Jabali was one of the official priests of Ayodhya.He started convincing Rama.Hey Rama!you are so intelligent!Why are you talking like a lay man?What is this fathers word?What are you talking of following it?In this world,every one is dependent.No one is any ones relative.No one does rely on anything or has use of anything in this world.Even at the time of birth ,we are coming alone into this world.At the time of death also,we are leaving all alone.Of What use are these relations then? There is no mother,no father!All these things and this talk is useless.One has no relationship with the other person.Mother,father,house,money are just materials.You are related with them as long as they exist.After their loss,you should not maintain any relationship with thwm or with those persons.Once Dasaradha is no more,relationship with him is lost.You are not obliged to fulfil his wishes.He was just mechanical in your birth.Actually, nature is responsible for your birth.After DEATH,dASARADHA WENT WHERE ALL DEAD ONES GO.But you are unnecessarily thinking of relationship which no more exists and are worrying.

Think of these last rites.What a wastage of food?Does a dead man eat?If what one eats ,is given to others,then if anyone goes to distant places,then you can conduct sraaddha karmas.Then ,he would not feel hungry.There is no unnecessary expenses for food and existance.But in reality, it is not happening so.

Some intelligent people have suggested innocent people to perform yaagas,give thrift and help people monetarily.They wrote in books for their benefit only.There is no meaning in those words.You have to live in the present ,not in the past or what is gone by.

You accept what is present and practical.Refuse or delete what is indirect or impractical.So ,please pay heed to my words.Go to Ayodhya,get enthroned and rule your country.

Rama was aghast hearing Jabalis words.He was detesting him for speaking so.Why are you speaking so harshly?Will anyone respect a person who does not follow any principles and is righteous?History will tell a persons dynasty,capacity,good and bad and other factors like righteousness and bravery.

I am wearing pious dress of a sage.And if I do such acts what you are inferring.would not people laugh behind my back?If I dont have any principles and I dont walk the path of justice ,would any one heed my advise?Then they would behave as per theri whims and fancies.Yadhaa raaja,thadhaa praja.

They would also behave in a wrong and unjust way.People would be afraid of men who speak lies as if they have seen a snake.

Truthfulness is the just rule.Truthfulness is the only way to heaven.Truthfulness is GOD.lAKSHMI ALWAYS STAYS WHERE TRUTH LIES.eVERY THING IN THIS WORLD IS DEPENDENT ON TRUTH ONLY.There is nothing more powerful in this world other than SATHYAM.

I have to fulfill my fathers words as he lived a truthful life.I dont mind following Kshathriya dharmam.Idont care for it.

Jaabaali,you talked tactfully ,but they are not just and correct words.The oath,which I had taken with my father was that I would leave the country and stay in woods.I would not trespass it and act as per Bharathas wishes.I can assess for myself what is right for me.I would definitely observe Vanavaasa completely.

My father did take a wrong decision by making you the asthana purohith.

Jaabaali was afraid on hearing Ramas words.He pleaded with him that he was god fearing.He talked like that because he too wanted Rama to come back to Ayodhya and rule the country.Vasishta also confirmed that Jaabaali was really god fearing .But he talked in such a fashion only to influence Rama to return to Ayodhya.

Vasishta told Rama hierarchy in his ikshwaku dynasty.

Hey Rama,Vaivaswatha manuvu gave this Earth to Ikshwaku.

Vasishta was The official purohith of Ikshwaku vamsa from many generations.He was waiting for Ramavatharam and he too was interested in taking Rama to Ayodhya .So he is telling Rama about the leniage in their dynasty.

Hey rama,this kingdom came to the hands of Dasaradha in this hierarchy.Dasaradha has the eldest son by name Rama.You are that eldest son of Dasaradha.In ikshwaku dynasty,eldest son becoming the ruler is the law and respect.Leaving THe eldest aside and enthroning the younger brother is wrong and there is no such rule and regulation.

So ,observe the kula maryada and accept the kingdom.Rama ,man has three teachers.They are father ,mother and teacher.Teacher is the one who imparts knowledge to his pupil.I am your teacher.So hear my words.As a son,it is your duty to fulfill your mothers wish.She wants you to become the king Ayodhya.Even the civilians of Ayodhya want you to be their king.Dont put aside their requests.It is not right to do vanavasa without serving your mother.You fulfill the wishes of beggars.Bharatha is begging you.Please fulfill his wishes.Please accept his prayers.All of us want you to be our king.Fulfill our wish.By accepting our request,you would not be doing anything wrong.

BHARATHAS REQUEST TO RAMA-CONTD

Bharatha is pleading Rama like this.Rama,think straight.Assess for yourself the act of our father,whether it is right or wrong.Correct the wrong done by our father in a fit of emotional turbulance of lust.One corrects the wrong acts of his father is his correct son.Save every one who are all dependent on you like me,Kaikeyi,our father,your friends and relatives,people of our country and all others.

Where does lie the compatabilty between vanavasa and ruling the country?Rama ,you are telling that we have to follow righteousness.OK.It is the primary duty of a king to get enthroned properly and rule his people.Then why are leaving what is just for you and going in another direction which does not fit you and is not appropriate for you.If you want justice to be propagated,then rule the country in a just manner so that all sects of people are looked after well and are not ignored.Here he is asking his brother to encompass all the four varnas of people.That act is more difficult.

Of all the aasramas,gruhasthaasramam is the best and the greatest.Then why are you leaving that and wandering in the woods?

Do you think it is right for me to rule the country when elder brother is there?Million dollar question is ,am I capable person to rule the country?First of all,I dont even like to lea my life in your aBSENCE.So,you rule the country.Observe swadharma.Our Teacher,Vasishta is present here.Well read Brahmins are also present.People of ayodhya are also here.Everything needed for doing pattaabhishekam are present.Get enthroned here itself and come to Ayodhya and rule your country.

Please see that our father is relieved of the sin he did by hearing my mothers vicious words.I am begging you to accept my request.Please show kindness to me and our people.If you reject my request and confirm to stay in the woods,then I too would stay with you.

Rama simply heard what all Bharatha had said.There was no change in his attituse.People praised his coolness and and his rightful mind.But they felt sorry that he would not return to Ayodhya with them.They praised Bharatha and his way of pleading his brother and they too requested Rama to accept their plea.

Rama started replying Bharatha.You have spoken well.But hear me say some thing.At the time your mothers marriage to our father ,Dasaradha told something to Kaikeyis father.By the time of marriage itself,Dasaradha was aged ,so gave word that Kaikeyis son would become the king of Ayodhya.

Added to that ,he gave two boons to Kaikeyi.So,being their father,both Rama and Bharatha sould strive to make his fathers words true.Otherwise ,it would be such that he could not stand on his words.Unless ,they see that their father is relieved of Punnanama narakam,they cant boast to be his sons in the proper sense.

So,you go to Ayodhya happily and rule the country.I,in my turn would lead life in the forest dandakaranya happily.Become king to your people,.I would become king to forest animals.Get shade from the umbrellas that your personnel hold,.Trees would give shade to me.Sathrughna would be your help.I would take Lakshmans help.

If we behave like this,we can make our father,sathyavak paripalakudu.Oh brother!come out of your sorrow!

BHARATHAS REQUEST TO RAMA

Bharatha sat beside Rama obediently.People were eager to hear what Bharatha would be talking to Rama.Night passed away calmly and day came.all were sitting around after freshening up.Bharatha said that Rama obliged his mothers request and gave the kingdom to Bharatha.Now he is again giving it back to Rama.He is pleading him to accept it.No one can rule the country as efficiently as Rama does.Entire base work done by their father would go to dogs ,if he does not accept the kingdom.People of Ayodhya are eager to see and cherish the enthronement of Rama.

Rama started preaching Bharatha.Let me tell you one truth.Man is never free.We behave as per the directions of the all pervading god.Birth is

followed by death.Past never comes back.Whatever you do your lifespan will be deteriorating.So you have to think of yourself,but not of others.Once a man becomes aged ,he cant do anything worthwhile.

In this world,people enjoy sunrise and sunset.But they fail to think of the time that is lost or gone by.One day passes means one day in your lifespan is lessening.

They dont realise this stark reality but enjoy the seasons that are coming one after another.

In sea,two logs get carried away by waters and slide together for certain time and again get drifted to different places.Similarly,wife and children stay with us for some time and then leave us and go in another direction.Like wise ,riches also stay with us for a certain period only.But all these things are not permanent.

Water flows in one direction only .Its course can not be reversed,Similarly age grows but never lessens.So, we have to do acts which bring peace and contentment to aathma.Such people only who go the path of justice and righteousness only become great.

We need not feel sorry for others death.Dasaradha lived a long life and did many yagnas during his time.He went to Swarga. S o,Bharatha leave your sorrow now.Accept our fathers command and demand.Go back to Ayodhya.I too would follow our fathers command and do aranyavaasam successfully.

Bharatha started replying Rama.Rama was a great soul.He would not feel sorry even when difficulties surround him.He is not happy when good things happen and you enjoy your life.You have won the battle over happiness and sorrow.No one like is living on this earth.There is nothing that is unknown yo you.

It is not right for such charactered man to suffer.I will not accept the verdict which was given when I was out of the country. He will not accept his mothers vicious deeds during his absence in his name and for his sake.Have pity on me.Because I am a righteous man ,I am unable to kill my mother.I was born to Dasaradha.he was an aged man who did Yagnaas and yaagaas,he passed away.So I cant talk chep of him in Raaja sabha.

But can a man who knows what is right do such ghastly acts hearing womans words?If the is bad ,we dont think strait and correctly.May be that happened to Dasaradha.They call it--VINAASAKAALE VIPAREETHA BUDDHIH..

KOUSALYA AND OTHERS VISIT RAMA

Hearing the crying and wailing of Rama and others .all others started running towards the hut.People of Ayodhya were feeling as if they had seen Rama very long back ,though in reality only few days had elapsed.They were running very fast.Due to that animals,birds were afraid were going hither and thither in fright.

They started blaming Kaikeyi and Mandhara before Rama.Rama consoled them appropriately.Vasishta was bringing Kousalya and other women.They came upto Mandakini river.Kousalya was showing Sumithra that from this bank only Lakshmana might have been taking water for them.They would have taking bath at this bank only.While talikng so,Kousalya observed Pindam kept on darbhas which Rama and Lakshmana did as last rites to their father.

She wept thinking Rama was so helpless he could not give more than ganugapindi as pindapradaanam.Weeping like that they came to Ramas abode.Rama fell on their feet with reverence.Kousalya lifted him up and dusted the dirt on his body.Lakshmana alsoprayed his mothers.Seetha also conveyed her respect by doing namaskarams.Kousalya could not control herself.She hugged Seetha and wept.Though She was the daughter of Janaka maharaju,Daughter in law of Dasaradha maharaju,and wife of Sreerama ,she had to lead a lonely and pathetic life in the woods.

SREE rama did namaskaram to Vasishtas feet.Everyone sat down.

RAMA AND LAKSHMANA OBSERVE LAST RITES TO dASARADHA

Rama fainted here About Dasaradhas demise.Bharatha.Lakshmana,Seetha and Sathrughna helped him revive.Rama was weeping and saying to Bharatha so.He was wondering at the play of fate.What a difficult situation were they now facing?He could not even do Last rites to his father.There was no such a cursed person in the entire world as he.Bharatha and Sathrughna were blessed ,because they could attend to their fathers last rites.He would not enter Ayodhya where Dasaradha was not there. Even after fourteen years of Vanavasa also,he would not return to Ayodhya.

He then directed Lakshamana to bring flour to be able to do udaka danam.Seetha,Lakshamana,and Rama went to Mandaakinee river and did jalatharpanam.Then they did sapindeekaranam.They mixed flour with Regupandlu and called his father and pleaded him to accept that as pinda pradanam ,because that was their staple food in the forest.They all returned after performing jala tharpanam. After returning ,he hugged all his three brothers.All wept in abig voice. Their crying so hard could be heard by people nearby .They could understand that because of their fathers loss, they were crying.

BHARATHA COMES TO RAMAS ABODE

Bharatha kept his army at a distance.He called Sathrughna and told him so.hE TOLD HIM to search with help of local hunters.Similarly Guha would also search with his followers.Bharatha,Vasishta and his ministers would search by walk.He cant rest peacefully until he sees Rama,Seetha and Lakshmana.Hecant be peaceful till he bows before Ramas feet,hands over the kingdom to Rama.He is jealous of the happiness Seetha and Lakshmana are deriving by being with Rama constantly.Even Chithrakatam is also blessed because Rama is staying near that mountain.

Bharatha started Searching and in the distance he saw smoke coming up.He suspected that might be the place of Ramas abode and started walking fast.He told Vasishta and other ministers to come slowly.Sathrughna and Sumanthrudu accompanied Bharatha.They walked some distance and could identify Ramas place.On the way.Cotton sarees and dry grass were tied to identify the path easily.

He came to the conclusion that they had reached the place described by Bharadwaja maharshi.Mandakini river might also be present near by.Lakhmana might have tied the cotton sarees as marking if at all he had to come to the river during night time.He came near Mandakini.

Bharatha again felt bad.He felt he was the cause of hardships of Rama.Rama left all the wealth and cam e to observe vanavaasa.He would fall at the feet of Rama,Seetha and Lakshmana and seek their blessings.He would make them come to Ayodhya.He could see the thatched hut.In it on dry grass ,Rama was sitting.Seetha andLakshmana were sitting nearby.

bharatha ran and fell on Ramas feet weeping.He strongly felt his life was useless seeing them in such pathetic condition.His eyes were filled with tears and fell down.He could merely ARYAA,His brother.

Bharatha was also wearing Jatas like Rama and Lakshmana.He was weak and depressed.For a moment ,Rama could not identify his brother.Later he lifted him and made him sit in his lap.

Rama started asking him questions.First of all,why did they come to the forest.He should not come to the forest while their father was alive.Was their father alright?Or did he pass away with

depression and dejection?Or did Bharatha lose his kingdom,becoming weak?

Was his rule fine?Were their mothers happy?How is he conducting himself with the purohiths?

How were his ministers? were they ferocious,intelligent,educated,of good birth and vamsa?

Because if ministers were not efficient ,King has to pay a very big price?

He had to do small things which give large benefits.He should never seek secrets.One efficient man is equal to thousands of fools.So is he keeping fools aloof.He had to entrust big duties to efficient people,and small duties to ordinary people.He had to employ persons as per their efficiencies.Regarding employing Ministers ,did he put them to test,properly enquire their family background?

Are his ministers impartial and questioning his right when he is giving heavy punishments to petty mistakes.Are they daring in putting him right/Was he collecting more taxes unnecessarily from public?Are you punishing your enemies and rajadrohulu properly with iron hand?Was his army chief efficient?Was he delaying in giving salaries to his personnel and all other employees?

Because if salaries are not paid in time ,many problems would rise in the country?Was he employing efficient people as doothalu and chaarulu is aides and persons for detection?

He should not serve brahmins who are nasthikas ie who dont believe in god.Was he ruling Ayodhyaproperly?Are your people happy and secure?Are Farmers,workers and gosamrakshakas happy in his kingdom and goodwilled?Was he safeguarding Business peoples interests?Because peoples happiness entirely lies in vanijyam ie large scale business.

are you telling all your secrets to ladies?Are you safe guarding Nagavanam?Are you daily addressing the public?Is your weapon strength adequate?Are you alert in maintaining your finance?In your kingdom,are your officers taking bribes and doing injustice to the public?

Are they impartial to the fact that persons are rich or poor ,and giving just judgement?Because if the kings wrong judgement without assessing properly and the guilty are left,it is not good.If innocent people are punished, their curse and crying would destroy all of kings children,poultry,and the entire wealth.Are you preying in all the times?Did you relieve your self of fourteen rajadoshams?Are you following proper politicS?Is he following the path paved by their predecessors in ruling the country and in maintaining himself?If the king is intelligent and observing the character of his people and see that they are following the right path ,he would benifit in both lokas.

sEEMING TO ASK his welfare ,Rama has taught Bharatha nice diplomacy and apt politics.

Asking these questions ,Rama has asked Bharatha why he has grown jatas and wearing Naara cheeralu.What was the reason behind Bharatha leaving the kingdom and coming to the forest in naaracheeralu?

Bharatha is replying that the the King Dasaradha could not bear the loss of his beloved son ,Rama and sending him to forest .So he died with this depression.His mother could neither get the kingdom nor her husband alive.Rama ,I am your servant.Show kindness to me and become the king of Ayodhya.People of Ayodhya are wishing for his enthronement.Our mothers who had become widows are also willing for that to happen.You accept our plea and make us happy.Saying so ,Bharatha fell on Ramas feet and prayed him.

Rama sighed and lifted Bharatha.He said he knew that there was no fault of Bharatha.He told him not to blame his mother also unnecessarily.Dasaradha was their father.They had to obey his orders. He has full powers either to give the kingdom to Rama or send him to the forest.Dasaradha told before entire public that Rama should go to the woods and Bharatha be made the king.Both had to fulfil his desires.So,Bharatha had to rule the kingdom and Rama had to stay in the woods.It is only just.

Bharatha was pleading that when he is deprived of serving Ramas feet,What use he has with the kingdom?It is always justified that only the eldest should be enthroned.Even in their dynasty ,never before did the youngest come to rule.So,Rama had to come to Ayodhya with Bharatha and become the king

Now ,they had to do last rites to their father.Bharatha and Sathrughna had already performed in Ayodhya.Now ,Rama and Lakshamana had to performJalatharpanama for their deceased father..

Lakshmana observes bharathas army

Seetha and Rama returned to their abode.Bharathas army was making huge noise and Rama could hear it.He enquired with Lakshmana what that noise and disturbance would be. Lakshama went up a saala tree and observed in all the four directions.On northern side he could see a big army approaching them.Lakshmana started giving directions to Rama to suppress the fire.He also told him To take Seetha into the cave.He directed him to adorn his bow and arrows and be ready for a fight. Rama asked him whose army it might be.

Lakshmana was very angry.He told Rama that it Was Bharaths army.He could perceive by the flag on his chariot.There was kovidaara dhwajam on the flag and by that sign Lakshmana could come to the conclusion that it was Bharatha only.He had alighted the throne and came here to kill Rama and others.We should be ready to fight him.He alone is resonsible for all their troubles.There is nothing wrong in putting an to Bharathas life.He would kill Bharatha and return the kingdom to Rama .He would kill the entire army and also Kaikeyi.

Rama started consoling Lakshmana.Bharatha is coming in person.So where is the necessithy for war and arms?They had come to fulfil their fathers wish.There is no meaning in killing Bharatha and retrieving the kingdom.First of all what use do I have with the kingdom?But for you,why do I need it?I dont want even Indras post by wrong means.If we think coolly ,WE can percieve that he might of heard of our difficulties and was coming to see them in person.Bharatha might have scolded his mother for her rash act and might have come to give back the kingdom to Rama.He would never even dream of harming us.Why are you doubting his integrity?Did he plan any harm in thepast?Never talk ill fo BHarath.If you talk like .it is as if you are abusing me.

He started to apcify Lakshmana thus.Does anyone kill their kith and kin if difficulties arise?If you are interested in the throne ,if I say once to Bharatha of your interest,he would immediately give it to you.For such a simple act is all this hungaama and drama required?

Lakshmana felt ashamed hearing Ramas reply.To divert Rama sdirection ,he started talking thus.There is a poosibilty thata their father might be coming to see them.

Rama observed Lakshmanas plight and answered simply that it was also a possibility.He might be coming to take them back to Ayodhya.Dasaradhas elephant,Sathrunjayam was walking in front of the army.But their fathers FLAG ,SWATHACCHATHRAM WAS NOT VISIBLE.So tehre is doubt regarding his arrival.So he directe dLakshmana to come down the tree he has alighted all along.Lakshmana came down some how.

SEETHA&RAMA AT CHITRAKOOTA

IT HAD BEEN A month since Rama and Seetha started residing at Chitrakoota.They were happy.They spent their time with happy dialogues.Rama was showing Seetha the hills and mountains.How beautiful they were!Seeing them, he was not feeling bitter that he had lost his kingdom. and left his friends at Ayodhya.He was telling her to enjoy the scenery.Some mountains are glowing like silver!Some other mountains are reddish in hue.Some are looking golden bright in sunlight.Some are glowing like Indraneelas,some others like pushyaraagaas,others like mogalirekulu,and someothers are bright like stars.

He is telling her his heart was lost to its beauty.Did you see that tree ?All types of trees and flowers could be seen there.Rivulets were flowing making beautiful humming noise.air is filled with beautiful scents of various flowers.Even if I stay many years wlth you and LaKSHMANA ,I would never feel sorry.This vanavaas achieved two goals.One was that he could fulfil his fathers wish.Second was that he could make Bharatha happy.Rama was enquiring if Seetha was also happy like him.His elders applauded that vanavas was like in heaven.One could find colored stones in all shades like blue,yellow,white,red and many other colors.

Rama as still telling Seetha that this place was famous for aushadhas which shine during night times.Someplaces resemble houses,some other places resemble gardens.There is shortage of fruits and sprouts.This place was better than ALAKAAPURI ANDSOWGANDHIKA SARASSU(KUBERUNI SARASSU), AND NORTHERN KURUDESAMULU.

They could stay their entire period of fourteen years here only happily.Seetha and Rama came down fron the mountain and walked towards river Mandakini.

He was showing her the river.Swans and lotus flowers are bewitching.Deers come here to quench their thirst.He likes this river very much.Trees which are on the banks of the river are dropping their flowers and leaves in to the river. At some places waters are looking as if there were collections of Muthyaalu.Let us play water games here.

Seetha,hear my words attentively!Conside the wild animals of the forest as people of Ayodhya.Consider Chithrakoota parvatham as Ayodhya. Consider Mandaakini as Sarayi river.

Both you and Lakshmana are congenial towards me.Taking bath thrice a day ,having sweet fruits and sprouts ,he was enjoing life very much.Living such life with Seetha,his mind is not dragging him towards Ayodhya or the kingdom.Walikng like that they sat on a flat place on the hillock.He was feeding Seetha talking to her gently and lovingly.During that time,they could hear the noice of bharathas army approaching them.Elephants and other wild animals were running here and there in anxiety.

Rama was reassessing himself that he was in favor of living in the woods than in ayodhya just before Bharathas arrival there.He wants to reascertain Seethas acceptance of the situation.

BHARATHA LEAVES FOR CHITHRA KOOTA

Bharatha leaves for chithrakoota next morning after paying homage to Bharadwaaja.He was happy that previous night had passed happily.He wanted to take leave of him.He would behappy if Bharadwwaja told him the correct way .

Bharadwaaja replied that if bharatha walked 2 1/2 amadas in the forest he would come across chithrakoota parvatham.Mandaakini river flows on its eastern side.Parnasaala of Rama and lakshmana is there.His army should walk to the southern side or nairuthi side.

Kousalya,Sumithra and kaikeyi had sought blessings of Bharadwaaja.Bharadwaaja directed Bharatha to introduce his mothers.The woman who is weak and dull without food WAS KOUSALYA.She is the queen of Dasaradha.She is the mother of teh great soul Rama.Sage who is holding her hand was Sumithra.She is the mother of Lakshamana and Sathrughna.

Person who is the centre piece of all this havoc is Kaikeyi.She is my mother.

Bharadwaaja consoled Bharatha not to think ill of her mother for her deeds.Due to this act of her,in future good will come out of it.This deed would bring out good for sages,deities and all the lokas.

Bbharath a prayed Bharadwaaja and took his blessings.Every one was happy.All the animals like elephants,bearsand deers were afraid of the army of Bharatha.They were all running hither and thither.He had huge army.

After going for sometime Bharatha was talking to Vasishta.This might be tha place Bharadwaaja informed.It is so pleasant.See the flowers on the trees.They are resembling certain hair style of southern countries.He turned towards Sathrughna and talked to him.Brother!did you see!Our horses are running fast with pleasure because they are going to Rama within short time.This might be the place where sages live.This is all so pleasant.It is like heaven.
