Vibheeshana

Vibheeshana saw his elder brother lying dead in the war field and wept.He was saying to his dead brother.Hey brother!you are such a warripr.You are supposed to lie on a bed of roses and in wealth but you are lying on the ground dead.I told you about the consequences then itself.But you were clouded by desire and lust and paid a deaf ear to my advice.You knew law,you were righteous,and you were valiant and famous.We should not speak ill of the dead.So,Vibheeshana was praising the good qualities of Raavana.Raavana was daring,kind hearted,patient,valiant and was doing penance.But such a great demon tree succumbed to the whirl wind,Raama and fell down. Raama pacified Vibheeshana.Vibheeshana!Raavana was agreat warrior.He fought in the war and died like a true warrior.We should not feel sorry for him.Think about what should be done next.Vibheeshana replied Raama.Hey lord Raama!Raavana was a great soul.He lead a majestic life.He spent many years in penance.He was a great scholar,Aahithaagni and Karmatudu.If you permit me I want to do last rites to him in proper manner.Raama answered him.Vibheeshana!do all the procedures as per prescribed mode.Once he is dead,our enmity also comes to an end.

Raavana killed at last!

The battle took place for seven days and nights without any gap.Maathali advised Raama.Hey lord Raama!why are you simply following Raavana like an innocent and ignorant man?You are just defending his attack.That is all you are doing.Raavanaas down fall has started.You release Brahmaasthram on Raavana and kill him.With this advice,Raama remembered.Sage Agasthya had given him the arrow,which Brahma had made for Indra.Sree Raama took the arrow,chanted the manthraas and made it effective.He released it onto Raavanaas chest.It reached its target and grabbed the life of Raavana.It fell on the ground and returned back to its original place in Akshayathuneeram.Raavanaas body fell from the chariot on to the ground.Remaining demons ran into the city.Vaanaraas were happy roared like lions.Deities sounded trumpets to mark the victory.They rained flowers on Raama.Deities and sages praised Raama.Troubles of dieties has ended at last.Sky became clear.Lakshmana,Sugreeva,Vibheeshana,Hanumantha and all the other vaanara warriors prayed Raama.Raama fulfilled his oath and he was surrounded by his friends and glowed like Devendra in Heaven. Raavanaas head cropped up one hundred and one times inspite of being beheading successively.At last,he died by Brahmaasthram which went into his heart directly.If we hear anything hood,we forget it thenext moment.Inspite of hearing it many a time,we do not take it seriously.We give weight to it only when we take it to our heart.So,there is no use taking Brahmajnaanam to our head.We should take it to our hearts.Then only knowledge is imbibed.

Raavanaas might diminishes

Raama and Raavana fought a fierce battle.Deities,Gandharvaas,Siddhulu and sages came to view it.There were many omens to be seen which confirmed the victory of Raama and defeat of Raavana.Raavanaas horses wept.Raama observed these signs and fought with enthusiasm.Both the armies stopped fighting and stood silent viewing the fight of Raama and Raavana.Raavana tried to break the Raamaas flagpost but his arrows could not come near it.Raama released one arrow which sharply broke down Raavanaas flag post.Raavana released arrows on to Raamaas horses but they did not affect them.Desperate that his arrows did not trouble Raamaas horses,Raavana rained arrows on Raama.He used maces,spears and wheels besdes arrows to attack Raama.He used his magical powers and rained arrows also.But Raama warded all of them efficiently.They released nnumerable number of arrows and they covered the entire sky.It was as if they constructed another sky with arrows.Their chariots were moving in many intricate directions to trouble the enemy.Earth shuddered.Sun dimmed.Air did not move.Deities were afraid.All the deities and sages. Who came there said in unision,may all the Brahmins and cows be blessed!may Raama win this war!viewing their war,they said ths.There is nothing to equal this fight.Sky is the limit for sky.Sea is the limit for sea.For Raama Raavana war,Raama Raavana war is the limit. Raama got angry and released a particular arrow and cut off Raavanaas head.But,immediately another head cropped up.Sree Raama cut off that head also.Still,another head popped up.Like that it happened one hundred and one times.Till then,Raavana did not die.Sree Raama started thinking within himself.I killed Maareecha.I killed Khara,Dooshana,Viraadha,Kabandha and many demons.The arrows which I sed on them did not show their effect on Raavana.Why?What might be the reason for all of them becoming uneffective?Thinking like this,Raama released arrows on Raavana continuously.Raavana also threw Maces,spears and many other weapons at Raama.War continued for seven days and nights.

Agasthya preaches Aadithya hrudayam to Raama

Sage Agasthya also came to see the war.To encourage Raama and to pass on energy to kill the enemy,Agasthya preached Aadithya hrudayam.He told Raama.Raamaa!when one is in difficulties,afraid of anything,If we read Aadithya hrudayam,our unhappiness and sorrow go away.Do Pooja to God Sun with concentration and sincerity and chant this Aadithya hrudayam three times.You would definitely win.You can kill Raavana even this very second.Sage Agasthya advised Raama and went away.Raama was no more unhappy.He did Aachamanam,purifid himself and did pooja to Sun God.He chanted Aadithya hrudayam thrice with devotion and concentration.Sun God stood before him and blessed him saying ,Raavana would die.be quick. Raama determined to kill Raavana.Raavana came well prepared to do war with Raama.Sree Raama saw Raavana and told Maathali like this.Maathali!have you observed?Raavana is coming in the anti clock wise direction.He would definitely die.Take our chariot opposite Raavana.Be clear headed and drive without any fear.You are great and drove this chariot even for Indra.There is no necessity to tell you all this particularly.I am just reminding you because this is war.Do not think that I am teaching you anything. Maathali drove the chariot.He made Raavanaas chariot move in anti clockwise direction and hastened his chariot.Dust that blew due to the increased speed of Raamaas chariot unsettled Raavana.Raavana got angry and released arrows at Raama.Raama took the bow and arrows given by Maathali to him.

Raavana scolds charioteer

Raavana revived after sometime.He saw where he was and got angry with the charioteer.Fool!you made me ashamed of my self.Without telling me,why did you take me away from my enemy?In reality,you harmed me.You destroyed my fame,valiancy and my guts which I built since long time.I love wars.You humiliatd me before my greatest enemy.I doubt that you have taken bribe from our enemy side and did this nasty job.Would any friend do such an act?If you still remeber the good I have done to you earlier,turn the chariot and take me to war field before my enemy comes here searching for me. Charioteer replied him humbly.Hey lord!I am not a fool.I was neither afraid nor took any bribe from the enemy.I did not forget the good you have done to me in the past.I did this for your safety only.You were tired in the war.There was no enthusiasm in you.Even horses tied to the chariot were dull and depleted.Charioteer should always be alert and observe all the minor facts also.He should observe the circumstances,traits,helplessness,happiness,unhappiness,strength and weakness and many other factors of the person who alights it and does war from the chariot.If it is apt to go forward he should do so.If he has to back out,he should do that,too.I strongly felt that it would be good if I give some rest to the horses and you.That is the only reason for my backing out.Out of respect and love towards you only,I did this.I am ready to do as per your bidding now. Raavana told him to take the chariot facing Raama.He would not return unless he kills the enemy.Saying so,Raavana gave his bracelet to the charioteer as a gift.He entered the war field again.

Raavana becomes blank while fighting

Sree Raama took his bow to start fighting again.Raavana also alighted another chariot and came back.Both attacked with arrows.Seeing Raavana on a chariot and Raama fighting from the ground,Indra sent his chariot and his charioteer Maathali to Raama.Maathali came and addressed Raama.Hey lord!wishing your victory,Indra has sent this chariot to you.He sent this bow,arrows,armor,and power for your use.Please accept them.Please get on to the chariot.I will be your charioteer.Devendra won many battles and killed many demons using this chariot.You too kill Raavana now.Raama circumscribed the chariot,saluted it and alighted on to it. Both have good knowledge about various weapons and their usage.They used Gaandharvaasthram against Gaandharvaasthram and Daivaasthram against Daivaasthram.Raavana released Raakshasaathram.Innumerable serpants came t from that.Raama released Garudaasthram and nullified its effect.Raavana rained arrows on Raama.He attcked Maathali also.He broke the flag post.He release arrows on the horses also.Seeing Raama in trouble,Deities and sages were very sad.Vibheeshana and vaanara warriors also were worried.With ten heads and twenty arms,Raavana looked like Mainaaka parvatham.He was releasing arrows with all the twenty hands.Raama could not even use his bow and arrows properly. Raama got angry with this situation.He was fearful to see.Even Raavana was afraid to look at him.To see this war,deities and sages came.Demons encouraged Raavana.Sages and deities encouraged Raama to win.Raavana took a spear and told Raama that he would kill him then itself.Raavana threw the spear at Raama.Raama released many arrows to stop it but failed miserably,Raama got angry and released the Sakthi given by Maathali.It broke the spear released by Raavana.Raama released arrows on horses of the chariot.He released arrows onto Raavanaas chest and three arrows on his forehead.Blood oozed from Raavanaas body and he became dull.But he too rained thousand of arrows on Raama.Raamaas body was full of arrows released by Raavana but he did not waver.Raavana released arrows still.Raamaas body was full of injuries and blood oozed from his body. Raama scolded Raavana.Hey Raavana!you are evil minded.When I was not present,you kidnapped my wife like a thief.Death will engulf you definitely.Do you really think you are a warrior once you do cheap acts?Are you not ashamed of your acts?If you had tried to take my wife in my presence,I would definitely have killed you then itself like I killed Khara.I will kill you and throw your dead body to jackals.Raama rained arrows on Raavana.His enthusiasm increased.He remembered all his weapons and their usage.His efficiency in releasing them also increased remarkably.Undersatnding this good sign,he released arrows sharply hiting the target.Vaanaraas also rained Boulders on Raavana. Raavana was confused.His mind became blank.His mind lost its grip.He stopped aiming and releasing arrows on the enemy.He was immobile mentally and physically.It was as if he was about to die.Observing all these signs and symptoms,hischarioteer took him away from the war field.

Hanumantha brings Sanjeevini mountain

Raavana told Sushenudu like his.Sushena!Lakshmana is bleeding like this.How can I fight properly when my brothers condition is like this?I am ashamed.Bow is slipping from my hands.My arrows are becoming weak.Because of tears in my eyes my sight is dim.There is no strength in my limbs.I am not firm.I am sorry seeing my brother like this being injured by Raavana.I am not feeling like living any more.If my brother dies what use os it if I am alive or dead?I do not care for the result of this war,kingdom,my life or even Seetha.If we want we can have many wives,relations.But we can not find our brothers any where. To this,Sushenudu pacified Raama.Hey lord Raama!Lakshmana is alive.His aura did not diminish.His face is not distorted.His face has not become pale.For those alone who live longer,faces would be shining like this.If one is dead,his face would not be like this.Do not worry.Lakshmana is alive.His heart is beating.He is asleep.There is nothing else to worry.Sushenudu turned towards Hanumantha and directed him.Hanumantha!go and get those medicinal herbs from Sanjeevini mountain,which you brought last time on Jaambavanthaas request.Be fast!There are Visalyakarani,Suvarnakarani,Sanjeevani and Sandhaanakarani herbs on that mountain.To make Lakshmana revive to normalcy,you should bring them immediately. Hanumantha went to that mountain with medicinal herbs.He could not identify them.He did not know what to do.He thought within himslf.It is better to take this mountain itself.I am unable to identify Visalya karani.Otherwise,it might be too late.He ,then,rocked the mountain three times,distanced it from the earth and lifted it.He then brought it and told Sushenudu.I was unable to identify the herbs.So,I brought the mountain itself.Every one was astonished seeing Hanumantha do such a magnificient act.Sushenudu took the herbs that he wanted,crushed them and dripped the extract into Lakshmanaas nostrils.Lakshmana revived immediately.By inhaling the herbs,he was relieved of his pain also.Lakshmana sat up.Raama wept with happiness.He hugged his brother lovingly. Raama told his brother.hey brother!you revived because I am lucky.If not,why do I need this life,Seetha or victory in this war?Lakshmana replied him in weak voice.Raamaa!why are you talking like this?These are the words to be spoken by weaklings.You should not utter them.Great people should complete their mission,whatever the circumstances be.Forget about my condition and kill Raavana and complete the oath you have taken.I wish that you would kill by todays evening at any cost.Fulfill my wish and kill Raavana by evening.
