Bharatha lashes out

Bharatha was saying so. He was sorry for the loss of his father and brother. Who wants kingdom now?Her acts were irritating and heinous.She came as a darknight into their family to destroy them.Dasaratha could not realise that she was fire and hugged her and lost his life.You are the killer of my father!You sent my brother to forest!

Rama loved and respected her very much. He was serving her more than his actual mother.Kousalya treated her as if she were her real sister.How could you be happy sending her son to the forest? What a wasteful act did you do?You could not asses my reverence towards my brother and caused this calamity!Can I do justice to ruling this country after losing my brothers?Can a calf bear the weight of this magnanimity that should be borne by an ox.?Even if he had that strength he would not do it and he would not allow his mother in succeeding in this plot.

This moment I am not accepting you. But Rama respects and loves you so much,and he would be angry if I did so.So I am retrieving my words.

Kaikeyis explanation

Kaikeyi said that Dasaradha lamented for Rama, Lakshmana and Seetha.Dasaratha said that who see Rama after his return from woods are lucky.Bharatha could not grasp the meaning of these words.Then he enquired her regarding where they went.Assuming that Bharatha would be happy for her acts, Kaikeyi started replying thus.

Rama, Lakshmana and Seetha went to Dandakaaranya forest wearing nAARA CHEERELU.For one moment Bharatha was afraid what crime his brother might have done to be exiled into the forests.He started asking his mother what crime Rama had done .Did Rama do any act which should not be done?Did he steal property of a Brahmin.?Did he punish the innocent and the righteous persons?Did he fall for another lady?What was the real reason for his exile to the forest?

Kaikeyi reolied that Rama did not do any of these acts.Idid all this for your sake.I was against Dasaradhas wish to make Rama the king.She asked the king for two boons which he promised earlier. One was to make Bharatha the king.Next one was to make Rama leave the country and live in FORESTS FOR THIRTEEN years.But Seetha and Lakshmana accompanied him.

Now Bharatha was theking and he can rule the entire world and the earth.This was not the tome for anger or grievance. He should first do last rites for his fathers dead body and then become the king of Ayodhya soon.

Bharatha could not withstand hearing these harsh wordsfrom his mother.

Bharatha meets Kaikeyi

Kaikeyi was sitting on the golden couch.She was happy seeing her son.She started inquiring about her parents, brother and bharathas welfare. Bharatha replied that everything was fine at his maternal uncles house. He came here to see and talk to his father. He enquired why his father was not there.

Greedy Kaikeyi lost her propriety. She assumed that Bharatha would be happy hearing her heinous act.So, she started speaking thus.Every living being borne in this world has to expire. Similarly his father also passed away and might have reached heaven.Bharatha fainted hearing this news. He covered his face with towel and wept.

Kaikeyi lifted him from ground and consoled him. THEN bharatha replied that he was under the impression that Rama was going to be made the king ,so he was called for. He was happy coming over to this place.He could not anticipate this danger.

He enquired her about the cause of his fathers death. What ailment he had. Rama and Lakshmana were lucky to have completed the rites to their deceased father. His father would have been happy seeing him. So from now on wards Rama is his fatehr, brother,Realtion and everything to him. HE IS HIS destination.He is Rams servant . He wanted to touch his brothers feet in reverence. He is asking for someone to tell about his arrival to Rama.

He enquired what his father said before his demise.

Bharatha reaches ayodhya

Bharatha was tense because of so many facors. He could not understand ehy the ministers made him come to Ayodhya in haste. Added to that he got frightening dreams the previous night.They travelled seven days and nights continuously and he could see Ayodhya from distance.City had a bleak look. It appeared as though it was not inhabited for along time. There was pindrop and melancholy silence all over.No one was to be seen and Bharatha felt as if he were in a jungle.

As before no one was moving in the roadsbe chariots, there were no women and men enjoting in the gardens,Even trees shed their leaves in melancholy.Bharatha became more depressed seeing all this plight.He entered the city through a door named Vaijayanthi.

Bharata started asking the chariot driver as to the real reason behind all these developments. He himself is saying that unless a great calamity like the death of a king happens the city would not in such a pathetic state.People were seen weeping by him.Being disturbed thus ,he went to his fathers palace. He could not find his father there.Then he went to his mother.

Bharathas bad dream

That night Bharatha gets a very bad dream. He was depressed. Friends were trying to make him happy.He dreamt that Dasaratha wore torn and dirty clothes. Heuntied his hair and was weeping. He fell in to a pit full of dung.He was drinking oil, laughing in agrotesque manner, eating food of gingelly seeds.SEAS have shrunken,moon fell on earth and trees have become dry.Bharatha was afraid that something bad has occured either to theking or Rama.

Ministers from Ayodhya came and told him that he had to start back quickly as there was urgent business.Bharatha enquired about all the family members and they replied in affirmative.

Bharatha tookleave of his maternaluncle and left for Ayodhya. THey gave many presents and gifts which were carried slowly behind as Bharatha wanted to reach Ayodhya quickly.

Vasishtas directions

Ministers, Brahmins ans Vasishta adjourn emergency meeting and discuss about pros and cons after Dasaradhas demise.Ministers request Vasishta to direct them properly in this grave situation. They start explaining to him of the problems. KIng is like eyes to the public. Without a king , kingdom will go to dogs. Safety and security to the people and property would be missing. Peopleare orphaned. Dasaratha when alive was respecting Vasishtas advise. So,now also ministers and the people would respect his advise.They are requesting him to appoint a proper eligible and efficient person as a king to them so that people could lead a peaceful life.

Vaishta advises them to call for Bharatha who was residing at his maternal uncles house.Ministers Siddhharthudu,vijayudu,jayanthud,Asokudu,Nandanudu start for their journey next morning. Vasishta strictly tells them not to reveal any of the recent bitter happenings like Ramas vana vaas. Dasarathas demise etc.They only have totell that he had been recalled for an urgent business. They were to take gifts to his maternal uncles family.

Ministers along with helpersStart their journey.They cross River Ganges near Hasthinaapura andPaanchaaladesam via Kurajaangala desam.They journey westwards and cross Saradandaa river. There they goround pious SAttyopayaachana tree and reach Kalinga pattanam.From ther e they crossed Ikshumathi river and tarvel in between Baahlika desamand Sudaamana mountains and atlast reach Kesaya kingdoms capital Girivrajam by night.

dasaradha passes away

Dasaradha told the story of munikumara to Kowsalya.He started to repent his act in the past. He was sure that was happening now was the result of his past deeds.He was depressed and had no zeal to live. He was telling KOwsalya that he was unable to see anything and requesting her to touch him.He could not cometo terms with the fact that he had to live in Ayodhya without seeing Rama.He felt strongly that his life without Rama was useless .He was praising those people who would see Rama after his return from the woods after thirteen years.THey were like gods in his view.His senses were deteriorating and he was like a lamp without oil in it about to suffise its light.

Crying out pathetically HEY RAMA!KOWSALYA!SUMITHRA!ENEMY KAIKEYI!,he lost hislife.

Morning came but he would not wake up.Servant maids tried to wake him up but to no avail. THey wept and Kowsalya ,Sumithra woke up and came to see. Kaikeyi also came.Kowsalya started abusing Kaikeyi that as KING was also dead she could happily rule the country.Servant maids took her away from there.As per Vasishtas instructions, Dasaradhas body was kept in oil bath to keep away fromdecomposition.

All the women started to abuse KAIKEYI THAT WHO COULD reject her husband and son like Rama could do anything drastic in future.

Muni kumaras reply

As soon as Dasaratha went near him, muni kumara got angry and started to say thes words. His parents were thirsty he had come to take water to them.They were also blind.He told Dasaratha to go and tell them the facts. Otherwise they would get angry and destroy him.The boy was unable to bear the pain and requested that the arrow be removed from his body.

Dasartha was dumbstruck. If he removed the arrow ,the boy would die. if NOT HE COULD NOT BEAR the paain.Thren the boy said that Dasatha would not face BRAHMA HAYAA PATHAKAM as he was born to vaisya and sudra woman.Then Dasaratha removed the arrow and the boy died. Then he took water in the pitcher and went to their abode.Sage heard foot steps and enquired as to why he was late,thinking that he was their son.Dasaratha prayed them and told about the latest incedents and asked their forgiveness as it was done unintentionally.They forgave him. Then Dasaratha took them to the place where their sons body was lying.They wept there and performed the last rites. Then THey said that as he killed their only son, he too would experience similarly by losing his son and die pining for his son.
