Ramas desperation about Seetha

Rama is telling Lakshmana in a heart wrenching way .Lakshmana!Seetha is not answering me inspite of my repeated requests,What had happened to her?All the wild animals are weeping silently and telling me that demons have killed and eaten Seetha.Kaikeyis wish has fulfilled now.I came to the woods with Seetha along with me. How can I go back to Ayodhya without her?Seeing me without Seetha,every one would accuse me to be an yellow creature without any valor and a heartless man.After completing my term in the woods and going back,what reply can I give Janaka,Seethas father? I will not come to Ayodhya. You go alone.Leave me here.Go and Hug Bharatha and tell him these words.Rama has given you permission. You can happily rule the land.Convey my reagrds to our mothers.Tell Bharatha to look after my mother well.Explain the difficulties faced by me and Seetha to Kousalya.There is no sinner worse than me in this world.may be I committed many sins in my previous birth.That is the reason why difficulties are gruelling me one after another.I lost my kingdom.I am away from my people.My father is no more.I am away frommy mother.on top of all those things,now I do not even have SEEtha.Whatever problems I faced till now,I was happy that Seetha was by my side and I consoled my self.Now I have nothing to fall back on. When some demon catured SEetha and took her in the sky,how she might have wept for help.?She would have been facing facing many problems in his captivity. Lakshmana!Seetha was talking to me and laughing with me while sitting on this hillock.Her talk was divine at that time.River Godavari is dear to Seetha. Did she go there?I ambecoming mental with frustration! Whwen did she go alone without me to any place?Did she go to the pond to collect Lotus flowers? It is not right. Till now ,she never went alone to collect flowres. then ,why would she go now all alone?She would never go anywhere alone without me. O Sun God! Ravi! you observe everything.Nothing happens without your knowledge on this earth.Please tell me what happened to my SEetha.O god Of Air! vaayudeva! you know every thing. at least you tell my Seethas where abouts.

Lakshmana tries to console Rama,but in vain

Lakshmana started to make Rama see reason.He is trying to console him.Rama!how long are you going to weep like that?Do not feel sad.We will search for Seetha afresh.May be she is wandering in the woods.May be she had gone to the pond where lotus flowers are there. May be she had gone to bathe in the river.May be just for fun,she might have hid some where.Let us try and search the entire forest.Do not grieve her absence. Both of them started searching for her.They searched the woods,hills and mountains,rivers,ponds,caves,and all other places. they could not find her any where.Rama got dejected and told his brother that she was not any where.There is no use searching for her still.Lakshmana was consoling his brother. No brother. She would be some where here. Let us search for some more time.Definitely ,we would find her. Do not be sad. Rama questioned his brother. we searched all over. We could not find her. Then ,where would she be?Rama fainted with fatigue,tension and sorrow. He was static and crumbled on to the ground.Remembering Seetha,he started weeping afresh.Lakshmana was trying to make him see the reason and reality. It was as if Rama had gone into trance.He was talking with Seetha,who was not there.Seetha!you like flowers very much.You have covered yourself with branches of asoka tree and increasing my soka ie sorrow.Seetha!I am able to see your long legs.You can not disguise them from my sight.You are laughing at me and straying in the woods.Stop this silly game.I am tired very much.I know that you want to be light hearted. but In the woods,you should not be like that.This is not the time for playing pranks with me.Seetha!see!our abode is desolate.Hiding yourself in woods is not a nice gesture.Please come out into open and before me.

Rama and Lakshmana search for Seetha

Rama was turbulent. He was suffering from hallucinations. he was talking nonsense like this.Seetha!why are you running away from me?Even if you are standing behind the trees,I am able to see you.Why do you not talk to me?Seetha!please halt there.You are not having any concern about me.You are not a jovial person. Then why are you behaving like this? See!I can see your yellow saree.Do not run away from me.If you really have love and affection towards me,please stay there.May be Seetha is not there.If she was there,she would not make me repent this long.Some demon would have captured her in my absence and cut her into pieces and eaten. He turns towards Lakshmana and enquires about Seethas where abouts.Again he cries,Seetha! where did you go? Rama was weeping and searched her from one forest to another.one hill to another and near rivers. he could not stay calm and composed.He could not find her any where. He again returned back to his abode. He started telling Lakshmana in this manner.Lakshmana!where is my Seetha?some demon has taken away my Seetha by force.Seetha!your pet deers are weeping in your absence.See them. Lakshmana!I can not live without Seetha.If I go to the otherworld after my death,My father,Dasaradha would leer at me.He would question me. Rama!you gave me word that you would live in the forest for fourteen years. But you have failed to stand on your words and came away here.You do not speak the truth.You are a hard hearted individual .You are cruel. Seetha!I am in extreme distress.Why did you leave me? I can not live without you!

Rama loses his cool

Even after hearing Lakshmanas words,Rama was still not satisfied. He blamed for leaving Seetha alone.Lakshmana,you are wrong. It is not a small mistake.You know my capacity. Then,why did you proceed even if Seetha said something in tension.May she might have blamed you,accused you. Even then ,you should not have left her alone.How can you lose your temper and cross my order.See there!that demon died by my arrow. for the cries he made at the time of death,you came running. Rama reached his asrama.His left eye trembled. his gait faltered.His body shook with imminent disaster.Observing these bad omens,he walked fast to his abode.Aasrama was vacant.Seetha was not to be seen.Did any one snatch her? is she no more?Did any demon kill her and eat her?Did she go into the forest all alone?He could not sure as to what really happened in his absence. May be she went to collect flowers and fruits.May be she went to the water body to collect some water.He searched all the near by places but to no avail.He ran from one tree to another. he searched one hill to another.He ran to the river bed.He was drowned in sorrow.He called every tree in the forest by their names and enquired if they saw his wife.He called kadamba vruksha,Bilva vrukasha. he called Asoka vruksham and toldlike this. You remove all the sorrows.Please show me,my Seetha and make me Asoka,a man without sorrows. He was enquiring the where abouts from Trees,creepers,animals of the forest,wild animals like tigers,lions,elephants,deers,flowers,AND FRUITS.

Lakshmanas explanation to Rama

Lakshmana replied his brother in a low and convincing note.Brother!I did not come here intentionally.Seetha talked in ahurtful note and made me come in your search by force.She heard the demons words in youe voice crying ,Hay Lakshmana! hay Seetha!.Hearing those cries she made me start in haste.iNspite of my repeated words to pacify her and give her comnfirmation that you would be safe,she did not believe my words.I told her that there was no demon in this world ,whocan make him afraid .The voice you heard is definitely not my brothers. It might me the voice of a demon who is imitatying my brothers voice.Rama can protect even the deities.Such a great person would never ask for help cry for some one to protect him.Such words would never come out of his mouth.Some demon might have conceived this idea .Do not cry.A man who can defeat Rama is not yet born.In future also,he would not be born.Dont be sorrowful. do not corner me to meave you. In spite of my repeated requests,Seetha was still weeping. She attributed bad inclinations to Lakshmana.She abused him. May be you have wrong intentions on me.You might have connived with Bharatha and then started following us.You are a foe in the guise of a well wisher.May be that you are wishing your brothers down fall.But it would never materialise.If your intentions are good,then why do you not go in search of your brother? I could digest those accusations.so I came out in anger at her words.

Rama pours out his tensions to Lakshmana

Rama addressed Lakshmana in this manner.Lakshmana ! what you did is wrong.It is not nice on your part to leave her alone and come in search of me.I strongly feel ,she is not safe.I am coming across all the bad omens. See1deers,jackals,and birds are crying in a fearful manner turning towards the sun.Demon ,who came in the guise of a golden deer,took me far away by deceit.After I attcked him with my arrows,he died as a demon. I am not happy.some one would have snatched Seetha.Otherwise,she might be coming towards us,searching us.she would not be in the abode.there is no doubt about it. Hey Lakshmana!Seetha came to Dandakaaranya,even though I lost my kingdom,to help me. tell me where she is.I can not live without her even for a second.where is my Seetha,who is like a deity to my eyes.she is the sole cause of my life.If I donOt have SEETHA,I neither want my kingdom nor heaven.she is more important to me than my life. I doubt if she is alive or dead. Because of her absence,I would die,and thus I am failing in fulfilling my promise given to my father that I would observe vanavasavratham for fourteen years. Lalkshmana!if I die because of Seetha,go to Ayodhya and tell about us. may be Kaikeyi would feel happy hearing about our deaths.How can my mother live there after losing her only son?I would stay in parnasaala,only if Seetha is alive.otherwise,I am sure to die.As soon as I enter parnasaala,if Seetha comes to welcome me,its OK.OTHERWISE,I WOULD DIE.Lakshmana!tell me. Is Seetha alive?did demons kill her and eat her ,when you were not alert?Seetha would be lamenting my absence.that cunning demon cried Lakshmana! Seetha!,with my voice.you would have been afraid hearing my voice like that.Even Seetha would lost her cool,hearing these cries of help and then might have sent you.You came fast here to see me safely . But in whatever manner,I see,it was very wrong on your part to leave Seetha alone and come in my search.you gave demons chance to fulfill their revenge on me.Definitely,they would have killed her by now.I am filled with grief. what can I do?Lakshma!is it apt on your part to leave her,when I believed that you look after her safety in my absence?When I saw you coming towards me,I was afraid that you were coming to tell me that Seetha is no more.I am worried very much about Seethas safety.My left eye,left shoulder and heart are shivering with anxiety.

Rama worried about Seethas safety

Rama killed the golden deer.Actually it was the demon ,Maareecha.He started to return home with anxiety.He was coming fast. behind him,he heard the cries of jackals.He was worried about Seethas safety.He was talking to himself. His soliloquy went like this.Maarecha ,in the guise of a golden deer has took far away from my abode.While dying,he cried ,Hey Lakshmana!hay Seetha!in my voice.Seetha and Lakshmana might have heard that cry.may be ,Seetha sent Lakshmana to look after me,thinking that I might be in danger.Lakshmana might have left her alone and come in sear ch of me.I am seeing all the bad omens. Seetha might have been in trouble.I killed many demons in their place. may be they are dying to take revenge against me.Maarecha might have planned to kill Seetha,making her alone. Thinking like this,Rama was walking in a depressed mood.Birds and wild animals turned around Rama in an anti clockwise direction and cried in a grotesque manner.Lakshmana came to him. he was also in sorrowful mood.Rama felt very much that Lakshmana left Seetha alone and come there.
