Raama Raavana war starts

Raama turned towards Lanka and remembered Seetha and her plight.He decided to kill Vaanaraas and gave directions to vaanaraas to kill the enemies.Vaanaraas took trees and boulders and got ready for making simhanaadam.They climbed the outer walls,entered the city,filled the trenches and destroyed houses and buildings.Army leaders took up their predestined positions.Raama and Lakshmana reached northern gate.Vibheeshana put on his armour and moving there waiting for the command.Raavana also moved his armies.Sounds of trumpets reached the sky.Vaanaraas also made simhanaadam.War started.Vaanaraas were hailing their king Sugreeva and fighting.Fight between two individuals and in groups started.Fight between angada and Indrajith,Sampaathi(vibheeshanaas minister) and Prajanghudu,Hanumantha and Jambumaali,Vibheeshana and Mithraghnudu,Neeludu and Kumbhudu,Sugreeva and Praghasudu,Lakshmana and Viroopaakshudu as duel.Agnikethudu,Rasmikethudu,Supthaghnudu and Yajnakopudu ...all four of themattacked Raama and Raama killed all of them.Angada destroyed Indrajiths chariot and killed its driver.Many demons died in the hands of vaanaraas.Many were injured.They were waiting for dusk to set in.Sun set in the west but the war did not stop.It continued even during the night.In the dark they killed some of their own peoplealso.Demons started eating vaanaraas in the dark.Raama and Lakshmana killed many demons by attacking them with arrows.Besides darkness,dust that rose by armies movement dulled their eye sight.Blood ran in rivulets.Vaanaraas and demons died in huge numbers.Demons attacked Raama.Due to his attack,Yamasathrudu,Mahaapaarsvudu,Mahodarudu,Vajradanshtrudu,Suka and Saarana could not withstand and ran back and saved their lives.Golaangoola warriors started eating demons. Angada killed chariot horses and its driver.He tried to kill Indrajith but he disappeared by mesmerism.Sages and deities praised Angadas talent.Raama,Lakshmana and Sugreeva also praised Angada.Raama told Vaanaraas to be alert from Indrajith.He would kill him soon.They need not fear Indrajith any more.

Angada sent as ambassador to Raavana

As perolitical strategy,Raama discussed with the leaders and with the permission of Vibheeshana,decided to send Angada,as their ambassador.Angada!fly to Lanka and tell the words which I tell you to deliver,to Raavana,without fear.Raakshasaadhamaa(cheap demon)!I am waiting near your Lankas entrance like your death.You kidnapped my wife,when we were away.Hand over Seetha to me and request me to pardon you.Otherwise,I would use my arrows and make this universe devoid of demons.Righteous Vibheeshana will be made king of Lanka,by me.You are a hopeless sinner.You sided with wrong.You not fit to be a king ever for a second.You would become pure with my arrows.You can do your own last rites.You can not see Lanka again,so see it for the last time.Your life is in my grip. Angada went to Raavanaas assembly and told this message to Raavana.I am Raamaas agent.I am the son of Vaali.I think you might have heard about me.Raama has sent you a message.hear it.As soon as he heard the message,Raavana roared and told hissecurity persons to catch and kill Angada.Four demons came and caught him.Angada willingly got captive and then held them under his shoulders and flew over to the ceiling.To his speed,demons fell down.Angada broke the ceiling of the assembly and roared like a lion and flew through air to reach Raama.All this happened in front of Raavana and he could nothing to prevent it.He lost his temper.He started fearing that his end is nearing. Vast armies surrounded Lanka.Demons were afraid and lamenting their fate.Some of them went to Raavana and told him that Vaanaraas invaded the city.Raavana gave specific instructions to safe guard the city and went up his palace to see the situation.Where ever he saw,there were vaanaraas only.Raavana started getting disheartened.

Raavana and Sugreevaas duel

Sugreeva lounged at Raavana and dismantled his crown.Raavana was aghast that his crown was taken off from his head.He threatened Sugreeva that he would cut off his throat.Raavana threw Sigreeva down.Sugreeva again leaped and threw him down again.Both fought severe duel.Both fought with their fists and legs.Both were getting tired.They were regaining their strength and fighting again.They started Malla yuddham,grappling combat.They were like cats waiting for the prowl and ready to fight for it.Raavana was getting exhausted.He thought of doing war by tricking the opponent by illusion.Learning about his intentions,Sugreeva flew back to Raama. Raama hugged him and chided him.Sugreeva!how could you do such a silly act without consulting me?Would a king do such unthougtful and daringacts?If you get harmed in the process,what can I do with Seetha,my brothers or even my body itself?Do you think I do not know about your valor?I would kill Raavana and make Vibheeshana king of Lanka.But do not involve in such daring acts again .Sugreeva answered that as soon as he saw the culprit who kidnapped Raamaas wife,Seetha,he lost his cool.Can any valiant person keep quiet in such situation? Raama turned towards Lakshmana that omens are indicating that great war is in the offing.So,let us send our armies upon Lanka.All of them came down the mountain.Raama started walking towards Lanka.Army walked along with him.They travelled like this and reached the outskirts of Lanka.They took up the predetermined positions.Raama and Lakshmana stood near the northen gate.That was the gate where Raavana determined to guard.So,besides Raama ,no other person can protect it.Neela was protecting eastern gate,Angada southern gate and Hanumantha western gate along with their armies.Sugreeva was protecting centre of the army,Madhyagulmamu.At each gate,vaanaraas were standing in crores.Lanka shivered with fear as the armies walked past And started attacking.

Raama decides his strategy

To decide war strategy,Raama,Lakshmana,Sugreeva,Vibheeshana and Hanumantha met.Vibheeshana started telling Raama.Lord Raama!my four ministers went to Lank ,in the guise of birds and came with the information about preparations.At the Eastern gate Prahasthudu,Southern gate Mahodara and Mahaapaarsvulu,western gate Indrajith,Northern gate Raavana,himself and at the centre Viroopaakshidu are protecting.Hey lord!Raavana is not easy to win over.He defeated even Kubera.Excuse me for saying this.I only told this to bring out your anger but not tobring out fear in you.I know that you can defeat even deities at war.You divide and plan our army in such a fashion that Raavana would perish with all his followers. Raama answered like this.It is nice to hear these facts.we will plan our strategy.To the eastern side of Lanka,neeludu,Southern gate Angadudu,Western gate Hanumantha would safe guard.I would kill Raavana myself.So ,along with Lakshmana,I would cover northern gate.Sugreeva,Jaambavantha and Vibheeshana would Stand in the central Gulamamu.Gulmamu means a troop of cavalry,infantry,nine chariots and nine elephants.One thing I want to specify.All vaanaraas should fight in their natural form.They should not acquire human form.Then it would be use to identify our people from enemys army.Myself,Lakshmana,Vibheeshana,his four ministers would be in our human forms. They made all the arrangements.Then Raama addressed Sugreeva that they should go up the Suvela mountain and spend the night there.HewNted to see Lanka city from above the mountain.I am losing my temper hearing Raavanaas name itself.For ones mistakes,entire clan is getting demolished.They all climbed the mountain.Raama was awed by seeing Lanka and its galore.Outer ring walls of the city were superb.dark skinned demons who were patrolling the outer ring appeared to be another wall.They slept that night there on the mountain top.In the morning they saw the city of Lanka,its gardens and near hy forests.They equalled Indras Nandanavanam and Kuberaas Chaithra radham.All trees were full of sweet scented flowers or fruits.Vaanaraas entered those gardens.Some more vaanaraas took Sugreevaas permission and entered into Lanka.They were making huge hair rising sounds in the hearts of enemies.City of Lanka was situated on the top of Thrikoota parvatham,mountain.It was hundred yojanaas long and thirty yojanaas wide.It was full of golden outer walls and roofs.Thousand pillared Chaithya praasaadam was reaching up to the sky.Raama was astonished to observe flourishing Lanka ,in all aspects. By that time,Raavana was standing on the top of the hill.He was majestic adorned with golden ornaments,crown and golden umbrellas and fans.Raama,Sugreeva and others saw Raavana.Sugreeva lost his temper seeing Raavana there and lounged at him,saying that he was Raamaas friend and hewould not leave himjust like that.

Raavana discusses war strategies with ministers

Raavana talked to ministers in irritating manner.Ministers!I have heard all your words relating to how Raama crossed the sea,his strength,army size of the vaanaraas and how you praised them.I also observed that you are all worried and looking each others faces.Maalyavanthudu,Raavanaas maternal uncle,addressed Raavana.Raavanaa!in warfare,there is a rule.If we are weak,we should try for truce.We have to go for war only when we are strong.At this time,it os better to make truce with Raama.We can try for truce by handing over Seetha,sole cause of this war,to Raama.Raavanaa!deities and sages are wishing Raamaas victory.Wrongs which you are doing are on the rise.So,we are deteriorating day by day.You harmed sages.They are attacking demons by the power of chanting vedas.Smoke that is releasing due to rituals,Homam,is capturing the halo and aura of demons.Penance of Sages is making demons tense and dried up.The boon which you received from Brahma doesnot cover Vaanaraas and Human beings.Bad omens are being visible and directing towards destruction on large scale.Please hear my words.You assess both gain and loss before taking your next step. Raavana lost his temper and angrily replied him.He knit his brows and saidscathingly.It seems you joined the enemy camp and advising wrongly in the guise of helping me.You are praising a simpleton who came with mere monkeys to battle with me.You are humiliating me.I do not know whether you are talking like this out of jealousy,partiality or by enemys goading.Raama can not defeat me.May be you are afraid because he built the bridge over the sea.It is not a very great task.There is nothing to fear about that.Raama has crossed the sea but he can never return back alive.I am not afraid of Raama.I would never release Seetha whom I brought from my land?I prefer to be broken into two pieces rather than bend before some one.That is my weakness.No one can encompass that nature of mine.Maalyavanthudufelt ashamed and left the assembly in humility. Raavana discussed with his ministers regarding protection of Lanka and made all the arrangements.He kept Prahasthudu in Eastern gate,Mahodara,Mahaapaarsvulu in the southern door,Indrajith near western gate,Suka and Saaranana at northern gate and decided to stay himself at northern gate.He appointed Viroopaaksha in the centre.Giving these directions,he felt successful of making all the arrangements and left the assembly.

Sarama pacifies Seetha

Sarama was one of the servants employed by Raavana to watch Seetha.But ,she became friend of Seetha.She has so much love for Seetha and she was kind hearted.Hse knows how to talk in an endearing manner.Sarama started pacifying Seetha.Seetha!get control over yourself!calm down!Sree Raama is alive.I heard what all Raavana said hiding behind the trees.I am ready to sacrifice my life for your sake.I also found out the reason behind his hasty retreat,just now.Do you it is possible for anyone to kill Raama ,while he is sleeping?This is all an illusion.I am going to give you a good message!Raama has crossed the sea,along with his army and is settled on Lanka shore.I saw Raama and Lakshmana personally with my own eyes.Raavana learnt about these developments and left abruptly to discuss about them.As Sarama was telling this,they could hear demon armies marching past. Sarama continued her talk.Are you hearing that noise?Raavana is collecting his armies.Shortly,all your worries would be put to end.Victory is going to be yours.Within no time,Raama would kill Raavana and accept you.In no time,you would be sitting on his lap.You can hug him and embrace him and weep tears of joy.Raama would smoothen and straighten your long,uncombed hair shortly.Your sorrow would leave you forever after seeing Raamaas beautiful face.Raama would kill Raavana and live thereafter happily with you.Seetha!pray Sun God.He would definitely help you.Oh my friend!I am eager to go and tell about you to Raama!shall I?I will fly in the sky in no time and come back immediately. Seetha replied her friend.Saramaa!I know your pwoer.I know that you are ready to do anything for me.Even then,do not go to Raama now.Raavana is causing me trouble frequently.Go and find out what he is doing now.Ther are two reasons behind Seetha objecting Sarama from going to Raama.If Raama knows that Seetha is safe and secure,Raama might relax from his mood.What would he arrive at,when he learns Seethaas welfare from a demon? Sarama went immediately and found out about Raavanaas activities and returned.Seetha hugged her and made her sit and asked her to tell the facts she found out. Sarama started to tell what all she found out.Devi!Raavanaas mother pleaded with her son,many a time,to release you.An aged minister,Aviddhudu,also tried to change Raavanaas mind in this matter.Raama is not a simple mortal.Remember how he killed our demons in our own land,janasdhaanam.Do not forget the fact that Hanumantha crossed the huge sea,saw Seetha,and killed many demons.Hand over Seetha to Raama in respectable manner.But Raavana did not care for these adivises.Raavana is not going to leave you even if entire demons,he himself get killed in the ensuing war.Seetha also wants Raama to kill Raavana.Till then she would not feel happy.Seetha!Raama would kill Raavana and take you to Ayodhya.Immediately,they could hear noises of vaanaraas.Demons were afraid to hear the sound of trumpets and hoots of sea shells,Sankham.Raama moved his vaanara armies.

Raavana lies to Seetha that Raama is dead!

Raavana told Vidyujjihvudu that they have to do mesmerism to unsettle Seetha.He wanted him to make Raamaas head and his bow and arrows and go along with him to Seetha.As per Raavanaas directions,Vidyujjihvudu made Raamaas head ,bow and arrows.Both of them went to Ashokavanam and played a skit to Make Seetha believe their words.When they,Seethadevi was thinking of Raama and sad.Vidyujjihuvudu hid behind and Raavana stood before her and exclaimed.Hey Seetha!the man whom you believed would relieve you has died in war.Now your ego has evaporated.From now onwards,I need not beseech you to accept me,your sorrow would make me my wife.You need feel sorry that your husband has died.You can live happily with me.Let me tell you how your husband got killed. Raama came ,along with vaanara army,to kill me.By the time they reached the northern shore of the sea,it was dusk.Being tired by the tedious journey,they all slept.My secret agents went there and collected all the crucial information.My army chief,Prahasthudu went along with our army and killed all the vaanaraas.Prahasthudu killed Raama while he was asleep and brought his head.Vibheeshana tried to escape by flying into the sky.But our people caught him too.Lakshmana and some other leaders ran away in all the four directions.Sugreevaas throat has been cut.Jaw of Hanumantha broke and he lying there dead.Jaambavantha,Maindudu,Dvividudu and other great warriors have been killed.Panasudu has been cut into pieces by our demons.Dadhimukhudu,Kumududu,Angadudu are also dead.Amny vaanaraas died under the hoofs of horses and lega of elephants.Demons have broughtblood dripping head of your husband,Raama.Raavana told Servants there to bring forth Vidyujjihvudu,who brought Raamaas head.Vidyujjihvudu entered with Raamaas head,his bow and arrows.Raavana then asked Seetha to see Raamaas head,his bow and arrows,telling that they have been brought there by Prahasthudu.Seetha!believe me now. Seetha wept seeing the rolling head of Raama in the soil.There was Choodaamani also on his head.Every single aspect resembled Raamaas head accurately.She started accusing Kaikeyi.Kaikeyi!your wish has fulfilled.What harm did my husband do you,to make you send him to the forest?Seetha shivered with utmost sadness and laid unconscious on the ground.After some ime,she woke up and started weeping again.Seetha held Raamaas head and started lamenting.naadhaa!(husband)why did you make me destitute?Elders say that if wife has done some mistake,husband would die first.But,all along I have beenon righteous path.Why did it happen likethis?You came to help me and got yourself killed!Who can console Kousalyaas sorrow?Great scholars told that you would live longer! Where did they go wrong?Ther is nothing moreowerful than Time.Why is your bow like this,which we had been treating as pious object?You married me at a tender age.From then onwards,I had been your life partner and friend!Why are you not looking at me and talking to me?At the time of marriage,you promised that you would never leave alone!Then ,why have gone alone. Leaving me behind?Please take me along with you!The body which I embraced and hugged has become food for the wolves and foxes.When Lakshmana goes back to Ayodhya and tells Kousalya that demons have killed you at night time,while you were asleep,she would die out of heart break.You tried so hard to save me and in the last you succumbed to death.I have become death to you.Without knowing that I would be the cause of all this tragedy,you married me.In my earlier life,I might have stopped some ones marriage.That is why,though I am Raamaas wife,I am facing all this bad fate. Seetha requested Raavana to kill her too and make them one.She wept seeing Raamaas head and bow again and again. Then gate keeper came and reminded Raavana that Prahasthudu and other ministers were waiting in the assembly hall for important discussions and expecting his arrival.Raavana left the place for assembly hall.As soon as Raavana left,illusory Raamaas head,bow and arrows disappeared. In the assembly hall,they discussed about Raama only.After the completion of their meeting,Raavana directed his army chieves to alert the city and call for all the army persons.

Saardoola reveals his observations to Raavana

After reaching Raavana,agents told him that Raama has come with huge vaanara army and stationed at Suvela mountain.Raavana directed his enquiry towards Saardoola.Saardoolaa!did you find any war secrets?why are your faces so depressed?were you caught by vaanaraas? Saardoola replied to Raavanaas query.Hey lord!there is no chance for secret agents there.You can not speak to any one there.Strong vaanaraas are patrolling all the important ways.As soon as we went there,they recognised us.Vibheeshanaas ministers caught us and beat us.Vaanaraas wanted to put an end to our lives.My entire body was filled with blood and bruised.I saluted the vaanaraas and requested them to save my life.They took me to Raamaas presence.Raama released me from vaanaraas grip.Because of his kindness only,I am still alive.Hey lord! Raama is near the entrance of Lanka.He has planned Garuda vyooham to lounge at us.Please decide whether to hand over Seetha or start the war before he reaches outer ring of Lanka. Raavana was stubborn. he firmly said that at any cost he is not going to release Seetha.Demons or deities,who ever may come,he is not afraid.Again he started questioning Saardooludu.Saardoola!you have seen the vaanara army.Who are the valiant warriors in their camp?What is their strength?What is their parentage?Who are their forefathers?I want all the details. Saardooludu started explaining in detail.Hey lord!king of vaanaraas,Sugreeva,is the son of Ruksharajudu.Jaambavantha is The son of Gadgadudu.Dhoomrudu is Jaambavanthaas elder brother.Hanumanthaas father is Kesari.Kesari is the son of Bruhaspathi.Sushenudu is the son of Varuna devudu.Dadhimukhudu is the son of Moon.Sumukhudu,Durmukhudu and Vegadarsi are mruthyudevathalu,deities of death,who are made vaanaraas by Brahma.Their army chief,Neeludu,is the son of Agnidevudu,God of Fire.Hanumantha is the son of Vaayudevudu,God of Air.Angadudu is the grand son of Devendra.Maindudu and Dvividudu are the sons of Aswini deities.Gajudu,Gavaakshudu,Gavayudu,Sarabhudu and Gandhamaadanudu are the sons of Yama,king of Hell.Besides these,there are ten crores of vaanaraas,who are born to deities.They are all great warriors.All are in this army. Now,let me tell you about Raama.Raama is the son of king Dasaradha.He is a great warrior. Who has killed Khara,Dooshana and other demons.He killed Viraadhudu and Kabandhudu also.There is no one in this entire world,who can equal him in valor.Raama klled thousands of demons in their native place and his valor can not be explained in words.Lakshmana is younger brother of Raama.Lakshmana releases the arrows so fast that even Indra can not equal him.Swethudu and Jyothirmukhudu are sons of Sun.Hemakootudu is the son of Varuna devudu,God of Rain.Naludu is the son of Viswakarma.Durdharudu is the son of Vasu.In addition to all these,your younger brother,Vibheeshana is with them.He has accepted kingship already.He is ready to help Raama to the utmost extent.This is the news I have collected from them.You have to decide next plan of action.Vaanara army has invaded Suvela mountain already.Raavana shivered with fear hearing this explanation.He turned towards others and told them to call for all the ministers.Time has come to take up a firm decision.

Raavana lashes at Suka and Saarana

Raavana started speaking to Suka and Saarana in a humiliating manner.Those who are under the shelter of a king for evrything should never speak unpleasant words to him.You are praising the enemy even before the war has started.It seems that you do jot know politics.Even you had read it ,you had not understood it properly.Keeping such fools like you as my ministers till now is my pure luck and nothing else.Seeing you talk like this before me,I feel that you are not afraid of death.You,who are praising the enemy,are fit to be punished with death.Just because you were loyal to me in the past,I am letting you go with life.You do not show your face to me again.Get lost!Duka and Saarana saluted their king and left the place in silence. Raavana called Mahodara and told him to send for agents who are well versed in political science.Mahodarudu went and brought Saardooludu and other great scholars.Raavana addressed them.For a king who has good knowledge about enemys strong and weak points,it is very easy to win the war.So,you should go to Raama and collect their crucial information about war plans and strategy.You should about how they are making their war arrangements.How and when Raama goes to sleep?Who are his most trusted ministers?And any other important matter,you should observe and come back soon. Saardooludu and other agents came to Suvela mountain and looked at the vaanara army and felt very sad.Vibheeshana caught hold of them and handed over to the vaanaraas saying that Saardooludu is very wicked fellow.Vaanaraas thrashed him left and right.They imprisoned other agents.Sree Raama was kind enough to release all of them.They went back and started telling Raavana about their experiences.

Sukudu explains Raavana his version

Sukudu continued explaining to Raavana about Vaanara army.Hey lord!those two beautiful vaanaraas are Mainda and Dvivida.They drank the elixir with Brahmaas permission.One beside them is Sumukhudu and the other is Durmukhudu.They are Yamaas sons.They equal their father in valor.One with aura and shining is Hanumantha.We all know him.He is the great soul who flew over the sea to Lanka and saw Seetha.One who is near Hanumantha is Sree Raama.He is beautiful ,dark skinned and handsome.He has lotus like eyes.He is world class warrior.He is righteous.He would never waver from the right path.He knows Brahmaasthram and all the vedas.He can break open the sky with his arrows.When in anger,he is equal to Yama.He is valiant like Indra.Seetha,whom you kidnapped,is his wife.He has come to war with you.One who is to the right of Raama,is golden skinned Lakshmana.He is Raamaas younger brother.Raama treats him as his soul and he is dear to him.Lakshmana is well versed with war tactics.He is well read and knows all the sacred vedaas.He is a great warrior.He has good character.He is like right shoulder to Raama.He is ready to sacrifice his life for the sake of Raama.He wants to kill all the demons single handedly.Vibheeshana is to the left of Raama.He has been enthroned as king of Lanka by Raama.He is ready to war with you.One who is having Kaanchana mala is Sugreeva.Raama killed Vaali and gave that kingdom to Sugreeva. Hundred lakhs is one crore.one hundred thousand crores is one Sankhamu.hundred thousand Sankhamulu make a Mahaasankhamu.hundred thousand Sankhamulu make a Brundamu.hundred thousand Brundamulu make a Padamamu.hundred thousand Padmamulu make a Mahaapadmamu.Hundred thousand Mahaapadmamulu make a Kharvamu.hundred thousand Kharvamulu make a mahaakharvamu.Hundred thousand Mahaakharvamuku make a samudramu.hundred thousand Samudramulu make a Oghamu.Hundred thousand Oghamulu make a mahoughamu.This vaanara army is more than one crore MahaOghamulu.It is like a big sea.Sugreeva is the king of this entire army.Sugreeva is a great warrior and a strong soul.He has come here to wage a war against you. Hey king!you have to make correct moves to win over all these great warriors.Raavana was afraid after hearing about all these warriors from Suka and Saarana.

Raavana observes vaanara army from top of his palace

Raavana went to the top floor of his palace to view the vaanara army.Suka and Saarana followed him.Seeing the vast army,he questioned as to who were the top most warriors in their army.Saarana started explaining.Hey lord!The vaanara who is standing facing Lanka and roaring like a lion is Neeludu.He is their army chief.The vaanara who has his hands up in the air and whipping his tail is Angadudu,prince of vaanara kingdom.He is Vaalis son and equal to his father in valor.He is ready to prove his might for the sake Raama.Brain behind Hanumanthas succesful journey to Lanka and seeing Seetha,is Angadudu only.Vaanara behind Angada,is Naludu.He is the person who built the bridge over the sea and he is great warrior.He is eager to destroy Lanka.White skinned vaanara is Swethudu.Vaanara with colorful tail is Kumududu.Vaanara ,who is brown colored and has long eyes ,is Rambhudu.Vaanara ,with wide ears and roaming here and there and shivering with anger and roaring like a lion,is Sarabhudu.The vaanara with dark skin is Panasudu.vaanara ,who is in the centre of the army,is Vinathudu.Vaanara,who is calling you for war,is Krodhanudu.That pale colored vaanara is Gavayudu.All these are Great warriors,strong and can change their form as they wish,kaamaroopulu.They are ready to give away their lives for Raama.That vaanara,who has multi colored long tail is Harudu,You observe the huge bears which are eager to attack us.The vaanara in the middle of them is Dhoomrudu.The bear who is like a huge mountain is Jaambavanthudu,Brother of Dhoomrudu.In the earlier war between deities and demons,he helped Indra and received many boons from him.His soldiers are dropping big boulders from the hill tops.The one who is hopping with anger is Dambhudu.One who is tall and stout is Sannaadanudu.There is no one in the entire universe who is more huge than Sannaadanudu.He is the son of God Of Fire and he fought with Indra.One who is standing in a place where red sand is blowing is Pramaadhi.Gavaakshudu is the leader of black faced monkeys,kondamuchchu.Sathavali is roaring to start the war.He prays the Sun daily for victory. Hey lord!each and every warrior in the army is a great warrior and is longing to demolish Lanka as soon as possible.

Suka and Saarana tell their experiences to Raavana

suka and Saarana started telling about their experiences,as soon as they reached the city and went to Raavana.Hey lord!as soon as we entered the army in the guise of vaanaraas,Vibheeshana identified us.He caught us.We lost hope about our lives.Because of Raamaas greatness only,we are still alive and standing before you.Raama,Lakshmana,Sugreeva and Vibheeshana,who equal Indras valor,are stationed together.Without the help of the army,they can successfully uplift Lanka and take it away easily.Even they are not necessary.Raama alone can do it.There is no doubt that they havebuilt the bridge.We have seen it with our own eyes.It is ten yojanaas wide and hundred yojanaas long.Entire army crossed the sea by that way only.We can not define the quantum of Vaanara army.Every one is enthusiastic.We can not fight with them and win.It is better to cool down and hand over Seetha to Raama. Raavana chided Saarana and Suka.Saaranaa!even if deities,Gandharvaas and demons come united to fight me,and even if the entire world threatens me I am not going to leave Seetha.You have been thrashed by vaanaraas and being afraid of them,you are talking like angel of peace.Is there anyone who can defeat me in war?

Suka tells about enemys army to Raavana

As soon as Raavana saw Sukudu,he laughed and said,Sukudaa!why are your wings crumpled?Were you captured by the enemy?Sukudu started his reply.Hey lord!Vaanara army was stationed at the northern side of the sea shore and I went to deliver your message to Sugreeva.I completed the task,but in the mean time Vaanaraas caught me and beat me and thrashed me.You can not talk to any one there.There is no scope for either questions or answers.Raama ,who killed Kharudu,Viraadhudu and Kabandhudu,was ther along with Sugreeva.He made it possible to build the bridge across the sea and made vaanaraas cross the sea.Vaanara army is actually filling up the entire globe.Just as there can be no compromise between deities and demons,there can never be truce between vaanaraas and demons.Before vaanara armies reach Lankas outer ring,we have to decide whether we should hand over Seetha to Raama ,or wage a war immediately. With these words Raavana lost his temper and started boasting about his valor.I am not going to release Seetha,even if deiries,Gandharvaas and all others wage war against me.It seems Raama does not realise my power,that is why he is eager to go to war against me.I would smash him and the entire vaanara army.There is no one in all three realms who can face me in war.Though he said these words,Raavana was upset internally.Raavana called Suka and Saarana,his ministers and told them. Suka and Saarana!It seems vaanara armies have crossed the turbulent sea.Raama built a bridge over the sea and did a great job which no one has succeeded till now!I am unable to believe it still.go and see it and tell me if it is really true.Find how they could build the bridge.You identify the important and valiant vaanaraas there.Learn important facts like between Raama and Sugreeva,whose word is more powerful,weapons of Raama and Lakshmana,their strength,their army chief and any other important information.Suka and Saarana took up the form of Vaanaras and mingled with vaanara army as per their kings orders. Vibheeshana easily identified them and took them to Raama.He told him that these were Raavanaas ministers and were in the guise of monkeys.They came to find out war secrets.Suka and Saaarana lost hope about their lives and agreed that they came as secret agents of Raavana.Raama simply smiled at them and enquired if they had really completed assessing their strength.If they still had doubts,they could take the help of Vibheeshana and find out some more important facts about their army.He directed Vibheeshana to release them.He told Suka and Saarana to pass on his message to Raavana.Raavana!you can show of your strength freely,on the basis of which you kidnapped My Seetha.I am going to destroy Lanka,its outer ring,doors and demon army tomorrow.Be prepared! Suka and Saarana were really relieved to learn that Raama was not going to kill them.They praised Raama and left for Raavanaas assembly.

Raama reaches Lanka

Raama,Lakshmana and the vaanara army reached southern shore of the sea.Raama observed good indications.He happily hugged his loving brother and said.Lakshmana!find an appropriate place for all of us to recode and where sufficient fruits and vegetables and water resources are available.We would divide and arrange our army according to appropriate plan and we can be tension free.I strongly feel that great war is going to take place.Many vaanaraas and demons are going to perosh in this war.Earth would be filled entirely by weons,blodd and flesh of vaanaraas and demons.Lakshmanaa!let us start to Lanka immediately.Sree Raama hle his bow and turned towards Lanka and started his journey,along with Lakshmana,being in front of the army.Sugreeva,Vibheeshana accompanied them with their armies.All were walking with muchenthusiasm.They heard the drum beats from Lanka.Vaanaraas made huge noise,Simhanaadam.Sree Raama thought of Seetha and her plight when he saw the city and felt sad. Raama turned towards Lakshmana and spoke thus.Lakshmana!see this city.It is shining with big buildings and paradee grounds and outer rings.It is like white clouds shining in the sky.Gardens here are so beautiful that they are encompassing Kuberaas chaithraratham. Then,Raama tirned towards the vaanara army and addressed them.hey vaanaraas!now we will divide our army and plan war strategies.Angada and Neela would stay at the heart of the entire army.Myself and Lakshmana would stand at the head position of our army.Rushubhudu would stand at southern side.Gandhamaadanudu would protect northern side.Jaambavanthudu,Sushenudu and Vegadarsi would protect At the belly point of the army and Sugreeva would stand up in the back side of the army.Then Raama turned towards Sugreeva and directed Sugreeva to release Sukudu as the war plan was complete.With these words,Sukudu was released and he went to Lanka to meet Raavana.

Bridge constructed over the sea

Raama gave permission to Nala to build the bridge.Vaanaraas brought lakhs and lakhs of logs for bridge construction.They brought great and big boulders.Each boulder was of the size of an elephant. They brought them by machines.They brought hills and drowned them into the sea.To make the bridge smooth and even,they prepared yarn of hundred yojanaas length.Some assorted scales and started measuring the logs.Some were supervising the entire work being done.As per Raamaas instructions,vaanaraas used rocks,mud and wooden logs to make the bridge.First day ,they completed fourteen yojanaas of the bridge,second day twenty eight yojanaas,third day twenty one,fourth day twenty two and fifth day twenty three yojanaas of the bridge.Like this,they completed hundred yojanaas long and ten yojanaas wide bridge with in five days.Bridge made by Nala was glittering like Swathipatham in the sky.To observe this super human task being completed,deities and sages came and observed from the sky.The bridge was looking as if hair is being parted in the centre. While the bridge was being built,crores and crores of vaanaraas reached the other side of the sea.Vibheeshana was alert,along with his four ministers,on the southern side of the sea shore,to ward off the enemies.Sugreeva requested Raama to alight Hanumantha.Angada would carry Lakshmana.They would take these warriors along the sky.Would Sugreeva allow Raama and Lakshmana to cross the sea by walk?Sugreeva,Raama and Lakshmana were in front of the army.Army moved.It crossed the sea and settled at the southern sea shore.Deities and sages came and did abhishekam with pure and sacred waters.They praised and blessed him that he would win over the enemy and rule his kingdom for many,many years to come and be happy.

Samudras advice to Raama

Samudra saluted Raama and spoke to him.Hey Lord Raamachandra!Five elements of nature would behave according to their nature,naturally!My nature is to be deep and drowning.Being shallow is against my nature.I can not make this sea static either by lust,greed or fear.One thing is possible for me.I would show you a place where you can be safe from wild and cruel sea animals,because these waters can not be made static.Raama then asked Samudra,where he could release his arrow.Then Samudra requested hm to release the arrow in northern direction to a place called Drumakulyam.That place also actually belongs to Samudra only.There,some theives would be drinking this sea waters.You direct your arrow at them.Raama released his arrow in that direction and that place became famous as Marukaanthaara.Raama gave that place a boon.That place will be rich and precious and famous and beautiful.Samudra gave Raama another clue.He said that Naludu was Viswakarmaas son.He is as efficient as his father.If Nala constructs a bridge over me,I will bear it.Saying these words Samudra disappeared.Naludu came forward and asserted that he could really build the bridge and he is really as efficient as his father. Fear of being punished is the best method in this world if we want to get our things done.Kindness and reasoning do not work regarding ungrateful people.Samudra made way to Raama because of fear of being punished by the great soul.I could remember this boon given by my father as Samudra mentioned about it.Let us start building the bridge now itself!

Raama gets angry with the Sea God,Samudra

Sree Raama saluted Sea and spread grass,darbhalu,on the ground.He kept his right shoulder as his pillow and faced eastwards and slept.Raamaas right shoulder was adorned with gold ornaments when he was in Ayodhya.Many women molished and beautified it.It was releasing beautiful scents and flavors.His right shoulder always held Seethadevi to his side.It was bathed by waters from River Ganges.It was shining like Thakshakas body.It increases enemys fears.Good people feel happy when they look at his right shoulder.It can release arrows whoch can circumnavigate the entire world.It was like agreat iron rod.It gifted thousands of cows to the needy and the poor.Sree Raama kept such shoulder under his head and thought he would either cross the sea or die there itself.He prayed Sea God appropriately.He did penance for three days.But Sea God did not appear.He got angry and called Lakshmana and said. Lakshmana!Are you seeing the carelessness of Sea?He is still not visible.Good traits like calmness,kindness,righteousness and soft talk do not have any good effect on characterless people.No one in this world respects a sage or saint.They respect those persons who praise themselves,heartless people,cruel people,harsh people who punish others others without any valid reasons and unkind persons.In this world,we can not acquire fame,Glory,victory by righteousness.Now,I can release my arrow and dry up this sea.I can make all the sea animals come outside.I can make the sea turbulant and dry it up completely.As long as I am patient,Sea God is continuing his act of carlessness.This Samudrudu is considering my knidness as incompetence.No one should shower kindness on such people.As long as I am good,Samudrudu would not appear before me.Lakshmanaa!bring my bow and arrows.I would dry up the sea and make vaanaraas walk over land to Lanka.I would unsettle sea and make is troublesome.I will make the sea lose its shore and make it cover the entire earth.Saying so,Raama released arrows like thunderbolts.Those arrows went into the sea and caused heavy turbulance.sea animals which were in the sea bed shivered out of fear.Those arrows reached Paathaalam and hit the demons residing there.Sree Raama again started to release another set of arrows.But Lakshmana warned him not to and held on to his bow.Raamaas anger did not simmer down. He roared at the Sea.hey Samudrudaa!I can dry you up till Paathaalam.Once all the water dries up,all this place would be filled by sand.All vaanaraas would then reach Lanka by walk.It seems you have not realised my strength.Saying so,Raama prayed for Brahmaasthram and was about to release it.Just as the arrow touched the bow,loud sound came as if sky and Earth were about to break sown.Mountains shivered.Rivers and ponds became turbulant.Sun and moon started moving in opposite directions.Entire world became dark.Thunders showered.Sea shrinked and went back one yojana distance.Seeing Sea going back,Raama stopped releasing his arrow.In the mean time,Sea God appeared before Raama.He was adorned with heavy ornamnets and Diamond was glittering on his chest.

Raavan sends Sukudu to Sugreeva

Sugreeva enquired Vibheeshana regarding means to cross the sea.Vibheeshana simply replied that Raama has to request Sea.Samudrudu,Sea,has improved or flourished because of Ikshvaaku dynasty.So,he would definitely help Raama.Sugreeva told this fact to Raama and Lakshmana.RAama also considered this and asked about their opinion.Sugreeva also agreed to Vibheeshanaas suggestion.Without constructing a bridge crossing the sea and reaching Lanka are impossible.Even deities can not do it.So,it would be better to pray Sea God immediately.Sree Raama immediately went near the sea shore and slept on the darbhasayanam. In Lanka,Raavana was in his assembly hall. he was hearing to the words of demon,Saardooludu,who observed Raama and the vaanara army residing on the sea shore and went to him to tell the fact.Saardooludu started telling.Hey Lord!Ruksha vaanara armies are coming towards Lanka.Its army is huge like a sea.Any side you see,it is more than ten yojanaas long and is fearful to see.It is better to send our agents and assess their strength and put into use,our saama,daana,bhedopaayam. Hearing these words,Raavana called his aide,Sukudu and told him.Sukudaa!you go to Sugreeva and tell him as my words.Sugreeva!you are born in a great family.We are like brothers.The thing I did would neither cause you harm nor benefit you.I kidnapped Raamaas wife.Why should you feel sorry for it?Vaanaraas can not enter Lanka.The thing which is unimaginable even to deities and Gandharvaas,can simple vaanaraas get through?Go back to Kishkindha happily! Sukudu took the form of a bird and flew in the sky and reached the place where Sugreevas army was camping.He stood in the sky and repeated Raavanaas words to Sugreeva.Vaanaraas dragged him down and beat him.Sukudu approached Raama and pleaded him.Lord!I am an agent of Ravana.You know that it is not right to kill the agent.These vaanaraas are beating me to death.If an agent does not deliver his kings message correctly but adds his words or alters the message should be punished.But I repeated only what my king had told me to pass it on to Sugreeva. so I am not liable to be killed.It would be wrong on your part if you kill me.hey Lord!stop these vaanaraas from killing me! Raama admonished vaanaraas to stop beating Sukudu.Sukudu immediately flew into sky and enquired Sugreeva as what his reply was. Sugreeva gave his reply.Raavanaa!there was never any friendship between you and me.I have never received any help from in the past.You are an enemy to my friend,Raama.You are a friend to my foe,Vaali.You are to be killed ,like Vaali.Shortly,I am going to kill you and your men and devastate Lanka.Wherever you fo,Raamaas arrow would not leave you.You kidnapped Seetha,when Raama and Lakshmana were not present"So,Raama would definitely kill you. In the mean time,Angada told Sugreeva that Sukudu was not an agent but a spy.He was assessing the army strength.So,he should not be sent to Lanka.Hearing these words,Sugreeva directed vaanaraas to capture him and so Sukudu was in their captivity.

Vibheeshana enthroned by Raama

Raama asked Vibheeshana to tell him about Raavanaas strength and weakness.Vibheeshana started explaining.Lord Raama!Brahma gave Raavana a boon.Because of that boon,Raavana can not be killed by deities.Kumbhakarna is Raavanaas brother.His strength equals that of Indra.Raavanaas army chief is Prahasthudu.In the war against Kubera in Kailaasam,Prahasthudu defeated Kubera and his army chief,Manibhadrudu.Raavanaas son,Indrajith,is a great warrior.He has Avadhya kavacham.When both sides are involved in war,he would satisfy Agnihothra,by doing Homam,and then due to its effect he becomes invisible and kills the enemies.Besides these,Raavana has many warriors like Mahodarudu,Mahaapaarsvudu,Akampanudu,as his army chiefs.Raavana has crores of demons as his army.Raavana has defeated even deities in the past. Hearing these words,Raama to D like this.Vibheeshana!I can assess Raavanaas srength by hearing your words.Do not worry!I would root out Raavana,along with his entire relations and make you the king of Lanka.This is truth.Raavana might dissolve in Rasaathalam,hide in Paathaalam,or go to Brahma ,himself.Still,I would definitely kill him.Without killing Raavana,I would not enter Ayodhya.I am taking oath on my three brothers and telling these words.Vibheeshana saluted Raama and said that he too would help unerringly in killing Raavana.Hr pronised to participate in the war also.Raama hugged Vibheeshana and directed Lakshmana to bring sea water and officially make Vibheeshana king of Lanka. Lakshmana enthroned Vibheeshana before Vaanara warriors.Every one praised Raama.Now,Vibheeshana has no doubts that he would not be acquiring the throne at the end .Now,he would help Rama to his utmost extent.Otherwise,he might not become the king.Actually,Vibheeshana has not approached Raama with his eye on the kingdom.Hanumantha hinted this aspect while explaining his view and Raama also confirmed it.It seems they told like this to make Sugreeva see reason behind their accepting Vibheeshana into their camp. Because,Vibheeshana is a righteous man.He does not have the qualities of a demon.Soorpanakha told this fact to Raama in janasdhaanam.Then things were differnt.By then,even Khara and Dooshana were not killed.No one might have dreamt that one day Raama would come to kill Raavana.Because these are the words told by Soorpanakha,they can be believed.Even Raavana,himself,has acknowledged that Vibheeshana is a righteous and great person.Vibheeshana tried his level best to change Raavanaas mind from the wrong path.But it did not succeed.In addition,Raavana abused him in the assembly and asked him to leave.What can Vibheeshana do,but to leave him.Because ,he was striving to do good,he came directly to Raama without fear.without caring for his life,he came and stood amidst enemies.Then there is nothing wrong if he helps Raama in killing Raavana.He has to!When he joined Raamaas camp,he should definitely help Raama only,not harm him.If you want to help,you should do it whole heartedly.So,he did it willingly.He told Raama as how to kill Indrajith. After Raavanaas death,Vibheeshana is the rightful successor.Neither Raama,nor Sugreeva are interested in demons kingdom.So automatically,Vibheeshana could secure the kingdom.Raama has gifted him willingly.Vibheeshana can not be blamed or found fault with,in this entire episode. Even mentally,Vibheeshana and the vaanaraas became one and he was accepted into their camp happily.
