Ramas desperation about Seetha

Rama is telling Lakshmana in a heart wrenching way .Lakshmana!Seetha is not answering me inspite of my repeated requests,What had happened to her?All the wild animals are weeping silently and telling me that demons have killed and eaten Seetha.Kaikeyis wish has fulfilled now.I came to the woods with Seetha along with me. How can I go back to Ayodhya without her?Seeing me without Seetha,every one would accuse me to be an yellow creature without any valor and a heartless man.After completing my term in the woods and going back,what reply can I give Janaka,Seethas father? I will not come to Ayodhya. You go alone.Leave me here.Go and Hug Bharatha and tell him these words.Rama has given you permission. You can happily rule the land.Convey my reagrds to our mothers.Tell Bharatha to look after my mother well.Explain the difficulties faced by me and Seetha to Kousalya.There is no sinner worse than me in this world.may be I committed many sins in my previous birth.That is the reason why difficulties are gruelling me one after another.I lost my kingdom.I am away from my people.My father is no more.I am away frommy mother.on top of all those things,now I do not even have SEEtha.Whatever problems I faced till now,I was happy that Seetha was by my side and I consoled my self.Now I have nothing to fall back on. When some demon catured SEetha and took her in the sky,how she might have wept for help.?She would have been facing facing many problems in his captivity. Lakshmana!Seetha was talking to me and laughing with me while sitting on this hillock.Her talk was divine at that time.River Godavari is dear to Seetha. Did she go there?I ambecoming mental with frustration! Whwen did she go alone without me to any place?Did she go to the pond to collect Lotus flowers? It is not right. Till now ,she never went alone to collect flowres. then ,why would she go now all alone?She would never go anywhere alone without me. O Sun God! Ravi! you observe everything.Nothing happens without your knowledge on this earth.Please tell me what happened to my SEetha.O god Of Air! vaayudeva! you know every thing. at least you tell my Seethas where abouts.

Lakshmana tries to console Rama,but in vain

Lakshmana started to make Rama see reason.He is trying to console him.Rama!how long are you going to weep like that?Do not feel sad.We will search for Seetha afresh.May be she is wandering in the woods.May be she had gone to the pond where lotus flowers are there. May be she had gone to bathe in the river.May be just for fun,she might have hid some where.Let us try and search the entire forest.Do not grieve her absence. Both of them started searching for her.They searched the woods,hills and mountains,rivers,ponds,caves,and all other places. they could not find her any where.Rama got dejected and told his brother that she was not any where.There is no use searching for her still.Lakshmana was consoling his brother. No brother. She would be some where here. Let us search for some more time.Definitely ,we would find her. Do not be sad. Rama questioned his brother. we searched all over. We could not find her. Then ,where would she be?Rama fainted with fatigue,tension and sorrow. He was static and crumbled on to the ground.Remembering Seetha,he started weeping afresh.Lakshmana was trying to make him see the reason and reality. It was as if Rama had gone into trance.He was talking with Seetha,who was not there.Seetha!you like flowers very much.You have covered yourself with branches of asoka tree and increasing my soka ie sorrow.Seetha!I am able to see your long legs.You can not disguise them from my sight.You are laughing at me and straying in the woods.Stop this silly game.I am tired very much.I know that you want to be light hearted. but In the woods,you should not be like that.This is not the time for playing pranks with me.Seetha!see!our abode is desolate.Hiding yourself in woods is not a nice gesture.Please come out into open and before me.

Rama and Lakshmana search for Seetha

Rama was turbulent. He was suffering from hallucinations. he was talking nonsense like this.Seetha!why are you running away from me?Even if you are standing behind the trees,I am able to see you.Why do you not talk to me?Seetha!please halt there.You are not having any concern about me.You are not a jovial person. Then why are you behaving like this? See!I can see your yellow saree.Do not run away from me.If you really have love and affection towards me,please stay there.May be Seetha is not there.If she was there,she would not make me repent this long.Some demon would have captured her in my absence and cut her into pieces and eaten. He turns towards Lakshmana and enquires about Seethas where abouts.Again he cries,Seetha! where did you go? Rama was weeping and searched her from one forest to another.one hill to another and near rivers. he could not stay calm and composed.He could not find her any where. He again returned back to his abode. He started telling Lakshmana in this manner.Lakshmana!where is my Seetha?some demon has taken away my Seetha by force.Seetha!your pet deers are weeping in your absence.See them. Lakshmana!I can not live without Seetha.If I go to the otherworld after my death,My father,Dasaradha would leer at me.He would question me. Rama!you gave me word that you would live in the forest for fourteen years. But you have failed to stand on your words and came away here.You do not speak the truth.You are a hard hearted individual .You are cruel. Seetha!I am in extreme distress.Why did you leave me? I can not live without you!

Rama loses his cool

Even after hearing Lakshmanas words,Rama was still not satisfied. He blamed for leaving Seetha alone.Lakshmana,you are wrong. It is not a small mistake.You know my capacity. Then,why did you proceed even if Seetha said something in tension.May she might have blamed you,accused you. Even then ,you should not have left her alone.How can you lose your temper and cross my order.See there!that demon died by my arrow. for the cries he made at the time of death,you came running. Rama reached his asrama.His left eye trembled. his gait faltered.His body shook with imminent disaster.Observing these bad omens,he walked fast to his abode.Aasrama was vacant.Seetha was not to be seen.Did any one snatch her? is she no more?Did any demon kill her and eat her?Did she go into the forest all alone?He could not sure as to what really happened in his absence. May be she went to collect flowers and fruits.May be she went to the water body to collect some water.He searched all the near by places but to no avail.He ran from one tree to another. he searched one hill to another.He ran to the river bed.He was drowned in sorrow.He called every tree in the forest by their names and enquired if they saw his wife.He called kadamba vruksha,Bilva vrukasha. he called Asoka vruksham and toldlike this. You remove all the sorrows.Please show me,my Seetha and make me Asoka,a man without sorrows. He was enquiring the where abouts from Trees,creepers,animals of the forest,wild animals like tigers,lions,elephants,deers,flowers,AND FRUITS.

Lakshmanas explanation to Rama

Lakshmana replied his brother in a low and convincing note.Brother!I did not come here intentionally.Seetha talked in ahurtful note and made me come in your search by force.She heard the demons words in youe voice crying ,Hay Lakshmana! hay Seetha!.Hearing those cries she made me start in haste.iNspite of my repeated words to pacify her and give her comnfirmation that you would be safe,she did not believe my words.I told her that there was no demon in this world ,whocan make him afraid .The voice you heard is definitely not my brothers. It might me the voice of a demon who is imitatying my brothers voice.Rama can protect even the deities.Such a great person would never ask for help cry for some one to protect him.Such words would never come out of his mouth.Some demon might have conceived this idea .Do not cry.A man who can defeat Rama is not yet born.In future also,he would not be born.Dont be sorrowful. do not corner me to meave you. In spite of my repeated requests,Seetha was still weeping. She attributed bad inclinations to Lakshmana.She abused him. May be you have wrong intentions on me.You might have connived with Bharatha and then started following us.You are a foe in the guise of a well wisher.May be that you are wishing your brothers down fall.But it would never materialise.If your intentions are good,then why do you not go in search of your brother? I could digest those accusations.so I came out in anger at her words.

Rama pours out his tensions to Lakshmana

Rama addressed Lakshmana in this manner.Lakshmana ! what you did is wrong.It is not nice on your part to leave her alone and come in search of me.I strongly feel ,she is not safe.I am coming across all the bad omens. See1deers,jackals,and birds are crying in a fearful manner turning towards the sun.Demon ,who came in the guise of a golden deer,took me far away by deceit.After I attcked him with my arrows,he died as a demon. I am not happy.some one would have snatched Seetha.Otherwise,she might be coming towards us,searching us.she would not be in the abode.there is no doubt about it. Hey Lakshmana!Seetha came to Dandakaaranya,even though I lost my kingdom,to help me. tell me where she is.I can not live without her even for a second.where is my Seetha,who is like a deity to my eyes.she is the sole cause of my life.If I donOt have SEETHA,I neither want my kingdom nor heaven.she is more important to me than my life. I doubt if she is alive or dead. Because of her absence,I would die,and thus I am failing in fulfilling my promise given to my father that I would observe vanavasavratham for fourteen years. Lalkshmana!if I die because of Seetha,go to Ayodhya and tell about us. may be Kaikeyi would feel happy hearing about our deaths.How can my mother live there after losing her only son?I would stay in parnasaala,only if Seetha is alive.otherwise,I am sure to die.As soon as I enter parnasaala,if Seetha comes to welcome me,its OK.OTHERWISE,I WOULD DIE.Lakshmana!tell me. Is Seetha alive?did demons kill her and eat her ,when you were not alert?Seetha would be lamenting my absence.that cunning demon cried Lakshmana! Seetha!,with my voice.you would have been afraid hearing my voice like that.Even Seetha would lost her cool,hearing these cries of help and then might have sent you.You came fast here to see me safely . But in whatever manner,I see,it was very wrong on your part to leave Seetha alone and come in my search.you gave demons chance to fulfill their revenge on me.Definitely,they would have killed her by now.I am filled with grief. what can I do?Lakshma!is it apt on your part to leave her,when I believed that you look after her safety in my absence?When I saw you coming towards me,I was afraid that you were coming to tell me that Seetha is no more.I am worried very much about Seethas safety.My left eye,left shoulder and heart are shivering with anxiety.

Rama worried about Seethas safety

Rama killed the golden deer.Actually it was the demon ,Maareecha.He started to return home with anxiety.He was coming fast. behind him,he heard the cries of jackals.He was worried about Seethas safety.He was talking to himself. His soliloquy went like this.Maarecha ,in the guise of a golden deer has took far away from my abode.While dying,he cried ,Hey Lakshmana!hay Seetha!in my voice.Seetha and Lakshmana might have heard that cry.may be ,Seetha sent Lakshmana to look after me,thinking that I might be in danger.Lakshmana might have left her alone and come in sear ch of me.I am seeing all the bad omens. Seetha might have been in trouble.I killed many demons in their place. may be they are dying to take revenge against me.Maarecha might have planned to kill Seetha,making her alone. Thinking like this,Rama was walking in a depressed mood.Birds and wild animals turned around Rama in an anti clockwise direction and cried in a grotesque manner.Lakshmana came to him. he was also in sorrowful mood.Rama felt very much that Lakshmana left Seetha alone and come there.

Seetha taken to Asoka vana

after threatening her with dire consequences,Ravana turned towards demon women and gave them these directions.You have to make come down from her high horse.You take her to Asoka vana and safe guard her secretly.you theaten her sometimes and plead her some othr times.But any how,you have to make her think of me positively and accept to live with me. those women took Seetha to Asoka vana.Asoka vanam is very beautiful. But Seetha was more concerned about her safety and that of her husband and brother in law.. Fear and Sorrow both engulfed her and she fainted with exertion.even after wards,she did not eat the food given to her by rakshasa women.

Seethas fiting reply to Ravana

Seetha devi placed grass between her and Ravana and spoke without any fear.You are a worst demon.Rama is the son of a righteous king,Dasaradha.He is my deity.all three worlds praise him to be a righteous man.He is born in Ikshvaaku dynasty.He is valiant.he ha an aura around him.He will not leave you with life.If you had been seen earlier by him, he would have already killed you.You can not live longer.nothing is impossible to him.He can throw the moon on to the ground. he can make the ocean dry.Releasing me from your captivity is no big deal for him.Because of your bad deeds.Lanka is going to pay a huge price. My husband is a great man.he has gods grace with him.believing his strength only,he is able to live in Dandakaaranya without any fear.Low caste person can not enter yajnasaala. similarly,you can not touch Ramas wife.If you want tiimprison me.Go ahead.If you want to eat me. It is OK with me.I am least bothered about my body.But I can not digest bad name. Ravana lost his temper hearing these words .He threatened her like this.Hear my words!I am giving you twelve months time.With in that time,change your mind in my favor.Otherwise ,I am going to make you into pieces and eat for my breakfast.

Ravana tries to lure Seetha

Ravanas palace was very beautiful and magnificient.servant maids were in thousands.pillars were studded with diamonds,gold and silver. he took her to upstairs.steps were made of gold.windows were made of gold.there were ponds filled with lotus flowers. showingoff his wealth ,he turned to her and started to speak thus. Seetha!I am the king of demons.thirty crore demon warriors are under my command.each of them has thousand soldiers.this kingdom, and my life are in your hands.you are more precious to me than my life.many great women have become my wives.you too become my wife and be head to them.you accept my offer of love.this Lanka is surrounded by a vast ses.not even demons and dieties can dare to touch this Lanka.in entire these three lokas,no one is valiant as me.Why do you follow Rama who has lost his kingdom and living the life of a sage. he is weakling.you can not enjoy life with him.I am more appropriate husband to you compared to him.youth will not last long. so ,leave him and enjoy life with me. Seetha!forget that he even exists.he can not come here.not only that,he can not even dream of coming here and take you back.no one can release you from my grip.you rule my kingdom and me.every one would attend to you as they attend to me with reverence.I will make you the queen.we can enjoy all pleasures of life together.because of your past sins,you lived in the forest till now. now,you are going to reap the fruits of your good deeds. every thing is ready.go and adorn yourself and enjoy the fruits of life with me.see this pushpaka vimanam. we will go for outing in this merrily.do not weep. Seethas eyes filled with tears. she covered her face and started weeping.Ravana renewed his trials to woo her.may be you are ashamed that coming to me is wrong.it is an act of god. so there is no fault from your side.even sages accept the wish of god.I am falling on your feet and begging you.I am unable to control my frustration. that is why I am stooping so low to claim your hand in marriage.till now,Ravana had never bowed his head before a woman. Ravana was happy that hearing his long adorable speech,Seetha would accept his wish.

Ravana takes Seetha to Lanka

while going,Seetha saw five monkeys on one mountain.she felt that they would tell Rama about her.so,tied some of her ornaments in a cloth and threw it to them.Ravana did not observe her act.Vaanaraas saw her weeping.Ravana crossed lake Pampa and reached Lanka.not realising the fact that Seetha is a venomous serpent to his life,he was holding her to his side and flying in the air.he crossed rivers,mountains,lakes,forests and crossed the ocean to reach Lanka.Siddha chaaranaas claimed that Ravanas chapter has come to an end. Ravana took Seetha to his mansion and started telling women there like this.all of you! be alert.without my permission,no one should see Seetha. you have to supply to her whatever she wants,like diamonds,clothes,ornaments.no one should say anything to her.if any one hurts or comments ,they would face death in my hands. Giving these orders, he came out of his building and selected eight strong demons and told them like this.all of you,go to the place where Khara was living.Rama has killed many of our demons. I am very angry with Rama. I cant be happy unless he is killed.so,you go there,have an eye on his movements and kill him.you tell about his movements from time to time.I am sending you ,because you are all great warriors.be alert and see that Rama comes to his fatal end.they all went to Kharas place and Ravana felt as if he had already succeeded in his mission. Ravana was moonstruck by Seethas beauty. his mind could not think other than Seetha.He again went into his palace .Seetha devi was lying down among demon women.by force,he showed his palace to her.he felt strongly that seeing his riches and affluence,she would agree to his wishes.

nature laments Seethadevis plight

Seetha Devi was weeping. herb flowers were crushed.her ornaments were not in their place.Ravana came held her by her hair.From that moment,his down fall started .as soon as hetouched her,world became dull and dark.air became static. Brahma saw her situation through his powerful eyes and said,it is over. may be he meant that Ravanas chapter was over.all sages felt happy that Ravanas end has neared but were sorry for Seetha.Seetha was lamenting,Rama! Lakshmana!.but Ravana took hold of her to his side and flew into the air. Seetha was fair and was wearing an yellow saree. it looked as if she was a lightning in the dark cloud.sound made by her ornaments was like thunder.Ravana was flying in the sky. Seethas flowers were dropping on to the ground.one of her anklets fell to the ground.she was like a golden chain tied to a dark elephant,the way he was holding her to his side.it looked as if he was carrying an asteroid in the sky.her ornaments were falling in such a fashion that they looked like stars falling from sky.all trees were swaying to the speed with which Ravana was flying.birds which were sitting on the branches of the trees were making sounds . it was as if trees were holding out their hands and telling Seetha not to be afraid.lotus flowers in the ponds dried as if they too were lamenting FOR the difficulties of Seetha.wild animals like lions,tigers and others were running behind Ravanas shadow with anger.hills and rivulets appeared as if mountains were weeping seeing Seethas agony.even sun lost his lustre.all five elemants of nature were deploring Ravanas heinous act. dieties of the forest also wept for her.Seetha was afraid because she could not identify her husbands whereabouts.she got angered. she started abusing him for his act.Ravana!you are a loafer.you have snatched me when Rama and Lakshmana were not at home.is this your valor?stop! do not run away.if you come across Rama,you would lose your life.you can not face his arrows.I am telling all this for your good only. leave me.first,know one thing. for whatever intentions you are taking me,you can not achieve them.your trials are an utter waste. one thing is for sure. your death is nearing by.you have tied yamapaasam to your neck.in short time ,you are going to see golden trees and blood filled Vaitharinee river.you can not divert Ramas arrow and escape from it.it will kill you,wherever you may hide.do not forget how he killed your people in your place earlier.so he would never leave you,because you have confiscated his wife. whatever ,she tried to tell him,Ravana did not pay any heed.he continued his journey.

Seetha sees Jataayuvu

Seethadevi saw Jatayuvu,which was on a tree.she wept seeing Jataayuvu.she told him like this.Jataayu!this demon is taking me away from my husband as if I am a destitute.he is strong.you can not fight him.you tell about my plight to Rama and Lakshmana.Jataayuvu saw Seetha.he addressed Ravana. Ravana!Sree Rama is the king of this entire world.he does good to every one.THis woman,Seetha devi is his wife.She is a pious lady and loyal wife to her husband.Lusting for another mans wife is very wrong.you too are a king.king like you should not go for another mans wife.the way you protect your wives,others wives are also to be protected in similar fashion.dont you know that simple rule. Aking should not waver from right path.riches would not stay eternally in the house of bad people.Rama has not done you any harm.just because Khara attacked him,he had to kill Khara.he had no other go.so he had to war and kill other demons too.he is not wrong in any way.please leave Seetha.Rama can kill you simply by his serious looks only.Taking Seetha along with you is as if you have tied snake to your garments .you are tying death to your to your throat.ONE has to bear the burden one can bear.one has to so much which one can digest.excess is not good in any way. hey Ravana!I am sixty thousand year old.I am an aged person.you are young. you are adorned with body shields,bow and arrows and alighted on a chariot.even then ,you cant take her away safely.you cant take her away while I AM ALIVE.If you are a warrior,stop and fight with me.you would come to the fate faced by Khara.your death is nearing you. It would take no time for Rama to kill you.Rama and Lakshmana are at a distance.I cant bring them here immediately.You are afraid of them.that is why you are running away.But I will not let you go.I will happily give away my life for the sake OF Rama.hey Ravana!stop !I will fight with you and kill you.I will protect Seetha.

Seetha taken away by Ravana

Ravana did not care even a bit. he talked in this fashion.Seeth!IT SEEMS you are crazy.you are denying to accept my valour.Without any help,I can stand in the sky and hold the entire universe in my hands.I can drink the entire water of the ocean.I am yama even to yama.If you want a husband ,who is world famous,come to me.I am the appropriate husband to you.why are you facing all the trouble with inefficient husband who lost his kingdom unnecessarily.Rama is just a huma being. his life span is limited.If you come under my protection,no one can harm you. Saying these words ,Ravana caught hold of Seetha.he held her hair with left hand and her apparel with his right hand. he took hold of her and holding her to his lap,he took her to the chariot.she became unconscious by this act.she regained consciousness and cried aloud,Rama!Rama!Ravanas plane,pushpaka vimanam was flying in the air. she became mad with fear,tension and sorrow.She was calling at Lakshmana and saying that he was unable to find that she was lost.hey Rama! you came to the woods to protect righteousness,but I fell into the hands of a wrong man.THis demon is taking me away from you by force and deceit.You kill this demon. she turned towards Ravana and started cursing him.Ravana !you are sure to die in the hands of Rama.Kaikeyis wish has succeeded to the fullest extent.oh trees of the forest.I am requesting you.tell Rama that a demon named Ravana has taken away his wife by force.Oh mountains,O river Godavari!I am praying you with folded hands.please convey my plight to Rama.oh wild animals of the forest!oh birds of the forest! and all other living creatures of the forest!please explain my hardships to Rama.If he knows about my fate now,he would definitely come and save me,whether I am in hell or heaven.

Ravana boasts about himself

Ravana was irritated by Seethas reply. he crinkled his forehead and started answering her.Seetha!I am Ravana.I am the brother of Kubera.I have ten heads,and I am called Dasagreeva.I won over Kubera and brought his Pushpaka vimaanam.all the dieties,gandharvas,demons,humans are afraid of me.I terrorise them.Because of that fear only,Kubera left his city,Lanka and is taking shelter in Kailash mountains. Sun god,vaayudevudu,and other gods are afraid of me.Lanka has all the riches.there are beautiful gardens in Lanka.If you are with me,we can enjoy our lives there.you dont even remember Rama if you are there. If your husband was valiant enough ,he would not have come to the woods,leaving the kingdom to Bharatha,as soon as his father has ordered him to go to woods.he lost his kingdom.he is living the life of a sage.how can you enjoy your life with him ,without any pleasures?dont send me away.you are sure to repent afterwards.you praised your husband very much.but ,in reality,he is nothing before me, when at war.Because you are lucky,I came across you.dont lose this oppurtunity to leave Rama. earlir,OOrvasi rejected Puroorava and later repented her decision.dont act like her and reject me.at present ,I am requesting you to come with me.be alert and take the right decision. Seetha looked at him with annoyance. she called him a bad soul and replied him in this fashion.being the brother of Kubera,how can you think of such grotesque and cheap things?bad time has come to you and your people.can anyone take away Ramas wife and still be alive?even if you drink amrutham ,you can not stay alive. Ravana lost his temper and clapped his hands. he regained his original form with ten heads and stood before her.

Ravana reveals his identity

Ravana too started speaking about himself.Seetha!I am the king of demons.my name is Ravana.every one,in all three lokas,are afraid even to hear my name.you come with me and be my queen.I am lusting for you.the famous Lankapuri is our capital.it stands on a mountain. it is surrounded by huge ocean.we can go and enjoy ourselves among beautiful gardens there.it is not justifiable for you to stay in the woods.you follow me. you will be having easily four to five thousand assistants to assist and attend you in every aspect.we can live happily ever after. Seetha was aghast hearing these words of the person,whom she thought to be a pious sage.she too spoke out her mind.loafer!you are bound to die.you know neither about me nor about my husband.he is like a stable and magnificient mountain.he is calm and composed like an ocean.he is truthful.he is great human soul.he has firm control over his senses.he is like a lion in valour.he is the son of a king.his face glows like a full moon all the time. I always follow my husband ,wherever he is.I am like a sun,whom you can not touch.just because death is approaching you,you are lusting for me.it is as if you are trying to pull out the fangs of a snake or the canine teeth of a lion.you are trying to drink the poison and still want to survive.you are trying to cleanse your eyes with needles.you are trying to lick at the sharp edge of a sword.you are trying to cross the ocean ,tying a big rock to your neck.it looks as if you are trying to tie fire in a cloth.where is the resemblance between you two. you are a jackal.he is a lion.you are a rivulet. he is an ocean.you are a crow. he is an eagle. even if you capture me now,you cant digest me.you would be like a fly which had gulped a diamond.you too would be facing the same plight.all powerful Rama is going to kill you with his bow and arrows in no time. talking like this,Seetha was shivering like a leaf with tension and emotion.

seethas reply to Ravana

Seetha started to attend to Ravana respectfully because she genuinely thought that he was a real sage.she showed him a high level seat and offered fruits to him.she started to look for the arrival of Rama and LAKSHMANA.BUT THERE WAS NO TRACE OF THEIR ARRIVAL. believing him to be genuine ,she started telling about her self to Ravana.Hey Brahmin!I am the daughter of mithila king,Janaka.my name is Seetha.I am the wife of Rama.I enjoyed luxurious life in our in laws house for twelve years.In the thirteenth year our father in law thought of enthroning Rama .Third wife of our father in law,lady named Kaikeyi obtained two boons earlier from her husband. she now wanted them to be fulfilled.she wanted her son to be made the king. she wanted Rama to go to woods for fourteen years.she threatened to fast till death if the king did not implement her wishes.in spite of his repeated requests and pleadings,she did not waver from her decision.My husband is twenty five years old. I am eighteen years old. My husband is famous as Ramudu in this world.he has all the good qualities.he is a righteous man.he is apious man.he has wide eyes.he has strong shoulders.he does good to every one and all the pancha mahaa bhoothaas. our father in law is a lustful man.to please his wife,Kaikeyi,he stopped making Rama the king of Ayodhya.Rama went to his father to give his approval to be made the king.but Kaikeyi told him that his father has given the approval to make Bharatha ,the king.Ram,a had to go to the woods for fourteen years.you have to see that your fathers words to me do not go wrong.my husband is a great man. he always gives things to others. he never tells lies.he always speaks the truth. so Rama had accepted the decision and come to the woods.his younger brother,Lakshmana has accompanied him to the woods.Lakshmana is a valiant man. he kills enemies in war ruthlessly.he follows righteous path and justice.my husband has come to the woods like a sage. Lakshmana and myself accompanied him to Dandakaaranya.because of Kaikeyi we lost our kingdom and are living in the woods. o RISHI!WAIT A MINUTE!My husband will come any minute.what is your name?why are you moving about in the woods alone?

raavana moonstruck with Seethas beauty

Raavana observed Lakshmana leaving Seetha. he came to Ramas abode in the guise of a sage.he wore delicate and thin orange robe that is generally worn by sages.he had an umbrella,paadukalu,dandamu,kamandalamu and his hair was in jatas.he appeared to be having all the attributes of a rishi.trees shivered with the fear of Ravana.air was still.river Godavari dtopped its speed and started to flow slowly and calmly.Raavana approached Seetha stealthily like Sani planet was approaching the star ,Chithra.Seethadevi was weeping thinking of her husbands welfare.Ravana reached her uttering aloud vedas. coming near Seetha ,he talked to her in this fashion.hey girl1!who are you? your body is shining like gold.the yellow saree you are wearing is very beautiful . you are adorned with flowers and appearing to be like padmini.are you hreedevatha,keerthidevatha,sreedevathaa,lakshmi devatha,apsarasaor aiswarya devatha?please tell me.your beauty has made me mad and lose myself.I have never seen such beauty either among dieties or among humans. seeing your beauty,delicateness,youth,tenderness,your life in these woods,I AM LOSING CONTROL OVER MY SELF.FOREST IS NOT THE RIGHT PLACE to you.here demons live. please go away from this notorious place.you are supposed to stay in beautiful places like castles,citiesand beautiful gardens.who is your husband/why are you staying in aplace which is full of wild animals?

LAKSHMANA LEAVES SEETHA UNDER PRESSURE

Lakshmana was unhappy with these devlopments. he was going in the right path. but Seetha was accusing him of all the wrong intentions. he was bitter at her attitude.he replied her like this.you have blamed me unnecessarily. all the dieties of the forest are witnesses for your accusations.on my brothers bidding I AM staying here ,protecting you.but you are doubting my integrity and intentions. you would be burned with this sin of yours.I amgoing in search of Rama. may all the dieties of the forest protect you. hey mother1I am getting all the bad premonitions.I am doubting strongly if I can ever see you after returning with Rama. at these words Seetha started to weep aloud.she was uttering these words in agony. I cant live without Rama.I will drown myself in Godavari river.or I would hang myself.I would take poison.or I would enter in fire and burn myself till death approaches me.I would prefer these things, but I would not touch any other man,even with my toes.saying these words she cried thrashing at her stomach.Lakshmana tried very hard to make her see reason but could not succeed.she paid a deaf ear to his pleadings.she stopped talking to him. Lakshmana could do nothing. dejectedly,he left her ,turning back again and again to see her for the last time before going to Rama. see the turn of events. whatever bad she thought about Lakshmana materialised in the form of Ravana with in no time.may it was her sixth sense to feel unsecured and at danger in the presence of another man.may be Ravanas shadow and his bad intentions already fell on her.the dialogue between Seetha and Lakshmana forebodes the future and hardships of Seetha.

SEETHA accuses LAKSHMANA of bad intentions

Seetha devi heard the words of Maareecha. she was worried about Ramas safety.she addressed Lakshmana like this. Lakshmana!I feel Rama is in trouble.I cant stay calm. please go and help your brother.Lakshmana did not make a move as per the directions of Rama.Seetha got angered.she questioned why he was not heeding her words. why he was not going to the rescue of his brother.Lakshmana!you are an enemy of Rama in the guise of a well wisher.you have bad intentions on me.that is why you are hoping some bad to happen to your brother.that is the reason why you are standing stilleven after my repeated requests to you to go and help your brother.if you had really come to the woods to look after your brothers safety,would you be still standing like a rock without going to his help? Lakshmana was aghast at her accusations.he tried to make her see reason in his actions,attitude and behaviour.hey mother!why are afraid like this. Rama would never come to any harm. there is no real danger to him.dieties,demons,humans or who ever they might be,none can harm him.do not be worried about his welfare.the voice you heard is not the real voice of my brother,Rama.it is an action and illusion of demons.from the time we killed Khara and Dooshana,all the demons have developed enmity against us.do not be afraid. I would not leave you. my brother has ordered me to protect you and I WOULD DO THE SAME. Seetha lost her temper.she started accusing him with all the wrong insinuations.her eyes became red with anger and tension. she cried like this.definitely you have bad intentions on me and are contriving to execute them.you are a black mark to your dynasty.it you you are happy that Rama is in real danger.you are a cunning fellow. you are not straight forward.you have crooked mentality.you have come to the woods for me only.Bharatha would have been happy for your treacherous mind and loved you.otherwise why would you accompany Rama when he was coming alone? Seetha was talking without reason or rhyme. actually Bharatha was not in Ayodhya when they left for the woods.really it was wrong to blame him in this context,But Seetha talked without any proper thinking.I would not make your wishes come to reality. I would rather die . so do not breed any hopes.I would die immediately now. hearing these words Lakshmana talked to her respectfully like this.hey mother!you are like a god to me. I am not going to answer your accusations.it seems that women speak like this quite often.you have forotten righteousness.you are very harsh.you bring enemity between friends.your words like daggers to my ears. I am unable to control my self hearing those harsh and cruel words.

rama follows golden deer

Rama held his bow and arrows and followed the golden deer.the deer was running away.one moment it would appear to be near and in the next moment it would appear afar.it made Rama run after it a very long distance far away from his abode.Rama was losing temper. he was angry that he could not catch it alive.he too was attracted by its beauty in a way.he stood under a tree recouping himself. deer appeared very near him. he went to grab it and catch hold of it. but it ran away very far.again it appeared behind the trees near him.Rama was exhausted. he understood that he could not catch it alive. so he released his arrow to kill it. Maareecha jumped above and fell down to the ground in his real form. he remebered the words of Ravana and cried in the voice of Rama,hey Seetha!HEY Lakshmana1 and died. Rama understood the treachery and started to return home.he remembered Seetha. he was worried what she would be thinking because the demon cried in his voice,hey SEETHA AND HEY LAKSHMANA!.HE WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE WELFARE OF LAKSHMANA AND SEETHA.

SEETHA SEES GOLDEN DEER

Maareecha took to the form of golden deer and started moving about near the abode of RAMA.WILD ANIMALS IN THE WOODS CAME NEAR THE GOLDEN DEER,BUT SNIFFINF AT THE SMELL,THEY TURNED AND RAN AWAY.After some time,Seetha came out to collect flowers . she saw the golden deer. all its body was studded with diamonds.it was very beautiful to look at.she had never seen such a beautiful creature earlier. she was astonished by its beauty.she called RAMA AND LAKSHMANA and showed them the golden deer.Lakshmana immediately doubted that it would have been the foul play of demons. it must be Maareecha,he strongly felt and told them so. SEETHA DID NOT LIKE LAKSHMANAS WORDS. SHE WANTED THE GOLDEN DEER AT ANY COST. SHE PLEADED WITH RAMA.SHETOLD HIM TO BRING IT ALIVE SO THAT SHE COULD PLAY WITH IT. OTHERWISE,SHE WANTED TO SIT ON ITS SKIN,IF IT WAS KILLED.WHEN SHE WOULD GO BACK TO AYODHYA ,SHE WANTED TO SHOW IT OFF TO HER MOTHERS IN LAW . EVEN RAMA WAS FASCINATED BY THE BEAUTY OF THE GOLDEN DEER. HE FELT STRONGLY TO GO AND COLLECT IT FOR SEETHA.HE TOLD LAKSHMANA LIKE THIS.IF THIS DEER IS REALLY MAAREECHA,I WOULD KILL IT AND BRING THE SKIN TO SEETHA.OTHERWISE,SHE COULD PLAY WITH HE WARNED LAKSHMANA TO BE ALERT AND CAREFUL OF DEMONS IN THE FOREST.HE WANTER HIM TO PROTECT SEETHA IN HIS ABSENSE.JATAAYUVU WOULD BE THERE TO HELP HIM IN TIMES OF NEED.

maareechas philosophical dialogues

Ravana is tempting maareecha to accept his mission. he is luring him with half of his kingdom.maareecha!do this favor to me. after I dont ask you where you would go or what you would do.Start immediately.I will also accomapany you.We can have seetha without a war with Rama,this way.we would accomplish this deed and go back to lanka happily. Either do things according to my bidding or get killed by me immediately.I would make you do things even against your will,under pressure.no one can survive after antagonising a king.there may be a doubt whether Rama would kill you or not. but if you dont obey me,you are sure to die in my hands.there is no doubt about it. so,think over coolly. Maareecha had no choice. he answered him in this manner.some one has given you this wrong and wicked idea. ministers should not misdirect their king. if king is in the wrong,they should correct him in time.but your ministers have failed to correct you.so,they are real culprits. king is the centre of justice and victory and righteous path.but you are wicked.your ways are vicious.so,your people are bound to be destroyed .I AM LEAST WORRIED ABOUT MY FATE.I am more worried about your people who are going to die in this conflict.After killing me,Rama is definitely going to kill you.it is better to die in his hands than by you. I KNOW FOR SURE that as soon as I AM SPOTTED BY RAMA,I AM going to be killed by him.but your fate is also sealed.as soon as you capture Seetha,you,along with your relatives and people are going to be killed by him. I am starting. I know that I WOULD NOT BE RETURNING BACK.AS SOON AS RAMA sees me,I AM SURE TO LOSE MY LIFE.HE NEED NOT EVEN RELEASE HIS ARROW.I am ready. RAVANA WAS HAPPY TO HEAR THESE WORDS. HE HUGGED MAAREECHA AND THEY STARTED IN HIS CHARIOT TO WHERE RAMA IS LIVING.MAAREECHA SHOWED HIM RAMAS HUT. HE TOLD HIM TO DO HIS PART WHILE HE WOULD ATTEND TO HIS PORTION OF THE ACT.

ravanas hypocracy

Ravana did not heed maareechas good words.he was adamant.he counter attacked maareecha with his arrogance.MAAREECHA!why are you indulging in useless talk?Rama can never harm me.a person who leaves his friends,parents,kingdom,kith and kin to the forest giving importance to the words of a woman can never harm me.I will definitely grab Seetha.I WOULD DO IT BEFORE YOUR EYES ONLY.not only you,but even dieties can not divert and distract me from this mission. I did not ask you to give your idea ,whether this act is good or not. i only directed you to do things according to my bidding.Aminister has to speak out his mind only on the directions of the king.otherwise he should keep quiet.even if the minister wants to say something that is good for the king,he should tell it in a docile and pleading manner.he should never say it in harsh and derogatory manner.would king hear his words if someone told him in that high handed manner? King is the amalgamation of agni,indra,chandra,varuna and yama.kings will be having the heat of agni,valour of indra,coolness of the moon,pleasantness of rain,punishing nature of yama..all in one.so you should respect the king all the time.you are forgetting how to respect a king. you are pointing your finger at me.it is wrong. yoy have to act according to my command.you move near Seetha in the guise of a golden deer.you divert and take rama astray and cry haa seetha,haa lakshmana in the voice of Rama.then lakshamana would run for helping his brother,Rama.I WOULD take away seetha in the mean time.

Maareechas good words to Ravana

Ravana is telling Maareecha how he should bring Seetha to him.Inthe guise of a golden deer ,he has to move about near Seetha.Seetha would definitely ask Rama and Lakshmana to bring the golden deer to her.Maareecha has to take them far away.In between Ravana would snatch Seetha .

Even if war ensues later,Ravana could handle it because by then Rama would be woe struck with theloss of his beloved wife.
Maareecha tells Ravana so.No one is ready to tell unpalatable truth these days.If Rama loses his temper entire Demons dynasty would go to dogs.May be that Seetha is born to kill Raavana.Lanka is going to dogs for havin Ravana as its emperor.He was a cruel ruler,sadist and a womaniser.

Rama was not thrown out by his father.Being on the side of justice,onhis fathers wish,he had left for the woods.He is the ruler of all the mankind.Seetha can save herself by her own powers of sanctity and purity.Dont become prey to Ramas arrows.Both love each other so much.No one can separate them.So dont brew ill of Rama.It is not good for you.Go back o Lanka and think properly.

Maareecha started telling his experience with Rama erstwhile.At that time Maareecha thought that Rama was a mere boy.So,it would be very easy to kill him.He pounced on Yaagasaala of Viswamithra,but by the power of Ramas arrow he fell hundred yojanas away and fainted.
Ravana,You have thousands of wives.Lust for others wife is prepostorous.Save yourself by being contented with what you have.
Maareecha tried to harm Rama again when he was in woods.He thought that as Rama was in the guise of a sage,it would be easy to win over him.But by his arrows again,he had to run for his life.He is afraid to such an extent that even if he heard the letter Ra,he would go into jitters.

I know his effect very much.If you want to save your life,and your kingdom,keep away from him.Now,I am leading a life of a sage.Dont make me a scapegoat for your evils.You are saying that Rama killed Khara,but in reality Khara went against him and then Rama killed him.
