Suka tells about enemys army to Raavana

As soon as Raavana saw Sukudu,he laughed and said,Sukudaa!why are your wings crumpled?Were you captured by the enemy?Sukudu started his reply.Hey lord!Vaanara army was stationed at the northern side of the sea shore and I went to deliver your message to Sugreeva.I completed the task,but in the mean time Vaanaraas caught me and beat me and thrashed me.You can not talk to any one there.There is no scope for either questions or answers.Raama ,who killed Kharudu,Viraadhudu and Kabandhudu,was ther along with Sugreeva.He made it possible to build the bridge across the sea and made vaanaraas cross the sea.Vaanara army is actually filling up the entire globe.Just as there can be no compromise between deities and demons,there can never be truce between vaanaraas and demons.Before vaanara armies reach Lankas outer ring,we have to decide whether we should hand over Seetha to Raama ,or wage a war immediately. With these words Raavana lost his temper and started boasting about his valor.I am not going to release Seetha,even if deiries,Gandharvaas and all others wage war against me.It seems Raama does not realise my power,that is why he is eager to go to war against me.I would smash him and the entire vaanara army.There is no one in all three realms who can face me in war.Though he said these words,Raavana was upset internally.Raavana called Suka and Saarana,his ministers and told them. Suka and Saarana!It seems vaanara armies have crossed the turbulent sea.Raama built a bridge over the sea and did a great job which no one has succeeded till now!I am unable to believe it still.go and see it and tell me if it is really true.Find how they could build the bridge.You identify the important and valiant vaanaraas there.Learn important facts like between Raama and Sugreeva,whose word is more powerful,weapons of Raama and Lakshmana,their strength,their army chief and any other important information.Suka and Saarana took up the form of Vaanaras and mingled with vaanara army as per their kings orders. Vibheeshana easily identified them and took them to Raama.He told him that these were Raavanaas ministers and were in the guise of monkeys.They came to find out war secrets.Suka and Saaarana lost hope about their lives and agreed that they came as secret agents of Raavana.Raama simply smiled at them and enquired if they had really completed assessing their strength.If they still had doubts,they could take the help of Vibheeshana and find out some more important facts about their army.He directed Vibheeshana to release them.He told Suka and Saarana to pass on his message to Raavana.Raavana!you can show of your strength freely,on the basis of which you kidnapped My Seetha.I am going to destroy Lanka,its outer ring,doors and demon army tomorrow.Be prepared! Suka and Saarana were really relieved to learn that Raama was not going to kill them.They praised Raama and left for Raavanaas assembly.

Raama reaches Lanka

Raama,Lakshmana and the vaanara army reached southern shore of the sea.Raama observed good indications.He happily hugged his loving brother and said.Lakshmana!find an appropriate place for all of us to recode and where sufficient fruits and vegetables and water resources are available.We would divide and arrange our army according to appropriate plan and we can be tension free.I strongly feel that great war is going to take place.Many vaanaraas and demons are going to perosh in this war.Earth would be filled entirely by weons,blodd and flesh of vaanaraas and demons.Lakshmanaa!let us start to Lanka immediately.Sree Raama hle his bow and turned towards Lanka and started his journey,along with Lakshmana,being in front of the army.Sugreeva,Vibheeshana accompanied them with their armies.All were walking with muchenthusiasm.They heard the drum beats from Lanka.Vaanaraas made huge noise,Simhanaadam.Sree Raama thought of Seetha and her plight when he saw the city and felt sad. Raama turned towards Lakshmana and spoke thus.Lakshmana!see this city.It is shining with big buildings and paradee grounds and outer rings.It is like white clouds shining in the sky.Gardens here are so beautiful that they are encompassing Kuberaas chaithraratham. Then,Raama tirned towards the vaanara army and addressed them.hey vaanaraas!now we will divide our army and plan war strategies.Angada and Neela would stay at the heart of the entire army.Myself and Lakshmana would stand at the head position of our army.Rushubhudu would stand at southern side.Gandhamaadanudu would protect northern side.Jaambavanthudu,Sushenudu and Vegadarsi would protect At the belly point of the army and Sugreeva would stand up in the back side of the army.Then Raama turned towards Sugreeva and directed Sugreeva to release Sukudu as the war plan was complete.With these words,Sukudu was released and he went to Lanka to meet Raavana.

Bridge constructed over the sea

Raama gave permission to Nala to build the bridge.Vaanaraas brought lakhs and lakhs of logs for bridge construction.They brought great and big boulders.Each boulder was of the size of an elephant. They brought them by machines.They brought hills and drowned them into the sea.To make the bridge smooth and even,they prepared yarn of hundred yojanaas length.Some assorted scales and started measuring the logs.Some were supervising the entire work being done.As per Raamaas instructions,vaanaraas used rocks,mud and wooden logs to make the bridge.First day ,they completed fourteen yojanaas of the bridge,second day twenty eight yojanaas,third day twenty one,fourth day twenty two and fifth day twenty three yojanaas of the bridge.Like this,they completed hundred yojanaas long and ten yojanaas wide bridge with in five days.Bridge made by Nala was glittering like Swathipatham in the sky.To observe this super human task being completed,deities and sages came and observed from the sky.The bridge was looking as if hair is being parted in the centre. While the bridge was being built,crores and crores of vaanaraas reached the other side of the sea.Vibheeshana was alert,along with his four ministers,on the southern side of the sea shore,to ward off the enemies.Sugreeva requested Raama to alight Hanumantha.Angada would carry Lakshmana.They would take these warriors along the sky.Would Sugreeva allow Raama and Lakshmana to cross the sea by walk?Sugreeva,Raama and Lakshmana were in front of the army.Army moved.It crossed the sea and settled at the southern sea shore.Deities and sages came and did abhishekam with pure and sacred waters.They praised and blessed him that he would win over the enemy and rule his kingdom for many,many years to come and be happy.

Samudras advice to Raama

Samudra saluted Raama and spoke to him.Hey Lord Raamachandra!Five elements of nature would behave according to their nature,naturally!My nature is to be deep and drowning.Being shallow is against my nature.I can not make this sea static either by lust,greed or fear.One thing is possible for me.I would show you a place where you can be safe from wild and cruel sea animals,because these waters can not be made static.Raama then asked Samudra,where he could release his arrow.Then Samudra requested hm to release the arrow in northern direction to a place called Drumakulyam.That place also actually belongs to Samudra only.There,some theives would be drinking this sea waters.You direct your arrow at them.Raama released his arrow in that direction and that place became famous as Marukaanthaara.Raama gave that place a boon.That place will be rich and precious and famous and beautiful.Samudra gave Raama another clue.He said that Naludu was Viswakarmaas son.He is as efficient as his father.If Nala constructs a bridge over me,I will bear it.Saying these words Samudra disappeared.Naludu came forward and asserted that he could really build the bridge and he is really as efficient as his father. Fear of being punished is the best method in this world if we want to get our things done.Kindness and reasoning do not work regarding ungrateful people.Samudra made way to Raama because of fear of being punished by the great soul.I could remember this boon given by my father as Samudra mentioned about it.Let us start building the bridge now itself!

Raama gets angry with the Sea God,Samudra

Sree Raama saluted Sea and spread grass,darbhalu,on the ground.He kept his right shoulder as his pillow and faced eastwards and slept.Raamaas right shoulder was adorned with gold ornaments when he was in Ayodhya.Many women molished and beautified it.It was releasing beautiful scents and flavors.His right shoulder always held Seethadevi to his side.It was bathed by waters from River Ganges.It was shining like Thakshakas body.It increases enemys fears.Good people feel happy when they look at his right shoulder.It can release arrows whoch can circumnavigate the entire world.It was like agreat iron rod.It gifted thousands of cows to the needy and the poor.Sree Raama kept such shoulder under his head and thought he would either cross the sea or die there itself.He prayed Sea God appropriately.He did penance for three days.But Sea God did not appear.He got angry and called Lakshmana and said. Lakshmana!Are you seeing the carelessness of Sea?He is still not visible.Good traits like calmness,kindness,righteousness and soft talk do not have any good effect on characterless people.No one in this world respects a sage or saint.They respect those persons who praise themselves,heartless people,cruel people,harsh people who punish others others without any valid reasons and unkind persons.In this world,we can not acquire fame,Glory,victory by righteousness.Now,I can release my arrow and dry up this sea.I can make all the sea animals come outside.I can make the sea turbulant and dry it up completely.As long as I am patient,Sea God is continuing his act of carlessness.This Samudrudu is considering my knidness as incompetence.No one should shower kindness on such people.As long as I am good,Samudrudu would not appear before me.Lakshmanaa!bring my bow and arrows.I would dry up the sea and make vaanaraas walk over land to Lanka.I would unsettle sea and make is troublesome.I will make the sea lose its shore and make it cover the entire earth.Saying so,Raama released arrows like thunderbolts.Those arrows went into the sea and caused heavy turbulance.sea animals which were in the sea bed shivered out of fear.Those arrows reached Paathaalam and hit the demons residing there.Sree Raama again started to release another set of arrows.But Lakshmana warned him not to and held on to his bow.Raamaas anger did not simmer down. He roared at the Sea.hey Samudrudaa!I can dry you up till Paathaalam.Once all the water dries up,all this place would be filled by sand.All vaanaraas would then reach Lanka by walk.It seems you have not realised my strength.Saying so,Raama prayed for Brahmaasthram and was about to release it.Just as the arrow touched the bow,loud sound came as if sky and Earth were about to break sown.Mountains shivered.Rivers and ponds became turbulant.Sun and moon started moving in opposite directions.Entire world became dark.Thunders showered.Sea shrinked and went back one yojana distance.Seeing Sea going back,Raama stopped releasing his arrow.In the mean time,Sea God appeared before Raama.He was adorned with heavy ornamnets and Diamond was glittering on his chest.

Raavan sends Sukudu to Sugreeva

Sugreeva enquired Vibheeshana regarding means to cross the sea.Vibheeshana simply replied that Raama has to request Sea.Samudrudu,Sea,has improved or flourished because of Ikshvaaku dynasty.So,he would definitely help Raama.Sugreeva told this fact to Raama and Lakshmana.RAama also considered this and asked about their opinion.Sugreeva also agreed to Vibheeshanaas suggestion.Without constructing a bridge crossing the sea and reaching Lanka are impossible.Even deities can not do it.So,it would be better to pray Sea God immediately.Sree Raama immediately went near the sea shore and slept on the darbhasayanam. In Lanka,Raavana was in his assembly hall. he was hearing to the words of demon,Saardooludu,who observed Raama and the vaanara army residing on the sea shore and went to him to tell the fact.Saardooludu started telling.Hey Lord!Ruksha vaanara armies are coming towards Lanka.Its army is huge like a sea.Any side you see,it is more than ten yojanaas long and is fearful to see.It is better to send our agents and assess their strength and put into use,our saama,daana,bhedopaayam. Hearing these words,Raavana called his aide,Sukudu and told him.Sukudaa!you go to Sugreeva and tell him as my words.Sugreeva!you are born in a great family.We are like brothers.The thing I did would neither cause you harm nor benefit you.I kidnapped Raamaas wife.Why should you feel sorry for it?Vaanaraas can not enter Lanka.The thing which is unimaginable even to deities and Gandharvaas,can simple vaanaraas get through?Go back to Kishkindha happily! Sukudu took the form of a bird and flew in the sky and reached the place where Sugreevas army was camping.He stood in the sky and repeated Raavanaas words to Sugreeva.Vaanaraas dragged him down and beat him.Sukudu approached Raama and pleaded him.Lord!I am an agent of Ravana.You know that it is not right to kill the agent.These vaanaraas are beating me to death.If an agent does not deliver his kings message correctly but adds his words or alters the message should be punished.But I repeated only what my king had told me to pass it on to Sugreeva. so I am not liable to be killed.It would be wrong on your part if you kill me.hey Lord!stop these vaanaraas from killing me! Raama admonished vaanaraas to stop beating Sukudu.Sukudu immediately flew into sky and enquired Sugreeva as what his reply was. Sugreeva gave his reply.Raavanaa!there was never any friendship between you and me.I have never received any help from in the past.You are an enemy to my friend,Raama.You are a friend to my foe,Vaali.You are to be killed ,like Vaali.Shortly,I am going to kill you and your men and devastate Lanka.Wherever you fo,Raamaas arrow would not leave you.You kidnapped Seetha,when Raama and Lakshmana were not present"So,Raama would definitely kill you. In the mean time,Angada told Sugreeva that Sukudu was not an agent but a spy.He was assessing the army strength.So,he should not be sent to Lanka.Hearing these words,Sugreeva directed vaanaraas to capture him and so Sukudu was in their captivity.

Vibheeshana enthroned by Raama

Raama asked Vibheeshana to tell him about Raavanaas strength and weakness.Vibheeshana started explaining.Lord Raama!Brahma gave Raavana a boon.Because of that boon,Raavana can not be killed by deities.Kumbhakarna is Raavanaas brother.His strength equals that of Indra.Raavanaas army chief is Prahasthudu.In the war against Kubera in Kailaasam,Prahasthudu defeated Kubera and his army chief,Manibhadrudu.Raavanaas son,Indrajith,is a great warrior.He has Avadhya kavacham.When both sides are involved in war,he would satisfy Agnihothra,by doing Homam,and then due to its effect he becomes invisible and kills the enemies.Besides these,Raavana has many warriors like Mahodarudu,Mahaapaarsvudu,Akampanudu,as his army chiefs.Raavana has crores of demons as his army.Raavana has defeated even deities in the past. Hearing these words,Raama to D like this.Vibheeshana!I can assess Raavanaas srength by hearing your words.Do not worry!I would root out Raavana,along with his entire relations and make you the king of Lanka.This is truth.Raavana might dissolve in Rasaathalam,hide in Paathaalam,or go to Brahma ,himself.Still,I would definitely kill him.Without killing Raavana,I would not enter Ayodhya.I am taking oath on my three brothers and telling these words.Vibheeshana saluted Raama and said that he too would help unerringly in killing Raavana.Hr pronised to participate in the war also.Raama hugged Vibheeshana and directed Lakshmana to bring sea water and officially make Vibheeshana king of Lanka. Lakshmana enthroned Vibheeshana before Vaanara warriors.Every one praised Raama.Now,Vibheeshana has no doubts that he would not be acquiring the throne at the end .Now,he would help Rama to his utmost extent.Otherwise,he might not become the king.Actually,Vibheeshana has not approached Raama with his eye on the kingdom.Hanumantha hinted this aspect while explaining his view and Raama also confirmed it.It seems they told like this to make Sugreeva see reason behind their accepting Vibheeshana into their camp. Because,Vibheeshana is a righteous man.He does not have the qualities of a demon.Soorpanakha told this fact to Raama in janasdhaanam.Then things were differnt.By then,even Khara and Dooshana were not killed.No one might have dreamt that one day Raama would come to kill Raavana.Because these are the words told by Soorpanakha,they can be believed.Even Raavana,himself,has acknowledged that Vibheeshana is a righteous and great person.Vibheeshana tried his level best to change Raavanaas mind from the wrong path.But it did not succeed.In addition,Raavana abused him in the assembly and asked him to leave.What can Vibheeshana do,but to leave him.Because ,he was striving to do good,he came directly to Raama without fear.without caring for his life,he came and stood amidst enemies.Then there is nothing wrong if he helps Raama in killing Raavana.He has to!When he joined Raamaas camp,he should definitely help Raama only,not harm him.If you want to help,you should do it whole heartedly.So,he did it willingly.He told Raama as how to kill Indrajith. After Raavanaas death,Vibheeshana is the rightful successor.Neither Raama,nor Sugreeva are interested in demons kingdom.So automatically,Vibheeshana could secure the kingdom.Raama has gifted him willingly.Vibheeshana can not be blamed or found fault with,in this entire episode. Even mentally,Vibheeshana and the vaanaraas became one and he was accepted into their camp happily.
