Sampaathi talks with Vaanaraas

Sampaathi is the brother of Jataayuvu. He was happy that he could eat the vaanaraas one by one and told the same to them.Angada was dejected. Hanuma!it seems that God has sent Yama to us in the form of this eagle.We have not yet fulfilled Raamas duty.We have not heeded Sugreevas directions.On top of those this problem has fallen on us.Do you realise how much Jataayuvu had done to save Seetha from the wile hands of Raavana?All the living beings and animals are doing their might to help Raama in searching Seetha. In the process,they are sacrificing their lives also.We too had come to accomplish that mission only. But alas!we are stranded here. We bore so many difficulties but failed to find Seetha.Jataayuvu fought with Ravana and sacrificed his life. In that way,he had gone to heaven.He was not afraid of Sugreeva. Dasaradha was the one who gave undue boons to Kaikeyi .They have become detrimental to our lives. Sampaathi heard those words of Angada and questioned them in anguish.Vaanaraas!Did my brother die really?i heard that he fought with a demon.How did that happen?It has been long time since I heard his name.My wings got burnt by sun rays. I can not fly and come to you.So ,please bring me down from this mountain and tell me all about my brother.Vaanaraas were of the opinions that Sampathi was planning to kill them by acting helpless. But as they have already decided to end their lives,they did not mind. So,they brought Sampathi from the hill. Angada started telling him ,his story.King of Vaanaraas,Ruksharajudu had two sons named Vali and Sugreeva.Vaali is a valint fighter. He is my father.Sree RAAMA is the son of King Dasaradha. He came to Dandakaaranya to keep up his fathers words.He brought his wife ,Seetha and brother Lakshmana along with him to the woods.Demon,Raavana kidnapped Seetha when Raama and Lakshmana were away from home. Dasaradha and Jataayuvu were childhood friends. Seeing Seetha in that pitiable condition,Jataayuvu fought with Raavana and lost his life.Sree Raama observed last rites to Jataayuvu and sent him to heaven.After that,Raama made friendship with my uncle,Sugreeva and killed my father.He later made Sugreeva king of Vaanaraas, Sugreeva sent us to search for Seetha but failed to find her inspite of our efforts.Roaming in search of Seetha we entered Ruksha bilam.Time span given for us to find Seetha is long lapsed.We are afraid that Sugreeva would punish us .So we want to end our lives here only. Sampathi was very sad to hear the news of his brothers death.

Angada decides to end his life

Angada replied to Hanumantha.Hanumanthaa!Sugreeva does not all the good qualities which you are explaining.He made his brothers wife ,his wife even when Vali was alive.Do you mean to say that he is a righteous man?He closed the only outlet with boulders so that his brother could never come out of the cave.Can you call him an honest man?He benefited from Rama but failed to reciprocate it.Do you mean to say that he is grateful.He is afraid of Lakshmanas wrath.So,he sent his army in search of Seetha. It is not because he gives importance to righteousness. Sugreeva is a sinner.He is ungratefu. He is inconsistent.No one would believe such a man.He would give his kingdom to his son. Why would he give it to me. He would not even let me live.As it is, I did many wrong things.I tried to topple him but failed. He knows about my failed attempts.I can not resist him.I have neither the power nor the strength to control him.After all this, can I come back to Kishkindha and stay alive. Sugreeva is cruel and is sure to kill me.It is better to die here than be killed by him.I would definitely not come to Kishkindha.I am giving all of you permission to go back to Kishkindha.Convey my regards to Rama,Lakshmana and Sugreeva.You console my mother. She would weep for my plight. Saying this Angada spread darbhas and lied on them to do praayopavesam.Other vaanaraas also did the same.They were all sorrowful for the turn of events.They were talking about SreeRaamaas vanavaasa,death of King Dasaradha,killing of demons in their birthplace,usurping of Seetha by a demon,death of Jataayuvu,death of Vaali,Sree Ramas anger,and many other things. Near by,there was a great eagle,Sampaathi and he was hearing all these.

Vaanaraas problem

Vaanaraas were very sad. Time given to them was over.But they could not find out Seetha.They sat on Vindhya mountains.All the trees were blooming.It meant that it was spring.Angada looked at older vaanaraas and started speaking.Time given by our king is over. Every one knows that he is very strict.We are all destined to die in his hands.He would never excuse us.He is very harsh.It is better to die here instead of going there and die in the hands of Sugreeva.I was made the prince by Rama and not by Sugreeva. Remembering precious enmity,he is sure to kill me.Instead of bringing grief to friends and relatives ,it is better to die here peacefully.Other vaanaraas also acknowledged Angadas view.Thaarudu told them a way out. We need neither go there nor die here. We can safely stay in this cave.No one will come here and find us. Then we would be safe from Rama,Sugreeva and even Indra. Hanumantha doubted Angadas intentions. He felt that Angada wanted to form an army against Sugreeva and capture the kingdom. So,he started to talk like this.Angadaa!You are greater than your father.You are efficient to rule the kingdom of vaanaraas. But Vaanaraas are prone to change their ideas frequently.Do not believe that they would leave their wife and children and stay with you here.Whatever you say, myself,Jaambavanthudu,Neeludu,Suhothrudu,and others are not going to come to your side.It is impossible to separate us from Sugreeva.It is better for a weakling not to promote enmity with a stronger person.May be you are under the impression that this Ruksha bilvam is going to protect you. Lakshmana can destroy many such things with his arrows.More over, all these vaanaraas are not going to stay with for longer periods leaving their families.So,one by one,all will leave you. You will be alone and become cheap in their eyes. You would stay out as one who neither did search Seetha nor pay heed to kings words. Then definitely,Lakshmana is going to kill you. But if you come with us and follow Sugreeva,there are chances that you might become king one day.Sugreeva is a good man at heart. He would not harm you.He loves your mother.He would never harm her son.He would treat you as his own son.
