of Seetha in Indrajiths chariot.She was desperate,dejected and weak with no strength.Her hair was not combed.Her hair was in mats.She wore unclean clothes.He body was full of dust and perspiration.Hanumantha saw Seetha recently when he went to Ashokavanam in search of her.So,he could identify her.He was sad seeing Seetha in that despicable condition.He thought as what ould have been the reason for Indrajith to bring Seetha to the war field.He could not think of any valid reason.In anger,Hanumantha lounged at Indrajith with his army.Indrajith,too,became angry and put his sword to Seethaas neck.Illusionary Seetha cried,Raamaa!Raamaa!,desperately.Before vaanaraas,Indrajith hit her many times.He dragged her by her hair.Hanumantha wept seeing that scene. He cried in desperation.Hey vicious man!Instead of geeting burnt by your nasthy actions,are you holding Seetha by her hair?You should be burnt for this ghastly act of yours.Are you not ashamed to indulge in such cheap tactics?You can never live long after this act.This sin of yours would not leave you even after death.Saying so Hanumantha again went after Indrajith to fight him. Sugreeva replied him.Hey vaanaraa!Sugreeva,You and Raama are fighting for this Seetha only.I will you before your eyes only.After killing Seetha,I will kill Raama,Lakshmana,you,Sugreeva and Vibheeshana.You told that a woman should not be killed.But bad danger can be removed in what ever form it is.There is nothing wrong in it.Saying so,Indrajith killed illusionary Seetha with his sword,across her body.Seetha fell down.Indrajith addressed Hanumantha that as Seetha is killed,there was no necessity for them to fight any longer.Indrajith roared like a lion and vaanaraas ran away from there.
